At odds with what the Empress is asking of her, Hao Lan sets a plan in motion that not only releases Yi Ren from the punishment of death but also implicates herself. Lu Bu Wei tries to help her but is unable to persuade the Empress of his cause. As the time of her death nears, Yi Ren and Lu Bu Wei try to console her in their own way.
