Binge watched this drama on netflix the weekend it finished airing.
This drama is really underrated. At the beginning you might feel lost but as you keep on opening the beautiful pages(or as we call episodes) of this masterpiece you will get to know how deep and simple it is.
This drama is based on food.
Yes, I said food..!!
It is based on life of a girl whose love for food is out of this world and a boy who is running away from his life towards something that he actually never wanted.
This story is all about the beautiful memories in our life that are somehow associated with food.

Empathy and Healing
I had watched this series twice.First reason is because of Yoon Kye Sang and Ha Ji Won.
Second is to understand more deeply the main characters and the people surrounding them.
The whole story with flashback from their childhood reveals little by little who they were and the reason who they are in the present. Some people may think of it as depressing, too much opposition, the wicked powerful seem to win, the struggles of those who just want to accomplish their purpose in life but found so many hindrances.
The Actors
Both Kye Sang and Ji Won have displayed their characters as matured people who have been honed by the challenges of life. They are the type of people who seek to understand the people they interact with and along the way, found themselves more and more involved with each other. It is good that there was no hate between them, but perhaps some kind of misunderstanding only of their past. I love how their love story unfolded and how they were healed together.
The antagonistic relatives of Dr. Kang did deliver well their hateful characters that sometimes you would like to smack them to stop their whining and fighting.
I think the most transformed character is that of Lee Joon. All his life, he hated Lee Kang but didn't really understand why. As the story unfold, he gets to see the true colors of his parents and learn to make his own choices.
The Story
I think 80% of this series is focused on several people dying. It gives us a picture that death is inevitable. It shows how friends and family are important in one's life while we are living. It teaches us how to be compassionate and more understanding towards those who are suffering. It presents to us the value of life is far and above ambitions and riches. We may not have seen what will happen to the hospice as both Lee Kang and Cha Young are in Greece at the end of the series. It just gives us hope that together, they can help others heal also wherever they may be.

Surprisingly entertaining
I had a hard time starting this drama. As much as I respect Ha Jiwon, I had doubts if I'll enjoy her act with this genre. The first few episodes had too much going on that it could be a reason for others to drop it midway. The lead guy, seems too indifferent and I was starting to doubt if I'll love their chemistry. But as the plot loosens up, I began appreciating their effort to highlight food and it's impact to people. The love they portrayed was tender and warm that upon ending this drama, I began to search for other dramas of the same genre. Was this review helpful to you?

My rating was all over the place as I watched
Overall, I really liked this drama, with the assistance of my fast forward button. I had to skip over her terrible brother and his entire family (other than the cousin). They were all simply terrible, and they were jarring compared to the rest of the drama.Yoon Kye Sang was wonderful. I've not seen him in anything else (now I'll be on the lookout!) but I loved his characterization of Lee Kang. The despair, the loneliness, the invisible wall built around himself keeping others at bay. He's got such a great face, his vulnerability shone through. It was a treat to watch him slowly open up and watching him not able to control or figure out what his feelings were, taking advice from a child, acting out of character. My only problem came when he lied to ChaYoung about his mother. I think that was an important part of the healing process for both of them.
Ha Ji Won as Cha Young was good, I just had a problem with her character. She reminded me of Eeyore, carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders.
Jang Seung Jo as Lee Joon was terrific as Lee Kang's cousin. I loved watching their relationship progress (If you've not seen them, he was great in The Good Detective 1&2).
The pace throughout was slow and calm. I, personally, liked all of the hospice cases. We got to see our ML and FL be changed by those they encountered. Through sadness, my takeaway was to live fully and completely every day, cherishing the time you have and those that you love.
The OST was wonderful.
All of the cooking/eating scenes were a feast for the senses.
It was beautifully filmed, the locales as well as the lighting, camera angles, etc.
I think I would have given this drama at least an eight, but the time skip and her leaving out of the blue just made no sense. She'd finally gotten closure on things, was with the man she loved and said, "Give me some time, don't wait for me." What the heck!?!?! It was a cop-out to say the least. We could have gotten a lot of lovely scenes with the leads, a happy ending, some closure, but no...she continued to be depressed and morose even toward the end! It was a happy ending, just poorly done.

It's melodrama ^^
I started to watch this because of Ha Ji Won. I have been watch her drama like Damo, Secret Garden, King 2 Hearts, Empress Ki, The time we were in love and Hospital Playlist ( this one just being hold, and try to finished it when I have the mood ^,^)I watch 4 episodes for trial at first , and then I stuck. Then I started to watch again, since I have high expectation for this drama because of the writer. She was good in some melancholic drama. It's been my favorite likes: Sorry I love You, Innocent Man, A love to kill.
I gain my interest again and start to continue this drama, but after I reach to eps 7 and so on...I start to bored and for me the plot is too slow. The main lead was good, also the supporting roles. But, this drama cannot caught my heart. The music was very beautiful to support this drama, but too sad I must dropped this one until episode 13. Maybe it just not my like. Despite of all, I really really enjoy the soundtrack :)

What touched me the most is how the drama teaches us to appreciate life — to be grateful for the moments we have, to never take things for granted, and to spend our time with the people who matter most. It carries such a gentle yet powerful message about love, loss, and cherishing what is truly precious.
And I can’t forget to mention the OST. The music is absolutely beautiful, with melodies that reach deep into the heart and soul, perfectly complementing the emotions of the story. It stayed with me long after the final episode ended.

I'd rather watch paint dry
One word: Boring.I'm not sure what this drama wanted to achieve. It was slow, cliched (the infamous kdrama meeting as children trope and chaebol patriarch with secret lovechild trope) and I'm not sure what the point of this show was? I skipped around because it was SO SLOW and the only good thing was the nice scenery of Greece. This show is touted as "healing" by some reviews but I felt anything but that. In fact I felt annoyed because nothing was happening. Also the ending sucked apparently from what I read but I can't confirm this as I was wasn't willing to stick around and find out. At least the acting was decent.
