Great character building and full of emotions

Great crime drama, with a slow pace and not much action. Instead, you get to know the characters and feel for them, rooting for them. I was on the edge of my seat as the suspense and atmosphere building were amazing. I love how they uncovered the truth bit by bit. The production and screenwriting are amazing. Also I like how they connected the past and present. The acting was great, especially Park Hoon, who did a great job portraying his character. I loved the friendship between Young Jin and Eun Ho, as well as the rest of their friends; they became like a family. The villains did an amazing job; I kind of felt sorry for them.
Definitely recommend watching it if you are looking for a drama that concentrates on emotion instead of action.

Flawed and strong female lead and her neighbors, no romance

This is a very interesting revenge and feminist kdrama

So FL is a tough cookie detective pursuing revenge for like 20 years.

What struck me is that the FL is very flawed, she keeps being mental and missing the clues, making mistakes and causing danger and trouble to others....

On the other hand, she is smart so she eventually gets it and fixes it
I was impressed with her ability to connect the dots

There is kinda sorta someone who likes her but it never happens in the drama, maybe at the end and later, there are hints...

So this kdrama is really about healing, overcoming the past, overcoming the reason she wanted revenge, and yeah catching the criminal

This is a classy series. It may seem like an odd word to describe a crime-based genre, but for me, it is a fitting description. This one doesn't have the type of melodrama infusion that is sometimes typical (no intense cliffhangers at the end of each episode) but is instead, a steady captivation. Because of its pacing, it really hones in on the gradual evolution of the relationships, unfolding of linkages, and the peeling back of butterfly effect layers that were caused by a multitude of events.

At the same time, although there really isn't a glaring lull, the first half of the series was particularly prolonged and the flashbacks bordered excessive. I did find myself fast-forwarding every so often but not in the way where it deterred too much from the enjoyment. Instead of repeat flashbacks, providing more background on some of the supporting characters would have taken this up a notch.

Nevertheless, would recommend it for the days when you're in the right mood for its pacing.

MUST WATCH if you want to rewind and feel a little better!

My Opinion:- 4.5/5
Though I am late by more than a year to watch this, but it's never too late to watch an amazing piece of this level.
The cast was correctly chosen, Kim Seo-Hyung as Detective Cha Young Jin, doesn't at all care about her age and is doing fantastic and hopefully she can continue her brilliance like ever before. (Please give her less serious roles now, enough of stereotyping her).
Ko Eun Ho was amazing.

And Especially Baek Sang Ho, (Park Joon), was an extraordinary villain in his case. Totally fearless and dangerous, egotistical, narcissistic. Wow, like sometimes he literally made me want to tear him off, and that's why he succeeded perfectly as a villain, posing like a God.
Rest that gospel, resurrection, I feel sometimes it was overdid and overhyped at some points. And 16 episodes could be easily fitted into 10 or something. So it's okay. But Its easily rewatchable.

This drama made me want to write a review for the first time. Cha Youngjin is not only intelligent but her intelligence remains throughout the drama. She is loving and competent and I love her little gang of kids. Cha Youngjin remained true to her character and seeing her evolve from beginning where she didn't really want to build relationships to the end where she let her burdens down was truly amazing
Baek Sangho was also a true star originally you detest him and his crazed look brings attention to him however by the end of the drama you grow a little sympathy for him" what would he have been had he met someone like Youngjin?''
Eunho makes this drama worth watching he adds the light to the darkness... the little kid trying to fulfill big shoes. His kindness and character makes you root for him and hug. The actor portrayed the youth and maturity of Eunho so well . Episode 13 really showed how he was trying to be brave in hard times.
I recommend this drama for everyone who doesn't like the typical detective drama and wants rational yet kind leads. This drama makes you root for everyone and make them happy. Only thing I disliked was the irrationality of Baek Sangho during the last episode however that could be explained by his breakdown by the end.

When a Crime Story Becomes Something More

Nobody Knows is a dark and deeply emotional drama that quickly pulls you in with its intense atmosphere and strong story. It focuses on the investigation of a serial killer, but it's far more than just a crime show. Each episode is full of suspense, and there's never a dull moment. I found myself thinking constantly, trying to piece together all the clues and understand what was really happening. The mystery is layered and complex in a way that keeps your mind engaged throughout the series.

What stands out the most are the incredible performances. Kim Seo-hyung delivers a powerful portrayal of Cha Young-jin, a detective haunted by her past. Her character is quiet and reserved, yet full of emotional depth. I also have to highlight Ahn Ji-ho, who played Go Eun-ho. He was truly outstanding, especially considering how young he was at the time. His performance was natural and deeply moving, and some of the most emotional scenes in the series come from him.

The drama doesn't rely on fast-paced action but builds tension through its storytelling, character development, and psychological depth. Every episode brings new questions, twists, and emotional moments. The cinematography, lighting, and music all help create a moody and immersive experience that fits the story perfectly.

Overall, Nobody Knows is a brilliant drama that blends crime, emotion, and human psychology in a thoughtful and gripping way. It left a strong impression on me, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys serious, well-acted, and emotionally powerful stories.

Frustrating, but worth the watch

Watching this drama feels like cutting a never-ending onion layers. I get that the writers are trying to tie all of the stories together but there are too many coincidences, for instance, the boy saves a life of a man who gave him a mysterious book, which contains the codes of some sort or serial killing proofs that happened to the lead's friend, who happens to be the boy's best friend/neighbor. In my opinion, this storyline is too riled up, maybe if you love riled up drama that are full of surprises, this is a drama for you. I'm kind of impatient and doesn't really enjoy draggy kind of drama, so this drama gave me a headache. Plus this mystery drama explains everything including how everything connected near the end of the series.

