The shows are similar in the following themes:
> The Female Lead must navigate a world that feels different from her own and, therefore, she ends up relying on the Male Lead's help and guidance.
> Both leads grow up in a rich family.
> The Male Lead isn't as honest with his feelings towards the Female Lead at first. Though in both cases, their actions are more honest than their words.
> The Male Lead chases the Female Lead first.
> One of the leads is a successful piano player. In CL, it's the ML while in DDSSLLS it's the Female Lead.
> The Female Lead is a bit spoiled but in a fun way.
> The Female Lead is betrayed by someone close to her.
> The Leads met each other prior to the start of the show, with the ML remembering that encounter before the FL does.
> The ML lost someone really important before the start of the drama, which still causes him pain.
> The FL lost her birthmother when they were young.

The only similar thing is that both korean dramas show relations between South and North Korea.
Otherwise the plot is completely different cause CLonY is romantic story about woman from SK and male soldier from NK.
Search is thriller, mystery, horror drama about virus.
But I believe that you'll love both since they're both unique dramas with interesting plot. Plus you can watch CLonY after Search if you need something similar but a little bit lighter and cutter (I guess?)

The King and CLOY are similar in sense that they are 2 completely different worlds, but still similar...I am redundant, I know.
In The King, there are 2 parallel worlds or universes...and the "King" himself is a king in his world, while on the other world, he is just as ordinary as you can get, not special at all.
This reminds me of the situation in CLOY where Seri is a very rich and respected woman in her "world" aka SoKor, while in NoKor, she is just a nobody and just plain lost, like the "king" felt in The King, Eternal Monarch.

Both female leads find themselves in a difficult situation until they meet a man that will supposedly save them. They find themselves in situations where they end up faking their love (DAYS - so that he will die) (CLOY - So that she doesn't die or get caught as a South Korean). Through this, they both bicker quite a bit but eventually gain feelings for each other. Although they start to like each other, they both do not realise. The male leads have both made the promise to keep her safe but when she sacrifices herself, they become quite frustrated and realise they may have feelings.

Both are fish out of water love stories. Both are about opposites attracting and having to overcome insurmountable odds in a dangerous world to be together. Both are fictionalizations of real worlds. Both are top 5 highest rated TVN shows & top 10 highest rated cable shows of all time at the time this recommendation was written.
