Two years after Li Hsiao Ming committed an indiscriminate murder at a movie theater, his final appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court, and he was sentenced to death. Sung Chiao An is the deputy director of SBC News, and her husband, Liu Chao Kuo, both work in the news industry but have different perspectives on the responsibility of news media to society. Additionally, their son was accidentally shot by Li Hsiao Ming at the movie theater, which was the catalyst of the disintegration of their marriage. Li Ta Chih is the newly appointed editor at SBC News and works under Sung Chiao An. She keeps to herself and doesn’t allow others to get close to her. Fortunately, she has a kind and supportive landlord, Ying Szu Yueh, in her life. After a family argument, Ying Szu Yueh’s younger brother, Ying Szu Tsung, moves in with her and Li Ta Chih.
