Encounter Episode 2 Reactions
Episode 2 brings us back from the fleeting warmth of Cuba to the cold weight of reality, where Cha Soohyun and Kim Jinhyuk’s paths cross again under very different circumstances. Their reunion is light but with lot of tension. The silence between them speaks louder than words, especially through Soohyun’s lingering gaze and their smiling greeting. This is where we begin to see the fine line both are trying to draw between professional boundaries and personal emotions, though it’s clear that the barrier won’t hold for long. What makes this episode especially striking is the way it explores their inner lives. For Soohyun, Jinhyuk represents something rare: someone who treats her with sincerity, not as a stepping stone for ambition. Her quiet joy at his companionship feels genuine, untainted by power or obligation. Jinhyuk, in turn, mirrors her feelings but remains cautious. His thoughtful questions and reflective moments reveal his awareness of the challenges posed by their ceo - intern dynamic even if, outwardly, he insists he is unfazed. We also take a step a little bit more into the worlds surrounding each character. Jinhyuk’s warm, lively family life stands in stark contrast to Soohyun’s complicated ties. While the drama nods to the familiar chaebol themes of money, influence, and control, it offers nuance too: her father’s protectiveness suggests he recognizes the toll her sacrifices have taken, whereas her mother remains entangled in schemes of her own. Mild subplots begin to emerge as well. The loyal driver with a long history with Soohyun’s father, the colleagues in Jinhyuk’s team who seem supportive, and Hyein, whose unease hints at an impending love triangle after she pieces together the truth from the tabloid article. Symbolically, the episode marks a turning point for Jinhyuk himself. Cutting his hair to appear more professional signals a new beginning, a conscious step into a life that will inevitably be reshaped by Soohyun. Yet despite the seriousness surrounding them, what makes their bond shine are the simple, genuine moments. Taking a look at the photograph he took back in Cuba , trying to get a teddy bear , laughing during Jinhyuk's drunken evening , exchanging thoughtful little gifts and eating something simple in the rest stop. evening. These aren’t extravagant gestures in grand settings but heartfelt, ordinary experiences that pulse with sincerity.By the end of the episode the story’s arc begins to take shape. The tension between societal expectations and personal desire is more visible, but so too is the tenderness between the leads. The journey ahead promises both obstacles and healing, and it’s already clear that Soohyun and Jinhyuk’s quiet companionship has the power to become something beautiful.

We will see how our main characters continue their life after cominh back to Seoul and how they react when they finally meet again. The MLs reaction of meeting again in the hall was so precious. I am totally sold for this OTP.Lookout for the ending that came unexpectedly for the first week of this drama airing!

Enjoying the reverse rich/poor trope in this drama so far. And they have such great screen chemistry.

I can not believe everything that happened in a single chapter.
Drunken Jin Hyuk was the cherry on the cake in this episode, poor babyboy. I am fascinated. He is carried away by the beauty and simplicity of Soo Hyun and I'm falling so easy for them. I adore them and I really love how the mutual interest they feel little by little becomes more brazen. IN ADDITION THERE IS NO FORCE, THAT IS A TREMENDOUS HIT. From the impressions I had of the first chapter I thought that the chemistry between the characters would not become passionate, but the subtle flirting they share is driving me crazy. Sometimes less is more.
It only gets better and I regret with all my soul that things get complicated so soon.
