For any potential new viewers, they should ask themselves if they really want to spend a whole drama watching a love triangle between 1 guy and 1 girl. By that I mean a guy going out with the same girl pretending to be 2 different people. If you’re really interested in watching said guy not being able to put the two and two together for the majority of the show, then be my guest.

Our male lead doesn’t just suffer from prosopagnosia, he also suffers from dumb bitch disease.

Like...how can he not recognise her voice??

Don’t worry, it’s not just him I have a bone to pick with, what is with our female lead? Jung Gal Hee, girl what are you doing? Why are you pretending to be someone else, why can’t you just come clean!? Must you really wait for the universe to do it for you so it’s even harder for him to forgive you? Ugh I hate these writers, writing it just so it gets revealed in dramatic fashion.

Anyways, you know why I don’t like this drama? The only reason they got together in the first place is because he got face blindness and she was the only face he could see (because she wore the same red cardigan every day all year so it trained him to recognise her face automatically or something). Otherwise after he fired her it would have been left at that. He only made her stick around because he needed her.

But ALSO it’s so vague! I thought the deal was when she has her red cardigan on he can miraculously see her face? But then somewhere along the way, it changes and the truth is he can’t REALLY see her face, it’s like he can just remember it (like a blank canvas from memory) - not her actual expressions?? Then there are times when she IS wearing the cardigan and she’s like “I wish you could see my face right now” I don’t understaaaaand
Pick your vague rules and stick with them please.

Although I loved Veronica Park. She was such a fun character. And the friendship between Veronica Park and Gal Hee! We support this wholesome relationship (when they hugged and were all excited because of their crushes!!! we stan)

Also kudos for this to be the first drama where I liked the secondary couple. Loved them. (more than the main couple whoops)

The villains are so mediocre, you don't even know who the real villains are half the time. (but it is HILARIOUS to see the female lead talk about the 'oh so important object' that the villains are after - ONLY in the villain's presence lmao). There are heaps of other things that don't add up but you get to the point you don't even care anymore.

On the whole, this drama is light and easy, but oh so dumb and frustrating. Watch at your own risk.

Sweet fluffy romcom

I initially picked this kdrama for the fluffy romance part that I'd read about. A lot of people had mentioned how the story is not unique and that it follows the typical romcom kdrama. However, I personally really liked both the fluff and the story!

Yes, it does follow the same mean-boss-and-underappreciated-secretary story, but it's built in a really cute and intresting manner (has a twist to). The story flows easily and it has a good balance of comedy, romance and suspense. There is a bit of deceiving from the FL's side, but it wasn't very far fetched and gets resolved in a smooth manner, which I liked. And they compensate for it very well in the last 2 episodes with lots of fluff that will keep you smiling and grinning at the cute couple. The comedy portion was also very satisfying, especially all of Veronica Park moments (have to say she was my favourite, I laughed a lot at all her parts!)

All in all I really enjoyed the entire kdrama, and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a light watch to pass their time.

At first it was my backup plan to watch this drama bcoz of just getting familiar with Koreans but when I actually experienced it fully it keeps me stuck with upcoming episodes. The balance between the normal and elite life was property shown anf convincing. Main lead actress was immensely beautiful and her way of making cute expressions were out of this world. Her aroma of impersonating veronica park was too good and proper. I love her more than the leads coz yet playing supporting role she was able to gain attention from the seekers so innovatively. ??

A super sweet drama with awesome characters!

I especially liked the male lead. Kim Young-Kwang did a fantastic job. And kudos to the writing team from deviating from the cliché of the aloof, arrogant boss and going for a vulnerable, earnest character. Do Min-Ik was one of the sweetest MMC I think I've ever seen.

And, of course, Veronica Park stole the show every time she came on-screen. Kim Jae-Kyung did a wonderful job playing her.

Smiles and happy feelings all around!

