This drama will take your heart out, crush it, and out it back
as the title says, it'll take a while to heal. it's a running joke in the fandom that years go by and you don't get over this drama. I'm writing this some years after watching it because it still lives vividly in my heart.I'm the kind of person who's very forgetful of what I watch, I could barely tell you the storylines or remember the actors. i'm also quite unemotional so it's *extremely* rare that I get impacted by a TV series.
but this y'all. this is something you watch and then don't remember life before it. the dynamics are great. the OST is great (i can sing the whole theme song in broken Chinese and whenever it comes in shuffle I feel my heart grow heavy). the story is heart wrenching. what's to miss?

I don't even know where to start about this drama but I can tell you this muchwhen you start it there is just no way out you get hooked...literally!
The drama is truly a masterpiece ,how the story goes and the you get to know the characters and see them as they develop
Also we get to see their background and the reason behind their actions
I like how the drama try to keep track with the novel and make everything you read before come to life.
as for the ones that read the novel , definitely that some of you would be disappointed cause their love story is not the same as in the novel but that's okay , even though they didn't get married , the drama still a masterpiece
The cast of the drama had a big role to make it this great, the leads made it magical their acting skills and how they showed emotion and how they literally became Lan Zhan and Wei wuxian also for the rest of the cast their performance was wholesome!
The thing about how well detailed every character was being showed ,they all had their own unique qualities and the cast did a great job in pulling it off
This is truly the best drama ever I promise! Never in my life have I ever said this about any drama it is just different and on another level regarding its depth, cinematography acting etc. and extremely inspirational
if you are planning to watch it ( as you should ! ) , the most important thing is to focus on the first episode and don't skip anything cause if you do , you'd probably not understand anything from next episodes and you'd be confused ( like I did ) . It might be long for you cause its 50 episodes and the special edition is 20 episodes so in total 70 episodes , I don't get why some people dropped it but everyone have different points of views and opinions !!!!
I really think I will rewatch it again cause seeing the comments on YouTube there are people that its their 10th time watching it, so just you know its that good for people to watch it over and over
BONUS : if you don't know where to watch it , you can find it on YouTube with a good quality and you can select any language you want for the subtitles .

Hidden Gem
Congratulations you found a hidden treasure among the all NC scenes today series provide. Without a doubt this series just surpasses every criteria but because of all the censorship romance is not fully in the out. But seriously even without the kissing, hugging the kind of utter love they made us feel is just beyond words.For anyone who is starting this series believe me you are so lucky to watch this series for the first time and let's be clear the first two episodes will be hard to grasp but don't give up because this is just the best thing to get your hands on. You won't be disappointed one bit. Also keep the tissues ready you may cry a lot.
For anyone not interested in the bromance, bl or whatever, watch it for a good story, a perfect blend of suspense and mystery. The romance is negligible and we BL fans find happiness in that too so don't mind us watch for a good story.

This has the most beautiful story I have ever seen in C dramas
In one word this is absolutely a masterpiece. from acting to casting and story to ost everything is 10/10. the ost OMG!! I can listen to it whole day. You will laugh, it will break your heart then again you will heal. I really really love this drama. it will always be my one of the best cdramas. I have already rewatched it many times!! Definitely worth the hype and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I really fell in love with their acting the bonds between siblings and how they go Through different stages. I love the drama. At the beginning, I was like thinking that it was too long to watch and it's not my type. It's just at first though, as I start watching the series, I just love it. For starters that love historical drama and bromance, this series will literally change your perspective in Chinese drama. The fact that China doesn't allow same sex romance in series, but you can feel their atmosphere. For the music, I am listening from time to time. You can watch this on WeTv, even the Tagalog dubbed is available. I believe that you cannot move on from this. The ending really satisfied me, I thought they just leave like that. However in the end of the series, you can feel a slight romance. A romance that lacks towards the episodes.Was this review helpful to you?
First and foremost, compliments to the main actors, and I became a fan of both Zhan and Yibo, as well as the supporting characters, who did an outstanding job. I can't fathom any other actors acting for WWX and Lan Zhan; they'll always be my legendary duo. WWX is very cheerful and makulit character. I adore him, and Zhan deserves credit for incorporating WWX's joy and wit very well HAHA! Lan Zhan seems so emotionless in the first portion, but I love how Yibo brings it to life gradually. He truly acts with his eyes, and even that small curled smile has the power to convey more meaning and his cries too :(( The actor who played Meng Yao is also fantastic. He really employed good emotions and acting skills both playing the good and damn evil character. I loved him. Wen Ning is so cute too and I enjoyed his fight scenes the most and Lan Zhan.
I love the story and the plot twist specially around ep 46 made me a damn cry baby. It is somewhat slow paced that made me love it even more. Although they don't show or directly employed intimate movements, I love Yizhan chemistry and bromance huhu. I love the flow of the story although it is confusing for me for few first episodes but eventually understand it as I go along. For me there is no boring part and I love the cast sassiness HAHA! and as for serious mode too.
AND FOR THE MUSIC, I REALLY LOVED EVERTYTHING. WHENEVER THE OPENING OR ENDING MUSIC IS PLAYING I FELT SAD AND HAPPY HUHU. I remember them :( ANYWAYS 10/10

