Fantastic story
it was a slow build no instant love or coupling. They grew into being a couple as they helped each other and stood together. It was realistic without all the melodrama of current dramas now a day. Oath of Boredom and Stupidity
It starts great. I was liking the banters, differences in opinions, misjudgements. Basically the whole build up was done right. Then comes the two 2nd leads. They get enough signs that they aren’t it for the leads but they are hell bent on winning over the ML &FL respectively. And if that was not enough, the FL’s friends jump into their matter with “good intentions” but make the situation worse. And the best friend keeps up that meddling till the very end. She keeps encouraging the FL to make stupid decisions throughout the whole drama.There is an age gap going on between the leads (though the actress actually looks older than the actor). The FL is supposed to be in her 20’s but she acts like she is a freakin’ teenager. She only matured up when the ML was in a medical crisis. She was likeable only in that part. The ML was the only saving grace of this drama. At the end, it got way too boring. However, I liked the ending with their kid and message to her father.

I like xiao zhan and yang zi
The Oath of Love is a much-anticipated drama that literally went to hell and back, leaving fans in an awkward situation. The Oath of Love, which was supposed to premiere in September 2019, was repeatedly postponed due to "Operation Qing Lang," which targeted celebrities with large, often chaotic fan bases. The drama was thought to have been postponed solely to put fans on their best behaviour. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the first episode of The Oath of Love after the very long two-year wait. And now I understand why the things we desire are usually the things that bring us the most joy.The Oath of Love is based on Bo Lin Shi Jiang's(柏林石匠) novel "Entrust the Rest of My Life to You" (余生，请多指教). Because of the success of the novel, The Oath of Love already has a large fan base, and as proof of the cast's star power, the drama surpassed 700 million views in three days.
This drama centres on an uplifting romance between a doctor and a cellist. To be honest, the story isn't particularly unique. It's just a typical rom-com like we see in c-dramas. Except for the medical aspect of the drama, there is nothing unusual about it. But it's the characters and, of course, the cast and their acting is what makes this drama so endearing.
I was expecting a typical, ice-cold, and serious-looking male lead and a confused and senseless female lead based on the synopsis. But I'm really impressed by the character arcs and portrayal in this case.
Lin Zhi Xiao (Yang Zi), the female lead, is a third-year university student majoring in cello. She is energetic, positive, and kind but, sometimes acts on impulse. She is determined to achieve her objectives and does not give up easily. Although she is a little inexperienced and slow when it comes to relationships, once she is certain of her feelings and intentions, she will move forward boldly.
The love from family is irreplaceable in a person's life. This is an important life lesson that this drama teaches us. Difficult situations can make us more mature in all aspects of life. This is what one should learn from Lin Zhi Xiao.
Gu Wei (Xiao Zhan), the male lead, is the chief surgeon at a gastroenterology unit. He is a very capable doctor, but he takes failures and setbacks far too seriously, which led to psychological issues. Finally, after meeting Lin Zhi Xiao, he learns to look past the setbacks and learn from them. They transform into each other's suns and shine brightly.
One should not take setbacks to heart and stumble there, unable to rise. One should learn to learn from them and make their life more colourful with love. This is what one should learn from Gu Wei.
Gu Wei has a cold and aloof personality, but he is actually very warm and caring towards the people he should be. Lin Zhi Xiao, on the other hand, is equally warm and caring, in this case, to everyone. Lin Zhi Xiao's character development is one if the best I have seen to date. When in comes to Gu Wei, he is already and adult and naturally, there won't be any more development for him. But, his personality is so endearing that you would wonder if such a person would ever exist in this world. Their distinct personalities is one thing that makes this drama really cute and charming. You will know it when you watch the drama. The supporting characters in this drama are good, but their relationship advice can get really annoying at times.
I must say that the romance in this drama is both healthy and consensual. Nobody forces themselves on the other, and no one intentionally hurts the other's feelings. Despite the characters' 9-year age difference, the plot's romantic development felt very natural. Even I, who is not really a fan of age gap, which can become really creepy if not excecuted well, liked this drama very much. This is all due to the cast's efforts in bringing the characters to life.
Speaking of the cast, this drama has a star-studded cast that will compel you to watch it no matter what. Actually, I came to see this drama solely for the cast, as they are my favourite actor and actress. If you've seen at least one drama with them in it, you'll understand their allure. Both Xiao Zhan and Yang Zi deliver excellent performances, particularly in serious and emotional scenes. They have serious acting skills that only a few people have or can have. Their chemistry was on fire, and their interactions were adorable to watch, which, combined with the naturalness of their development, made one wonder if it was all real.
Special appreciation to the cast:
I'm really happy at the fact that Yang Zi can portray a character, who is much younger that her, flawlessly but, I think she should broaden her horizon and take up more serious roles.
Xiao Zhan's glamour is growing year by year and so is his acting skills. But, I think and hope he should take up more roles like Wei Wu Xian form The Untamed.

