A celestial romance carried by an exceptional actress
Angel’s Last Mission: Love is one of those dramas that blend fantasy, emotion, and poetry with unexpected grace. Beneath its celestial romance, the series delves deeply into pain, healing, loneliness, and the possibility of loving again. And if the story resonates so strongly, it is largely thanks to the extraordinary performance of Shin Hae Sun, who carries the drama with rare emotional intensity. The series follows the unlikely encounter between Lee Yeon Seo, a ballerina shattered by loss and trauma, and Kim Dan, a naïve, luminous, and profoundly kind angel. This improbable duo gives birth to a romance that moves between humor, tenderness, and tragedy, without ever losing its emotional thread.
The direction is meticulous, at times almost painterly. The ballet scenes are filmed with remarkable elegance, and the lighting plays a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere: soft, warm, and gently unreal. The soundtrack, delicate and melodic, perfectly supports both the moments of grace and the scenes of pain.
But it is truly Shin Hae Sun who gives the series its depth. She portrays Yeon Seo with a heartbreaking precision: cold yet fragile, harsh yet wounded, proud yet desperately alone. Her emotional range is immense, and she moves effortlessly between anger, fear, tenderness, frustration, love, and sorrow.
Her dance scenes are strikingly realistic—her posture, her tension, her control, the precision of her movements. Everything feels right, as if she had genuinely lived the life of a prima ballerina.
Opposite her, Kim Myung Soo (L) brings a luminous softness, an almost childlike innocence that contrasts beautifully with Yeon Seo’s hardened exterior. Their chemistry works because it rests on a delicate balance: one learns to feel, the other learns to open up.
The series is not without a few melodramatic moments typical of the genre, but it more than compensates with its sincerity, its poetry, and the emotional strength of its two leads.
It is a drama about healing, forgiveness, and second chances — told with rare sensitivity.
When the story ends, you’re left with images of light, dance, tears, and tenderness.
And above all, the certainty that Shin Hae Sun is one of those actresses who can transform a series into an emotional experience.

Rollercoaster drama
What a ride this drama has been. Funny, cute, emotional, dark, you name it.The plot is so complex that I don't even know where to start. Everything is centered around Lee Yeon Soo but the other characters have their conflicts as well. The backstory of Kim Dan seemed so interesting to me. I'm glad the ending was a satisfactory one because the last episodes were so sad. If I had something to object was the fact that the ending was a bit rushed but that's not taking anything from the drama's charm.
The highlight of the acting performances was definitely for me Shin Hye Sun's, absolutely great. Nothing seemed exaggerated in any way whatsoever. L improved a lot. The antagonists played so good!
The OST was just perfect, most OSTs are OK, this one sticks in your mind.
I would rewatch this for sure, once my planned-to-watch list becomes shorter.

Great start, amazing in fact. However, all that glitters isn't gold.
Hear me out. This was one of those dramas I dropped once, then gave a second chance, and then dropped again. That just basically means that this drama just couldn't work for me, no matter how hard I wanted it to.The first 4 episodes are truly entertaining, though. Despite of the annoying side characters, the FL's complex character and the whole concept of an angel with a mission trying to help a broken woman fall in love and ending up falling in love himself is just right up my alley. The cinematography and production quality is excellent, and the story starting off was so full of potential and hope. The dynamics between the FL and ML was really good, and some scenes from the first 4 episodes are very memorable. Shin Hye Sun's acting is BRILLIANT in this drama, unbelievably good. And the OST? My god. I still have 'Pray' by Klang on replay.
However, the second half ain't so much fun. The ML starts to look more like a supporting character for some reason. I don't know if it was his overall character losing its spark, or that he began to have less scenes. The 2ML was too much integrated into the plot than I would've liked, and maybe that's why the 1ML started to blend with the background. But it's not like it was second lead syndrome or anything, the 2ML's character itself is annoying despite of all the backstory and he didn't have any chemistry with the FL. And the whole ballet institute inheritance drama and the FL's evil aunt drama was becoming too tedious, almost makjang-ish. Now, I have nothing against a good makjang. But I do have a lot against it if it's inserted into a drama that has a ton of potential to be something epic and deep.
All in all, it's not a bad drama. It definitely has many positive points about it, and maybe I'll tune into it AGAIN to really put myself at peace. But for now, the inconsistency in writing and the frustrating side characters keeps me from enjoying this.

I'm so confused
Is there something wrong with me? Based on the reviews even if this wasn't a masterpiece I should have atleast been able to finish this drama, but I just couldn't. I finished episode 5 and realised a didn't enjoy a single aspect of it. On the contrary, I just wished for the episodes to end as soon as possible.Despite the intriguing first episode, the drama falls flatter than flat.
The characters are not interesting, just caricatures of people that only exist in kdramaland.
The chemistry between the mains non existent.
The plot has nothing to offer.
Ultimatetly I was utterly bored.

Which "God" that writer pointed in this drama?
First, the plot looked promising in the beginning but this one became a mess after further episodes. This drama hinted obvious christianity elements, like bible sentences, church, and also cross symbols. If she wants to use christianity as the base religion, then the writer needs to make it right. The way writer described "God" in this story is a wrong one. Since when God needs an angel to escort animal into heaven? They are not human and they dont have spirit. Since when God used fallen angel (black angel) to eliminate another angels? Also, since when, the fallen angel remained as a immortal human like Ji Kang Woo? Fallen angel is a devil. Also, Christian God is a God that full of love. Our relationship with Him is like father and children. He always has unconditional love that nobody can ever offered the same love. So, why the drama described Him as a mean and jealous god? We lived in new testament era when Jesus Christ already did the redemption for every sins that people commited. As long as we believe in Him, we will be saved. Its an act of unconditional love for mankind. If the writer wanna create such her own fantasy god then no need to use bible verse and christian symbols. The worst case, this drama can leads people to be confused and make the misunderstanding. Was this review helpful to you?