P. S. I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shout-out to the kooky OST. The Lion King, Queen, Damien Rice and Let It Go. Weird, random musical choices, but I liked them!

This drama does have it's clichés. The cold hearted rich man falling for the poor good natured woman etc. But it's how the plot is executed on screen which made all of the difference. I liked this drama because it managed to deliver what it promised. It was supposed to be a simple romantic comedy and it's just that. I loved the chemistry between the main leads. There were cute moments between the two but not so many that you would get bored and sick of seeing them. The side characters such as Veronica Park were fun to watch as well. If you are feeling down or depressed and want to watch something fun without too much angst I suggest you check this one out.

Let me start by saying that Jin Ki Joo is a wonderful female lead and she did a FANTASTIC job as the secretary in this show but overall she's a great actress. I also didn't mind Kim Young Kwang as Do Min Ik because he's an actual pretty good actor as well; especially with the way he was put into this position. Overall, the show is honestly really good; it's short and easy to watch, the secondary characters are funny and cute and a good story on it's own; especially when you hear "AWESOME" xD HAH! But the romance between the two are fantastic; just the way they click is good. I like the plot twist of the story to make it dramatic but I also like that you still get the cool family vibes, great friendship and mystery all in one. Like the story just made it keep going but we were in it for the fluff and it did not disappoint at all. It was worth the watch as a filler and just to watch for sure.

2024 REVIEW NO SPOILERS

This Kdrama is lovely thats my first thought. No gratuitous angst inducing love triangle, no horrendous Miscommunication, No terrible Mother in Law, No crazy 2FL. No Juxtaposed melo storyline.

My second thought is that the great thing about this show is that it has a love triangle, it has a MIL who is not that nice, it has a crazy (in the best posdible way) 2FL, it has terrible Miscommunication, it has a melo sidestory, but yet it is consistently and unashamedly cute and fluffy.

It does this by constantly reminding us of its lovely core usually through the interactions of the MCs but also via the wonderful (and totally unrealistic but who cares) character that is Veronica Park.

If your in a slump and need fluff watch this its simply a slump buster.

This was a cute and fluffy drama. I loved Kim Young Kwang in this. It was nice to see him in a rom com. The chemistry with Jin Ki Joo was wonderful! She’s just adorable and can’t wait to see her in another drama. My second favorite couple was Veronica Park and Gi Dae Ju. Veronica was hilarious and I loved the way he handled her quirky-ness. The OST was perfect, to include another great song from Sandeul! I don’t tend to over analyze dramas, especially romcoms. If it’s enjoyable to watch, has a little bit of tension, and it ends well, I’m happy. This drama filled those requirements. I loved Gal Hui’s brother! He was so funny and didn’t take his blindness seriously. I liked all of the little lessons sprinkled in throughout. I really had some laugh out loud moments, most of them with Veronica and Dae Ju, what a great pair. I will miss these characters!

Surprisingly good

10/10 is my rating. This is a 2019 South Korean Romantic Drama with 32 episodes of about 35 minutes. Also known as "How to Train My Blind Boss."

First I provide a synopsis then a review.

Synopsis

Do Min-ik (Kim Young-kwang) is not an easy boss to work for as he relies on his secretary for everything but does not employ beyond a year. Jung Gal-hee (Jin Ki-joo) is determined to be the one to change that, and get her contract renewed, and goes out of her way to meet her bosses' crazy demands. That all changes when Ki-joo's contract is up and Director Min-ik indicates he will not renew. Gal-hee vows to get revenge on her boss and, in an alcohol fueled foray sets out to find him only to discover he needs help as someone genuinely tried to hurt him. Upon recovery from the immediate injury Min-ik suffers from prosopagnosia and is only able to see the face of his secretary as his many hours with her imprinted her image in his mind. Now desperate beyond his only 1 year per secretary policy, he begs Gal-hee to help him navigate a world where everyone looks the same only, this time, she has some conditions. Min-iks adopted mother has designs to use her son to further the family business and wants him to go on blind dates with Veronica Park (Kim Jae-kyung) a former heiress who is notorious for going through men and being difficult to work with. It so happens that Gal-hee used to work for Veronica and used to pretend to be her for various crazy stunts Veronica would involve her secretary in. Due to a mix up in schedules Gal-hee winds up pretending to be Veronica for a blind date with Min-ik and he falls for Gal-hee's version of the heiress. To make things even more complicated the real Veronica, during the same mix-up, falls for Min-ik's friend and fellow company director Ki Dae-joo (Koo Ja-sung). Will Min-ik forgive Gal-hee for tricking him? Has the real Veronica finally met her match?

