Super cute
I heard this got bad ratings, but as a cat lover, I couldn’t resist a drama about a cat who can turn into a handsome guy… and I’m glad I gave it a chance for myself! It was cute and sweet and fun, and the unique concept prevented it from feeling insipid as well as giving the couple a genuine obstacle. I'm not sure why it did so poorly; it's not a groundbreaking drama but there's nothing really wrong with it. There were a few plot-holey things and the FL could be a bit frustrating, and it dragged somewhat toward the end, but regardless I found myself smiling a lot and enjoying all the cat-like moments from the ML. I also appreciated the message about not taking your loved ones for granted.Was this review helpful to you?

Very cute and fluffy drama
For what I was expecting for this type of show- something very simple and cute- I really enjoyed it. I thought all the acting was really good, especially Kim Myungsoo. He was hilariously clueless and adorable and really seemed like a cat.Overall this drama was super cute and funny, but Jae Sun’s relationship with his family was genuinely emotional. I cried during the funeral scene- I didn’t expect to be so affected by anything in this show. I enjoyed all the characters and their interactions, and the only downside of this show for me was that the workplace stuff was sometimes a tiny bit slower paced.
Honestly I think people are sometimes too harsh on this show- in my opinion all the characters are likable, and the drama is so cute that it makes me squeal. The idea of a cat male lead is a bit strange, but he’s as mentally capable as a human- it’s not much weirder than an alien or gumiho lead. This show is just cute and simple and comforting like a hug. This is why I rated it a 9- obviously it’s a different type of 9 than I would give to like, Vincenzo for example. I think that different types of shows and genres aren’t usually comparable like that and deserve their own rating system. I really enjoyed this drama and if you’re looking for something really sweet, I’d recommend it.

Unique and refreshing
It's good to start watching something without any expectations so you can be pleasantly surprised. The beginning was slow paced but enjoyable. It had a certain mystery and everything went in the right direction even in the last episodes. The ending was a bit ambiguous for me because some things don't add up but I won't go into detail since I don't want to spoil anything.I really liked the characters and the acting! I really enjoyed the character developments.
Music was cute just like all those cats that appeared in the show!
It is a drama to rewatch because of the fresh feel that it gives.

The plot interested me at first but as I watched it i felt as if everything was just going on and on but nothing was happening. Barely any chemistry between the characters and there was a lot of confusion at the beginning for me. Sure it was kind of cute but bland. Nothing happens between the characters besides what? Hugging and emotionally supporting each other. At episode 13 I hadn't even seen a kiss between the 2 main characters; and there are 24 episodes in total! The acting wasn't bad, the story could be way better but it is okay. I would not rewatch this and I would not recommend this to anyone. I dropped it like a hot potato Was this review helpful to you?

Ok let me give my review. Though I may sound a little bias here since I am a fan of Kim Myung Soo, I'll give my honest review. The first episode is a slow pace because they are introducing each character and it focused on sol-ah's unrequited love for the second lead which I don't like at first. But, as the drama progress, you will find your self attached to the drama. The drama itself is light, heartwarming, fluffy, cuteness overload (especially the cat). The chemistry between the lead is daebak (awesome) plus the side couple too. You will eventually fall for this drama. You may find yourself laughing and crying. Each episode keeps getting better and interesting. Now that the drama is halfway through, I'm expecting some twist (a mystery or unraveling the truth about how Hong Jo is able to turn into human form ) then the developing romance between Hong Jo and Sol-ah. Oh don't forget the OSTs. It matches every scene. So is it really worth watching? Definitely yes. Highly recommended. Don't be swayed by its poor rating. Exactly what I needed! I started this dorama thanks to the cast and the plot was simple so exactly what I needed! Cute, fluffy and light story. I like the separation of a cat person and a dog person.
Sol Ah, for now, is a good female lead but I saw some red flags. We'll see.
Hong Jo is the cutest and L is perfect for this role!
Lee Jae Sun is not exactly a typical second lead, have a deeper story and he isn't annoying for now.
For now, this drama is interesting and calming.

