Both MLs are motivated by revenge.
No romance
Both fighting corruption.
Both have strong ladies supporting them.

-The same protagonist
-Funny moments ( more so in Chief Kim)
-He plays a much lighter role in Chief Kim, but if you loved him in Doctor Prisoner, you will love him here to

Again the male leads are both in Chief Kim and play really good roles as dark characters.
They deal with crime and law and prison and provide really good storylines with plot twists (though Doctor Prisoner definitely had better plot twists)
There are much stronger partnerships in Confession which makes it less of a one-man fight, but there is still corruption and a large power difference between the good and bad guys.
I hope you enjoy!

Doctor Prisoner centers around an ace doctor in a university hospital’s emergency care center, a skilled professional who treats his patients with full devotion and without discrimination. However, his medical license gets suspended as a result of a medical malpractice incident that arises when the hospital board director causes a ruckus. He then gets his certificate as a medical internist and applies to work at a prison, where his plan is to cozy up to all the bigshots there—business tycoons, celebrities caught for doing drugs, sports stars guilty of gambling—and to win allies, with the ultimate goal of getting revenge against the hospital that ousted him. To do so, he’ll get rid of the existing prison chief doctor and claim the spot for himself.

Revenge, corruption, power scheme are similar themes

Both the medical thriller dramas have leads who've got their medical license revoked due to malpractice and are now working in the field that deals with law

I eerily got reminded how rampant corruption is not only in prison but is related to the medical component in so many different ways as well. This drama is also full of ups and downs.

Both dramas revolve around revenge theme against the rich and powerful for what they believe in. The protagonists both have to use their wits to not fall into the antagonists' control and traps, while trying to convince people of their intentions and gaining allies. Both dramas contains much suspense although Doctor Prisoner may be a bit darker than Graceful Family.

Zhang Jing Yi is the FL in both. The chemistry is natural. The relationship had depth. However, BEITD does not have a satisfactory ending.

Both dramas are korean dramas about doctors which are skilled professional in their field. But they resign and become doctors in prison in order to get revenge.

Both are revenge dramas. Both male leads prepare themselves for a long time to get perfect revenge. And the main reason they both have similar vibe is because both the male leads never lose their game throughout the drama. Although some moments seems to have negative effect , it always turns out that it was all master plan of the lead. Money flower is much darker compared with doctor prisoner. They both have very mild romance although Doctor prisoner shows only hints.

Here are some similarities between the male leads, female leads and the shows.

Male Leads
- Smart & Calculative
- Skilled in their area of expertise (mafia & doctor)
- Seek revenge
- Trying to get rid of corruption
- Fights injustice with injustice
- Both are intimidating & induces fear upon their targets

Female Leads
- One is a lawyer the other a psychiatrist
- Both teamed up with ML's with a shared goal

Show
- They both have very similar vibes
- Have similar tags: suspense, law, crime, revenge, smart male lead, corruption etc.

If I wasn't able to convince you to watch it, just give the first episode a try and you won't be able to stop :P

Both dramas:
> Have a ML looking for revenge and a FL looking for justice/truth.
> Have a psychopathic antagonist who is wealthy and, thus, difficult to bring down.
> The antagonist develops an interest towards the FL (more evident in Voice than Doctor Prisoner).
> Have a strong female lead.
> The ML (Doctor Prisoner) and FL (Voice) assemble a team to bring down a man who hurt them.
> The MLs are charismatic and establish a strong friendship with the FL.
> Art Direction & acting is top-notch.

The smart power play between Dr. Na Yi Je and Dr. Sun Min Shik and others here is similar to the constant power play between Ha Seon and the antagonists in The Crowned Clown. The Crowned Clown has some really intense political twists as well, and every episode is enthralling. Highly recommended!
