Wok of Love

기름진 멜로 ‧ Drama ‧ 2018
Both have a very strong 2ML who makes the show, and their backstories are shown more than that of the MLs’.

Both stories of business success and of starting from scratch.

Both have an FL confused and ambiguous, and the 2ML being much more caring/protective than the ML.

Watch both for the second leads!

Both are stories of revenge with competition of two restaurants: one already very famous and influent, but with problems caused by CEO's incompetent and spoiled son; the other new that is a mixture of passion, talent and newbies who don't have anything to do with cuisine, but who learned a lot and became very skilled. In both the protagonists have big age gap.

The series will take place in a Chinese restaurant. Chef Seo Poong, a chef who goes from being a star chef one day to the cook at a failing neighborhood Chinese restaurant the next. Dan Sae Woo, meaning “sweet shrimp”, lives a life of privilege and leisure—she accepted no gifts on her wedding day because her father gave her a check for 300 million won, and she enjoys horseback riding and fencing. Her greatest moment in life happens to coincide with a random bowl of jajangmyun, which leads her to undergo a big change and begin a new life.

Both with a really cute couple. Love triangle that can make you have second lead syndrome. Light hearted comedy.

The dramas give off a similar vibe especially because the couples have a similar type of relationship. The female leads also have similar personalities (the one from wok of love is more extroverted tho and the one from my secret romance is a bit more shy and def more naive). I am not that great at analysing but the male leads also have a few similarities: they both get annoyed easily, lowkey have anger issues and are both (at some point) gentlemen for their FL.
