This could have been the best drama of 2019. The first episodes were mind blowing: great acting, lovable characters (even Yeonseo) who had an interesting background, exciting plot (especially since angels are my favorite supernatural creature) and an amazing soundtrack. Unfortunately, the only thing that held up until the end of the drama was the amazing soundtrack. I liked every single one of the songs that played throughout the show. The rest of the elements simply didn't correspond to the expectations I had created during the first few episodes. However, I remained excited until the end though, wishing there was some kind of redemption and the plot they were wasting with Director Ji and Nina, those strange whispers that were always following the oldest sister and the crazy teacher would eventually have some space in the show. Not only were those stories wasted, the main story ended with more than 7 plot holes (that I noticed/could count). I'll give some examples: they didn't explain Dan's life as an angel (if he died when he was little, when he became an angel was he already a grown man? Did he simply wake up as an angel?); why did the Archangel and the elder man suffer God's punishment (as well as the director who lost his lover) but not the main couple?; Dan said that maybe his relationship with Yeonseo would also help the director somehow but ??? His goal in life was to put up a good Giselle performance?????; is the director immortal?; Why did the Archangel kill that man? HIS POWERS CAN DO ANYTHING!!!! HE COULD HAVE JUST LEFT HIM UNCONSCIOUS!etc etc
I honestly thought the sister was possessed or was a dark angel or something. And I also though the Director had more importance to the story other than to give some information that wasn't even that useful since they used the "Only God knows why" card every time.I was very disappointed.
And some characters were so lovable at first but then they lost a bit of their magic. I mean, do you want me to believe Dan, a literal angel, who saved abandoned dogs and protected a child from getting hit by a car, who is very smart and knows there are other ways to punish people, would try to kill someone??????????????????? Knowing that she was already being investigated?????????? Try again.
Never thought I'd say this but my favorite characters ended up being Butler Jung. At first her personality wasn't that good but in the end she proved she was like an older sister to Yeonseo.
So this is why I don't give this show a higher rating. But 8 stars isn't a bad rating at all then why am I even giving it such a good score when I pointed all the flaws in it? Well... the visuals were great...

THE CHEMISTRY!!!
I started watching this completely on a whim and was immediately pulled in by the overwhelming chemistry between the leads! This show also has such a binge-worthy storyline, you can't stop once you've started, really. Add to that THE OST, and you've got a perfect kdrama blend. Also want to add that the balance of the romance, comedic moments, and melodrama was reminiscent of OG kdrama hits, haven't seen a kdrama have such balance for awhile since this came out.

This drama is a beautiful fantasy romance genre. Shin Hye Sun was amazing, how she portrayed at first what seemed arrogance, then sweetness sadness depression. She was really great at doing desperate Giselle. Kim Myung Soo was doing good too. The special effects were very beautiful, the soundtrack heartbreaking while it had to be. Keum Ru Na and Jin Su were frightning hh, the Hu Sunbae very funny. What bothered me was the religious part, I didn't like seeing God described as they did in the drama. Writing dramas then attributing, even if everybody knows it's just a drama, attributing facts to God, it made me unconfortable,
Happy about the end a 9.5 drama for me...

The premise is intriguing. But it's unclear who would want to stick with this. If you are a ballet lover, there's actually very little exposure to the craft and 'behind the scenes' of ballet. If you like family dramas with evil relatives, the 'villains' are exposed in the first few episodes and do not change their strategies or motivations some 20 episodes later. If you are intrigued by the the fantasy/supernatural elements, this world is not fully developed, explained or exposed.
What kept me watching is the angel's struggles with being human, and the lead ballerinas struggles getting back into ballet. But, this resolves some 20 episodes in - and then there was nothing left to keep watching. Indeed, the plot was being dragged on without exposing any new complexities in either plot or character development.
The acting of the two main leads is endearing and competent. Music has its atmospheric moments, but neither can make up for the plot.
The big philosophy questions of our existence are of course, why do bad things happen to innocent/good people? What causes a person to harm their friends, family and community? But 20 episodes in, I couldn't trust the writers to answer these questions in a way that I'd be happy with. I thought best to drop it, while I still have some fond memories of the earlier parts.

⛔️(SPOILERS BELOW)⛔️
Characters Likability:
HERO: He was not convincing. He was not affectionate enough and he was not natural about it. He was more of a comedian than a romantic male lead. Also, for a large part of the middle of the story, he kept running away from her. This got repetitive and annoying. He was more committed by the last quarter of the season. I had another problem, I needed closure on the after story, he’s an angel, is he going to get a job? Is she going to financially support him the whole of their lives, I needed that tied up and answered. Sorry, I watch these things for the fantasy and the male lead should be more than her secretary for the rest of their lives.
HEROINE: She was tortured, angry, difficult but I still liked her. She was so devoted to the Hero. But, she fell in love so fast, I really did not see the build, it was an insta-love type situation. Acting-wise, I enjoyed her range and her consistency throughout the whole series. She did chase him, A LOT.
The Couple’s Connection:
The first stage of their connection was enemies to lovers and this was the best part, I especially liked the food fight. Their fighting was so funny and the heroine was fierce and I enjoyed it. Getting to the commitment stage was problematic, she chased him, asked him to marry her and it just kept going. They seemed to settle on the dynamic of she was the leader and he was the follower. I liked how the love story played out in the end, with a separation then a quiet reuniting. I was thinking the Deity probably made the Hero a human because all he did all day was watch her and probably wasn’t doing his job anymore anyway.
SUMMARY
My favorite things:
The build, the enemies to lovers portion of the story
The ending of their love story
The snippets of scenes they were being sweet together, the quiet moments, the domestic times; they were sprinkled throughout the season. There was not enough in the last quarter of the season but they were consistent throughout.
I don’t normally like a 3rd act separation/breakup but it was relevant to the story here, so it was fine for me
I liked most of the other characters
What I didn’t like:
The annoying mystery suspense subplot, took up too much air time
The other man drama was present from like episode 2 to 12
The Hero had commitment issues, understandable reasons, but it lasted too long and was not handled well
I liked the ending but the couple gets together and we fade to credits and I don’t like that. I wanted to spend more time with them being a couple. By the time I got the last quarter of this, I didn’t care about the couple anymore because all the other distractions took away from the romance.
Should you watch this if you are a ROMANCE PURIST, for the feels: NO
Is this worth a re-watch: NO
Romance to SubPlot Ratio: 60-40

