Wonder Women (2019)

Don't be fooled by the high ratings for this show

I wonder how this show got a higher rating than many other better shows, this was in no way sophisticated or complex as a 25 episode drama series. Quite cringe worthy for many of the scenes that they had, and the absolute lack of sub plots to follow till the end. All in all, this is a very poor specimen of what a HK drama should be. Rather than building on a story of divorce and failed marriage as a societal problem or phenomenon, this literally only showed the domestic problems of a well-to-do family, I don't know how viewers can get connected with the characters. Very poor show, please give this a miss, this is something you wouldn't ever remember watching for the lack of any brilliant plots or scenes or even characters. Probably, the show got lost in its attempt to portray independent women and overlooked many other aspects of what makes a good series.

To be honest, I was only really excited about this series for actor Raymond Wong. When I saw he was part of the cast, I was like let's watch this. The drama itself is a contemporary series, modern family dynamics, and about loyalty. The main characters portrayed by Miriam Yeung and Pakho Chau were pretty good.

The overall chemistry of the characters worked, but it was also kind of hard to believe. The acting was as expected, but the chemistry really made some moments in the series not so believable.

If you are a Raymond Wong fan, don't expect this series to be anything exciting. His character is kind of a jerk in this one. But that's all I'm going to say. Would recommend to watch if you want to watch a modern story about marriage and relationships.