Review
I tried to think of things I did not like about this series but they were so minor I have to say this is rather perfect. It ends well. The couples romances are well placed, believable and heart warming. Veronica Park is such an iconic character if you watch it for no other reason - watching it for that role would be worth it. But it is really good in addition to that.

Spoiler alert* I did not like that she tricked him. But, in the series, that was not justified and she was not happy with herself about it either. So I felt like she redeemed herself and him forgiving her made sense. I liked that his cold adopted mother "came around" and it was obvious, in her way, that she loved her adopted son. I liked that there was no miracle cure for his facial blindness and that he had to go through a whole process to learn to accept himself with the disability. He found ways to work around it. I liked that they did not miraculously and unbelievably find a way to preserve the Chairman job for him but the way they worked it out was very satisfying. You knew that he would be chairman in the near future. His love and caring for her when she was protesting was so cute. He was willing to give up anything to make things right for her. His relationship with her siblings, the way he "spoiled" them set the tone for how great of a relationship he would have with them in the future. He gained a close knit family and they gained a provider/protector. It was not clear or closed up if Gal-hee discovered her sister had the earrings. Or if her sister got the role. It was implied but it felt like we followed that character so closely I would liked to have known how things went for her. I would watch this one again and highly recommend it to anyone that likes heartwarming romance. There is very little intrigue in this one, the villians are pretty run of the mill, but the relationships completely carry the story in a good way.

In terms of story and plot, its pretty cliche. Its a soft, fluffy drama. I found it to be quite draggy. The writers spent a lot of time on a single plot. But despite this, it was still somewhat enjoyable. Some episodes were more fun than others and some episodes were a bit boring. Overall, it was not too bad.
In terms of music , it was alright. Pretty average kdrama osts in my opinion.

What stood out to be me the most are the characters. I loved Veronica Park. She was so much fun to watch. She was a character that you dont normally dont expect. She was the true star of the show. She left a big impact on me as her catchphrase was everywhere hahah.

I was in the mood for something light and easy to watch. Flipping through Netflix this drama’s trailer seemed to fit the bill and 16 hours later here I am. It’s a first prosopagnosia drama for me so the plot was a novelty and quite interesting in the beginning. The storyline sort of dragged here and there and the pace was slow. The actors did not disappoint although I can’t take the ML’s character together seriously, I mean it is rom-com, yes, but he acts just way toooo childish for a CEO to be. I saw the same actor in a similar-ish role in the Good Doctor, I hope to see him in a more mature, even a villain, role in the future. The main FL is so-so, I wish I could feel her character more but sadly this didn’t happen, in fact she just confused me at times. The ray of light came from the second couple, they brought out the smiles and the laughs from me. The second ML played his character brilliantly and the real Veronica Park was fLawless! She is sooo “annoyingly” funny, I looked forward to her scenes. I mean one can only do her role in only two ways- either really bad or really good. She did it just right! I love her and her character.

I don’t mind the red cardigan but they should look for a different wardrobe manager next time....I mean running on the beach in heels?!? The FL leads’ dresses could be a lot better, like c’mon, I feel like she’s coming straight out of the 80’s in some scenes. Overall, it’s a 7/10 for me and that’s mostly for the real Veronica Park, she is AWESOME !