Because this show is silly.
And I don't mean that it's trash or that it's lightweight or that it's fluffy (you could argue it's all those things). I mean it's deeply deeply silly, from its basic premise to its unfolding plot to its source of conflict.
A brilliantly-cast Cat plays L, a feline that turns into a man. L tries to act too. This is not pretty. Hopefully the cat can give him some pointers while he's on set. Seriously, this Cat Sunbae is brilliant and actually looks like L. Except of course that Cat Sunbae can act.
The cat is taken in by an aspiring webtoon artist Kim Sol-ah (Shin Ye-eun). Sol-ah behaves like a 12 year old mostly, simpering and floundering and fulfilling every rant I ever made about Korean dramas infantilising their female leads. Shin Ye-eun is good here, I stress. It's the part she's playing that I don't like.
Sol-ah takes in the Cat (she renames it Hong-joo) to help out the man she's been crushing on since highschool who inherited the Cat from his recent breakup (or did he?). At one point we find out why her crush bailed on her in the past and it's very very silly (are you sensing a theme).
Hong-joo found out he could become human as a kitten when he turned into a child in her presence. The show then delights us with scenes of her as a full-grown adult with an adoring child. He then grows up, becoming a large man who follows her around, listens in on her conversations, changes into a human in her bed at night, pervs on her while she's changing, and generally behaves like a huge creepster. The first few episodes are basically a horror film with weirdly upbeat music.
Uncertain as to whether it's about bestiality, paedophilia, or a delightful romcom about a woman and her stalker, the show kind of embraces all three.
Sit back, relax and enjoy new conversational material such as, "Can a cat consent?", "Is it stalking if she let him into the house in his cat form?", and "Is it romantic if he imprinted on her when he was a baby and she was a full-grown woman?".
Or just suspend all your disbelief, turn off that squidgy thing in your head that won't shut up, and embrace the silly. It's up to you.

it is crazy how much a show can change over the episodes haha. i ended up not finishing this show and dropping it. it just became boring for me and i honestly lost all interest in characters. i was really hoping for a heart-fluttering romance with lots of cute scenes between the main leads but i think the writers were trying to steer this story in a somewhat serious and emotional direction. i adore emotional stories, however the balance here seemed...off. it was not serious or emotional enough to make me intrigued but also not cute enough to make me smile. more and more cliches were added as the story continued to become more confusing. the episodes feel kind of draggy and i feel myself not caring much about the characters. i think this drama had a lot of potential and they could have made it into the cutest fluffy show, but instead they are dragged it on :(
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
'meow, the secret boy' is the perfect watch if you want something fluffy and cute! the characters are very endearing and the music well compliments their tone. tbh i was initially a little critical of this drama but i still really wanted to start it because of the cast. and luckily, the show really surprised me! i am very content with how the team is delivering everything so far; the scenes are beautiful, the story is simple, and the characters are lovely. throughout my whole watch, i had a big smile on my face and my heart just felt all fuzzy ヅ
the first episode was a bit slower (i still enjoyed it tho!) but the second episode really picked things up. there was heart-fluttering romance, comedy that made me laugh, and even some slightly emotional scenes. if this drama continues to be as good as the first two episodes were, then i would call it the epitome of a fluffy rom-com haha
i would definitely recommend this show if you need a light-hearted watch. be prepared to not think too deep into everything. as you can tell by the synopsis, the show is based off of a webtoon that has some fantasy elements, thus there may be things that do not make much sense. i have had a pet cat in the past and am currently studying biology in university, thus there were quite a few things that made me go 'uh that's not possible...' at the back of my head. but, i decided to just ignore reality and instead focus on what is happening in the moment. as a result, i was really able to enjoy the first two episodes.
please also note that the romance in this show is NOT between a cat and a human. the male lead in the show is able to shapeshift between a human and a cat. now of course, this is not realistically possible. but if it were, you have to realize than when hong jo switches to his human form, he is human. his memories may be from his time as a cat, but in his human form, he has the brain of a human. thus, his brain is far more developed and he is able to display intelligence. his human biology is bound to contribute to his more complex emotions and actions. as a result, the romance is being built between a human and a human. thus, i don't think we should be comparing hong jo to our own pets haha. just a thought ((: overall, i think this is the type of show where you need to put away your common sense to enjoy the nice feels the show has to offer ((:

Okay HOLD UP
Sure, on paper this show sounds ridiculous, but I cannot help that I absolutely love it. It is a tender show that just makes you in a better mood at the end than you were when you began the episode. Whenever I'm feeling low, this show is a ticket to ending the day on a higher note.There is no member of the cast that does a poor job, which is high praise. Usually, I find the main FL of shows to be rather boring and annoying, but Shin Ye Eun is not (and her acting skills are proven again in a later role in The Glory).
L and Kang Hoon are a joy.
I don't really remember the music, tbh, but that is also sometimes a good thing. The music isn't distracting and fits the scenes as it should.

comedy and healing
its a healing drama. for those who focus on studies and work, you can watch this to release your heavy worry on your real life works. the plot is really light. heartwarming, healing, and comedy which will make you laugh a lot. love! watched because of kim myungsoo. people with heavy drama watchers might not suitable to watch this because it doesnt really have a plot. its just for healing purpose with handsome namja in the drama. i watched it on viu because viki rakuten in malaysia doesnt hv this story my second time rewatching this because i wanna support kim myung soo with his actor work. i was planning to buy his membership to support him and his new company but i am still a student so maybe need to wait until i am working. his membership is like 27$ or rm130 but thinking about the postage from korea to malaysia might be quite pricey so i will just buy seo in guk albums to homeWas this review helpful to you?
