Coffee Prince Episode 16 Reactions
My problem with this episode and their entire situation is that she wasn’t willing to leave her family behind to go with him while he followed his dreams but she was willing to leave them AND HIM behind to follow hers. I find that to be so selfish, unreasonable and unacceptable. Granted, there’s no way he’d have left anyway with his grandma being sick but it’s the level of commitment and caring she shows him that I have a HUGE problem with. Don’t get me started on the second and third couples. It’s one thing for us women to be strong and ambitious. It’s another thing to show their men whom they supposedly love that their valued and precious to them. Men have their pride too and these men are all good enough to compromise and give up things to support and accept and love their women as they are (which is SOOOO special and rare). But these women all treat them as afterthoughts. In my opinion, these are all examples of the uglier side of feminism, when it’s taken just a little too far. I absolutely love this drama but could totally understand why men would have become more anti-feminist after watching it.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying they should give up on, or compromise on their dreams and careers. I’m simply saying they should also make more of an effort to show the men they’ve chosen to be with that they’re just as important too. The men work so hard at accepting and understanding these women but the women just don’t seem to give, or be willing to give, the same level of consideration in return. If you flip the script we’d all be calling the men selfish assholes who don’t treat their women very well.
However! I’m really impressed with how well the writer addressed and resolved those concerns. I didn’t feel like I was cheated or forced to accept the men caving to their women. By the end of the episode I was truly at peace with their decisions and with the way each individual handled themselves, without compromising their own convictions. Very nicely done!

I'm a bit surprised.. :D I thought they were going to fight a bit more, but that's not it - Quite the opposite. I'm glad :):)