Sweet Story
I’ve been waiting for this drama for 3 years and I’m so happy it finally aired! Xiao Zhan is an amazing actor and his portrayal of Gu Wei is raw and emotional. I love that the ML and FL are growing together through mutual support and acceptance of one another’s quirks and imperfections.There is enough sweetness to go around but also a lot of emotional moments that made me cry, especially the relationship between father and daughter. I can’t wait to see how the characters will grow to love one another and where the story will take us.
It’s definitely a drama I will be rewatching once it’s done.

A doctor who’s trying his best to heal the world yet he can’t heal his own heart … only music can … music from special person of his … the story seems simple yet realistic , interesting and very enjoyable with naturally good actors and actresses… showing love from different point of views as well … it’s very interesting and beautiful drama to wait and watch plus the ost songs are very pleasant to play especially in the evening after all day long tiredness. Plus as a doctor myself, I can understand the pain of Dr.Gu … People might think that’s so dramatic but the fact is that people may know only when they face it by themselves… Accident in surgeon’s life is not a joke which can destroy the whole carrier life as a surgeon and surprisingly he can really interpret that pain to be visible as a real doctor . Must watch! Love it so much!
I'm on ep 7, rewatching and waiting for more episodes. This drama exceeds my expectation. The plot is good, the phasing, acting, music and the scenery.Scenes and lines giving good vibes and life advise. The closeup shots highlights and emphasize the expressions and emotions of each actors/actress. Its like they are talking to you, feel their emotions like you're also part of the drama.
I think the drama is well balanced. Family issues and personal struggle, there's also a lot of funny and sweet scenes.
So if you want to always in good mood, feels like falling in love, go watch this drama, its good for your heart lol!!!

Different Acting but like Tug of War
So the first few episodes I felt like YangZi understands the art of rom com better and was pulling Xiao Zhan like a tug of war of acting. But Xiao Zhan is so good with the subtle and really powerful emotions that I realized it takes getting to those scenes for him to really blossom out. Does he make the other actors better? Yes. Even YangZi. The scenes with her father and mother are especially powerful.He is not the typical male actor and so dont judge him against those like XuchaiCheng. His ability to emote is heartwrenching. I hope he continues to improve English and comes to Hollywood to do a big box movie one day.

I waited for this, but I'm so dissapointed
It's only an ordinary story. I coudn't bear to watch it for more episodes. I'm very disappointed in the story and it lacks chemistry.I waited for so long in this drama because Xiao Zhan is here. I expected higher because both him and Yang Zi already given an award in tencent even the drama is still not airing.
There's something wrong with the logic in the plot especially in the medicine field. They didn't do well in their research about it.

The first rom-com I love and intends to finish watching it!
I love both the acting of the male and female leads and even the supporting actors! The story doesn't have the usual fights and villainous characters that characterize most drama. It is just a story of people living an ordinary life with the usual health and works problems, as well as problem that you face with your family. the actor who plays Yang Zi's father is very good as well. Xiao Zhan acts so naturally as well as Yang Zi. I don't normally watch romance comedy since I find them silly most of the time! But The Oath of Love is quite good!Was this review helpful to you?

The dramma is so smooth funny and binge worthy . All the characters are in their roles . They truly understood the assignment. Its such a beautifully dramma and worth recommending and rewatching 💖 💕 .Ive watched many c love drammas . But this one is so spoton . Its like a real life story 😪. This Drama is great

(soryr i don't know how to translate some words into english so i just wrote them in chinese lmao)before i get on with my very opinionated review, i know people are gonna think "well you haven't even watched the whole thing your opinion isn't valid" but honestly idc lmao i just didn't like the plot and the acting and the cringe romance scenes.
also, i'm more of a historical girl so many my opinion is kind of biased, especially on the romantic aspects.
the story is pretty basic, a chaotic girl and a doctor. this drama itself would be ok to me... if the main leads were switched to like "less popular" actors and the drama was not announced so early. but the the main leads are 杨紫 and 肖战 and this drama was said to air like years ago. i was excited to watch it because of the popularity of these actors and i thought it would be somewhat of a different drama, rather than the basic plot that almost every romance drama has. i knew that 杨紫 had always played a 疯疯癫癫 (chaotic?) girl, so i kind of expected that but i also kind of wished that she would try a new character. as most of you know, that didn't happen. as i said before, i prefer watching historical dramas, where the romance isn't the main plot and there's none of that... cringe? stuff. to other people it may seem cute but it's difficult for me to watch those scenes without cringing.
as for the acting, they're both really good, it's just the personality of the character that they're playing that annoys me. although i will say, doesn't matter what role 杨紫 is playing, her crying scenes are always on point. (i'm not like hating on the actors themselves or their acting skills or anything, just the 剧本 and the drama itself)
i don't really pay attention to modern drama's osts, so i don't have an opinion on this.
i didn't even finish it the first time so i probably won't come back to this.
overall, it's just not as good as i thought it would be after waiting like two years for this. i'll stick to my historical dramas :)
