When you are told you do not belong, simply insert yourself and fit in you shall. That is the lesson in this drama probably. The drama has a lot of other mottos so to say. Life is not fair, Justice is wielded by connections and the best lawyer. Everyone in this drama is greedy (Worry not this is not a Makjang). What can I gain from you was the qn in this drama. At some point, I stopped rooting for anybody and I just watched, users and usees
Music
Meh!
Acting and Story
The Female lead's vexing nature was on point, she said everything like she meant it. Probably the most convincing crazy lawyer I have ever seen. The male lead was brilliant as well, especially his character development.
As for the plot. It's odd to describe without spoilers but, let's just say you will not doze out of boredom

I must say that after watching six of the episodes, I am convinced that each episode ends with a clever twist or some miniature bombshell. I like that about this series. It is a bit upbeat and really does have a intense vibe. You can never really guess what’s going to happen. So if you’re into legal drama with a hint of relationships, you may like this one. What I did not like about the series is really a personal preference thing. I honestly do not any show that is built on a foundation of lies. Although the series did not drag on with a major lie, I did not like that it started out somewhat deceitful. I know that the synopsis gave us a look into each person’s character but I really couldn’t get past the initial manipulation and how the female lead toyed with him for her own gain. I know I know it is a drama and a little surprise or shock and all is good but for me after that I could honestly no longer like the female lead and it didn’t get any better after 6 episodes.
I have watched many legal dramas in the past but this one I must admit is quite different from the rest. It’s not awful. I read many comments about their chemistry but episode 1 through 6 lacks it unless you consider insults as chemistry. I don’t think I’ll continue watching.

AND SPOILER:
I melted at the end of episode 8. The way that the male lead told the female lead to use him as she pleases and the preceding make out? I was gushing because I know that they're probably be more of these in the future and they're actual kisses, not a peck on the lips or an "Oops, I accidentally kissed you" kind of thing). I'm so in love with how honest the male lead is about his feelings.

Looking forward to more bickering, twists and most of all the momentary glimpses of tenderness. It is a balanced drama. So far, so goooood!

Not the average Legal drama
What a strong leading female character. Wow. Here's a woman who is smart, sassy, self made, knows what she wants and lives by her own rules. Arrogant to snobs, but underneath the money-grabbing facade beats a good heart. Her nemesis is in turn rich, corporate, from a good family, suave, unscrupulous, competitive, arrogant and blindly loyal.
When these two meet, sparks will fly and a few servings of humble pie will be consumed.
For a legal based drama this is so good. Full of high powered wheeling and dealing, with some very unsavoury characters totally lacking in morals.
It's clever, witty, grown up and only once was there a clichéd scene (I really thought I'd be spared someone dropping to their knees this time, but sadly no).
If you don't like the odd [realistic] swear word, an older strong female lead who puts most men that need to be, in their place and has no problem sleeping with a guy if she wants to; then you'll hate this.
If, like me, all the above appeal, you'll probably enjoy it as much as I did!
Joo Ji-hoon and Kim Hye-soo were perfectly cast and worked so well together.

I understand that the writers were going for a 'grey area' approach, as opposed to most other kdramas, which are usually overly emotional, with strongly defined 'good and 'bad', but this effort comes across as misguided. Maybe they should read some more literature, before attempting something like this. It requires nuance and a delicate touch, which is usually not seen in korean tv shows.
Huge letdown, since there was potential but its completely squandered.

What is a strong woman ?
I started watching this drama because of JJH the male lead. The strong points ? The performances are quality, both leads being excellent actors. The pace of the drama and cinematography, as well as the fashion sense of both characters. Love it when women can switch it up from being tomboyish to extremely girly. Highly appreciated. The bad ? Well I’m not gonna list everything. I’ll just talk about one thing : I started losing respect for the female lead the moment she did everything to lure an emotionally broken woman back into an abusive relationship, in the name of money and competition. My question now is, what is a strong woman ? A highly deceitful one, who lacks so much empathy that she’ll use fear to trap a fellow woman in the arms of a drunkard and addict, when said client has enough money to move abroad ? Or should we start with the fact that her love story with the male lead began with her completely manipulating him for data ? How would that be received had it been the other way around, and in the end the deceived girl STILL tried to figure it out and asked the guy « did you at least love me a little » ? And manipulative guy found himself everywhere deceived girl was ? Yeah I can hear it. Jerk. Loser. Crazy STALKER. Etc. But this Jung Eumja chick is a bad @zz right ? Not to me guys, not to me.
As pro-woman as I am, I can’t get over the fact that this show is not helping us. All I saw was a weak woman so desperate for recognition and money, that she had zero work ethics. Um, no. I’ll gladly pass this one.

No one to like
I can't finish this one cause I don't like either of the main leads. And not surprising because while they're on opposite ends of the social ladder they're equally rotten inside and I can't root for either to win.The first episode was nice from the perspective of a magic show, but once the reveal was there and you figured out how it was done, subsequent episodes don't have the same suspense. In fact, we're bombarded with more rotten temperaments.
It's definitely novel for a KDrama, hence the 3 points, but novelty only gets you so far. For reference I gave up on this mid episode 3.

Sizzling chemistry, complex FL, devoted ML...
outstanding drama. really worth watching. The FL is quite a complex character so it takes time to appreciate them together. I love their chemistry and I really wish we could have other dramas with these two extraordinary actors. This K-drama is slick, sharp, wildly entertaining, and driven by two leads who are powerhouse performers. It throws a light on the elite end of the legal food chain—where money talks, morals are questionable, and power is the only real law. The FL Jung Geum-ja (Kim Hye-soo), is a scrappy, street-smart lawyer who will do anything to win. Yoon Hee-jae (Ju Ji-hoon) is an incredibly polished, elite-educated legal prodigy with excellent connections.
The FL seems heartless but you quickly realise she has learnt to be detached because she has not had the luxury of being able to care. She’s bold, clever, unfiltered, and radiates confidence . Ju Ji-hoon matches her punch for punch with his layered portrayal of a man whose expensive suits can’t protect him from the chaos she brings into his life.
Their chemistry is electric, but not in a fluffy, romantic way. It’s part rivalry, part grudging respect, part flirtation—and all fire.
This is a drama about survival—not in the jungle, but in high-end law firms where the stakes are life-altering and loyalty is often a liability. It explores ambition, class, and ethics without ever slowing down.
I loved the killer wardrobes. and I love the soundtrack - its been on repeat for me.
This drama is fast, fierce, and deeply satisfying. I would love to see this team again.