Definitely worth it
I have so many things to say about this drama that I don't even know where to start with. The storyline was amazing and is still one of my favourite dramas of all times. I cried a lot watching it, all along with the ML, I love his character with all my heart. This dramas has the power to break your heart and make it bloom at the same time but it will be worth it I swear. I first watched it in 2022 because I thought it had a sad ending but I was genuinely surprised (and glad) to discover it had a happy one instead!I love the main couple so much and the actors did an amazing job. I recommend this masterpiece and trust me if I say it will be worth it!!

the characters are just on point even when the casting director didn’t choose a list actors it really showed that there is still true skill out there that is still hidden it is one of my favourite shows and i have probably rewatched it five times not including watching the animated series and reading the books it’s sad how the actors aren’t allowed to be friends anymore bc of the rumpus that the fans made i think it’s really messed up but the show is still fantastic and it’s the first sore i would recommend to someone who is just starting out on watching historical dramasWas this review helpful to you?
A masterpiece
As someone who can't watch a serie with a lot of episodes I want more of this , 50 episodes are not enough.it's 4am and I just have finished this , and I'm writing this and crying at the same time . I can't stop thinking of the friendship between LWJ and WWC . I can't move on from the theme song going along with the ending scene and WWC laughter.
If I got the chance I'll rewatch this over and over again.
I'm not gonna talk about the acting skills of the actors (alllllll of them) they have played it soooo wellll, like I can't imagine something more real than this , they made me live with the story without thinking that this is not realllll.
I recommend it to everyone, show it much love plls🙏💙🖤

I shed tears many times for which I didnt think is possible when I started this drama. I mean, its a fantasy drama with magic, flying and stuffs so to shed tears for this kind of stories is kind of impossible for me but it did and because of that, it deserved a special place in my heart. :D

Fear not, Bromance is just a beard for BL in The Untamed - the romance is there!
I have watched so many dramas over the years but no matter how much I loved the stories and its characters, I have never felt compelled to write a review in hopes of trying to convince others to watch a show until now. If you are unsure whether you will enjoy watching The Untamed, please give it a chance. I was hesitant to watch this show at first because costume/historical dramas full of sword fighting are just not my cup of tea. I am a confirmed romance junkie that favors lighthearted rom com dramas but all the rave reviews I kept seeing for this show piqued my curiosity.After reading that due to censorship there were only very subtle hints at a romance between the two main characters and a heavy reliance on symbolism to convey their love, I was worried that the show would be unable to convince me of their feelings for each other without offering up a single kiss or obvious show of skinship. My fears were proved wrong and as the show progressed, I became completely engrossed in their story.
The drama starts off slow but steady (albeit somewhat confusing at times - I had to read recaps off the internet after each of the earlier episodes to make sure I was following along correctly) with the introduction of numerous characters and events that are all necessary to piecing together and understanding the backstory leading up to the opening scene of episode 1. The pacing in the first half of the drama can drag a bit and feel somewhat uneven and uneventful but if you can stick it out, the second half more than makes up for it. By the time I reached the 16-year time skip, I was fully invested in the story and could not bear to tear my eyes away for the remainder of the show.
The story of The Untamed unfolds slowly across 50 episodes that span almost two decades but that time is used wisely to carefully craft the storyline of our two main characters, as well as to develop various arcs for the other characters whose own stories and fates sent me on an emotional roller coaster. Even now at the end of their journey, I find it hard to let go of this show that was so much more than just a love story. It is not a candy coated HEA fairy tale, but it is replete with self-discovery, personal growth, sacrifice and loss that will tug at your heartstrings.
The drama combines stellar acting by both protagonists and villains and pairs it together with an incredible OST that will immerse you in the world of clans and cultivation. The result is an epic tale that delivers to the viewer an equally extraordinary romance that manages to make other love stories pale by comparison. The Untamed is an unforgettable drama that I know I will revisit again and again, and I hope one day to find another show that will touch my heart like this one did.