However, I still keep going because the actors did such a great job portraying their characters, to be honest. they are so good that because the plot is riled up, my head hurts watching this because I get too immersed in each characters.

What usually draws me into these Korean dramas besides the story synopsis is the reviews. This drama received high marks from viewers like me so I went in anticipating on binging on a good drama.

For the most part it was good. I absolutely love the Korean police dramas because it involves a chemistry that is absolutely awesome to me. Plus there's some fighting in between and anybody who's ever read any of my reviews will see that I watch Korean dramas mainly for the action which involves martial art skills.

This drama however really really moved at a snails pace until about the 10th episode for me.

For one it was hard trying to enjoy the main FL because she resembled a anorexic male in my eyes. They say the camera adds 10 pounds but by golly this person was so thin I could see some of the skeletal system when they showed her in a wife beater from behind. It was horrifying and needless to say they showed her wearing more clothes thankfully.
She was so thin but yet she was able to take on a few guys including the biggest one: Ko Hee Dong played by
Tae Won Seok. He's been one of my favorite Korean actors since I first saw him in Player.

Aside from this drama moving at a snails pace I thoroughly enjoyed every cast member in this. The chemistry between the three classmates was so funny and endearing.
I loved the fact that everybody was able to get along with each other despite the age difference. It kind of creeped me out in the beginning but I soon felt at ease because of how the story line was written.

There was one scenario that was talked about that didn't even have any type of closer. One thing I hate about Korean dramas is that they cover so much in these episodes that a lot of scenarios gets left out.
Also one of the things that makes me cautious about watching a 16 episode drama is that the last episode. Most of the time it's a miss. Rarely do I get a few that get hits and this one almost had a miss. One scene in particular dragged on and on. It got to the point where I was lost concerning the meaning behind the 'stigmata killer' because it absolutely made no sense-to me-but the creators seemed to have made it work.
Plus I didn't binge on this because of how slow it was. Bad on my part because I suck at names and by the time I went back to finish I forgot who was who.
It's an enjoyable drama none the less.

Good

The drama started with a compelling and impactful beginning, yet the subsequent portions failed to maintain the same level. It's also being heavily carried by Kim Seo Hyung while other elements gradually started to fall apart in one way or another. The hotel plotline felt somewhat unconvincing within the overarching narrative, lacking a sufficient sense of coherence. Moreover, the drama exhibited a lack of dedicated investment in any particular genre, instead dabbling intermittently in different genres. Although the characters were well fleshed out, yet, the baddies group, aside from the main guy, came across as somewhat exaggerated and cartoonish. The drama also needed some consistency with its direction, it was swinging between serious and symbolic distraction. Nonetheless, there are still several commendable aspects to appreciate within the drama. The calm and immersive investigative atmosphere, supported by engaging dialogue and captivating cinematography are amongst the things to look forward to.

Another underrated drama. I loved this one. My first time watching Kim seo hyung and falling for her.
A slice of life, mystery, investigation genre including some cult stuff. Story is about friendship between cha young jin and a kid eun ho. Later when he was found badly injured she gets to investigate and finds out many shocking facts.
I really liked the bond, the friendship between cha young jin and eunho, also the relation between her and the senior detective, how thankful she is towards him and when she cried for him. also how the senior detective acts with the kids showed how genuine he is. The teacher Lee sun woo is also an important character in the drama. It's a mystery drama with painful scenes in it but there's feel good moments too. The osts are so good too.
Will I rewatch? definitely.

Cringe and Awfully Scripted Drama

Uff Why did I waste 4 days on this drama? The show is pretty cringy. The police officer is Grim Reaper, wearing a black Balenciaga to assert dominance. She can't scream properly, probably because of Botox, but her acting was like 7/10, and I didn't expect that. Boy Ko-Eun Ho was the embodiment of a saint. Man was as pure as God, but that's not a realistic character. Cult as a Church, omg! Cliche!
In one scene, the bad guy was beating two officers left, right, and centre, but when our Balenciaga cop stepped in, he suddenly started moving slower and couldn't land attacks.
I think people should skip this drama for something good. The only good thing about this drama was Park Hoon. Only his character and acting made me watch it to the end. Otherwise, it's boring. Also, that teacher is the most fragile male teacher ever born; he's so cliquey and cringeworthy.
Useless Details were added, like suddenly some new details were added which were as unnecessary as you can think of. Flop drama for me!

Rewatch value is so low because I don’t rewatch things unless they’re a 10.

This was a solid crime drama. The cops were intelligent, psychopaths interesting, mystery exciting, and story riveting. I really loved that they gave Detective Cha such a primary role. That’s extremely rare in crime shows. She was also a mentor to 3 teenage boys, and I think that’s the first time I’ve seen that done. Her character development was great and her story not only interesting but emotional too. I would recommend this show to all crime-show watchers.

Why 8 and not 9 or 10? I felt like the side characters were treated unevenly. As in sometimes they had lots of screen time sometimes none at all. While in the end all the side characters got resolution with their main conflicts I still wanted more. Also am I the only one, but I was sort of disappointed how Sun Woo was treated? He was helping everyone out but received so little help himself. Maybe that’s just me though. I do happen to love characters that are teachers. I also love characters who have a hard time forgiving themselves. I also love characters who are super loyal no matter what, and he was all 3 of those. Anyway he got more resolution than I was expecting but I still wanted more. That’s just personal preference though, most people on here don’t seem bothered by that.

Overall I would recommend this drama! It is definitely one of the better crime shows! Don’t regret entering on this journey with the characters!