indeed a tearjerker!
it’s been a long time since I watched such an emotional tear-jerking drama. this drama was really heart-touching. let’s break down the aspects one by one & how it could have improved too:STORY: the story is very good. although no major modifications are needed in the story, I do think a few more elements should have been added to make it more entertaining. I loved the drama overall, but I would not deny and say that I didn’t force myself to get through a few episodes because of how boring it was getting. the starting was good, the ending was awesome, especially the last 3 episodes. I think the idea of them falling in love with each-other *gradually* wasn’t really well executed. it just happened suddenly, kind of. also, the genre also includes comedy, which was very little to zero. at first it did have funny stuff going on, which only lasted up until episode 5, I guess. overall the drama was good, though it should not be characterized as a rom-com because they really forgot to put the “com” here. the “rom” was satisfactory though. I personally liked the story.
ACTING: I have no words. shin hyesun has never not served and I never think twice before giving her a 10/10 for acting. kim myungsoo, despite being a kpop idol (as idols have a history of sucking at acting, exceptions excluded), acted so well. supporting actors were all good, no real complaints about acting.
SOUNDTRACK: the soundtrack was very good, some of the songs are on their way to become evergreen in my playlists.
OVERALL REVIEW: good, you should watch it if you’re into tearjerkers. and sacrificial love. and tongue kisses. personally I’m into all three of these so I liked the drama.

Don't even think twice before watching this
The plot, cinematography, chemistry, acting , ost... Literally everything is perfect. It's my second most fav drama ever after goblin. Shin hye sun is a brilliant actress and I watched it for her. She did an amazing job, and the dance routines recorded were visually pleasing. I could watch this drama any day. It was funny, sad , cute and everything I wanted in a drama. Male lead is very endearing and the kiss scenes were swoon worthy as well. Second lead is the most annoying guy I've ever met. But that was his role and ig he did a fine job. Nina should've been explored a little more but nonetheless it was hard to dislike her. The elder sister was beautiful and her acting was amazing. I loved her. The casting was literally perfectWas this review helpful to you?

In the beginning, I wasn't really sold on the premise for this drama, mainly because of how they wrote FL as a bitter, selfish woman who uses her moneyed status to intimidate people. But the ML breathe life into her sad and forlorn existence was worth watching the show. Shin Hye Sun's acting chops are versatile, having watched her a few other dramas, and she is great as the prima ballerina Lee Yeon Seo who was blinded by an accident and with it, robbed her of whatever humanity she had left in her body. Enter Kim Myung Soo as Kim Dan, an angel with an equally angelic face, whose mission was to find a cynical, spoiled brat the true love that she apparently deserves. Surprisingly, Lee Yeon Seo gives in to their push and pull, and it seems like Kim Dan has tamed the shrew, but not without a few sacrifices of his own.
The rest of the cast delivered, from Ji Kang Woo as the long-suffering Lee Dong Gun who lost his wife who is Yeon Seo's doppelganger to Kim Bo Mi, who plays as the over-looked second-rate ballerina who deserves the spotlight as much as Yeon Seo, but was held back by family politics. The suspenseful dramatics were held by Yeon Seo's family whose eagerness to claim Fantasia's throne and misplaced affection, led some of them to heinous dealings.
Though I bawled my eyes out half of the time, the drama exceeded my expectations in that in dealt with the different types of love and sacrifices that people make for love.

Fun aside, "Angel's Last Mission : Love" started like a fairy tale. The drama was filled with dancing and music and top notch aesthetics. The leading lady was great, as she managed to dance and to performe like a real ballarina. She had chemistry with her partner as well and that helped the love story a lot.
The universe with the angels and everything was well built as well. It was interesting and intriguing. Plus, the dramatic past stories were really good.
However, the drama got predictable and boring towards the ending. The family drama was not original, the love story was too cliche and the last twist just okay.
So, seven out of ten.

The cinematography was gorgeous, the OST went great with the show and the leads were amazing individually and also as a couple. They had beautiful, wonderful chemistry. Supporting characters did a phenomenal job, too.
The forbidden-love aspect of this drama was its strongest point, but as I said, it got repetitive and boring in how the plot progression was approached. I think either other conflicts should have been introduced, or if not, the show should have been cut down to fewer episodes.

A heart warming drama
I Gotta admit Shin Hye Sun (Lee Yeon Seo) has given the best performance. I really loved her acting. After Mr. Queen, I am seeing her next drama. What a charisma and one-to-one connection can be developed with her and the viewers. The Drama lets you hook up in just 4 episodes and the rest is a tireless ride with emotions spawning all the way.
Both the leads develop their romance cycle after 14 episodes or so. But still, I personally felt an attachment with these two.
Kim Myung Soo and Shin Hye Sun nailed it..... The story hits you hard in the brain. Direction is also good with good cinematography and the plot is decent with very little cliche in it,
OST is worth listening to. GO check it out.
