this is the actual meaning of " soulmate"

This movie is emotionally rich that paints a heartfelt portrait of friendship as something deeper than love—an invisible thread that binds souls beyond time and distance. It follows the lives of two girls, Mi-so and Ha-eun, whose bond begins in their youth and blossoms into a profound connection that transcends words.

The film beautifully captures the essence of friendship as a safe haven—where laughter echoes freely, silences speak volumes, and even pain is shared without fear. Their journey is filled with moments of joy, misunderstanding, longing, and reunion, illustrating how true friendship isn’t about always being together, but about always belonging to each other.

Visually poetic and emotionally stirring, Soulmate shows that some people come into your life not just to walk with you, but to shape who you become. Their souls are mirrors, and through each other, they discover the truest parts of themselves. It’s a love letter to the kind of friendship that stays in your heart forever.

The ending of Soulmate is quietly devastating yet profoundly beautiful—a culmination of love, longing, and the irreplaceable bond of friendship.

After years of separation, misunderstandings, and missed connections, Ha-eun discovers the depth of Mi-so’s love and sacrifice too late. Through Mi-so’s paintings—filled with vivid colors and intimate moments only they shared—Ha-eun begins to truly understand the silent ways Mi-so expressed her feelings. The art becomes Mi-so’s voice, revealing emotions she could never speak aloud.

It’s an ending that doesn’t offer easy closure, but instead leaves you with a lingering ache—the kind that only comes from loving someone so deeply, they become a part of your soul. Soulmate reminds us that even if someone is gone, the bond you shared continues to shape your world, quietly and eternally.

We are connected.

It's been a while since the last time that I bawled my eyes out. This is wonderfully portrayed. A story of two friends that shows a true bond despite the different lives they live in.

We have different paths to choose. But at the end of the day, I hope our paths cross.

Such a wonderful and beautiful drama that is worth watching,

do NOT watch this while missing your best friend

even as i type this, there’s still tears falling down my cheeks. i don’t know why this has affected me this much…well, nevermind, i do.

i won’t spill my problems in this review but, as someone who’s had a horrible argument and well, i guess a somewhat of a fall out with her best friend of 7 years, this hit me right in the heart. you never get over it. even if you keep saying you’re okay, you still feel it in your heart.

sharing your life with someone where it borders between platonic and romantic love, it’s always special. i originally watched this thinking it would be very sapphic centric and although there’s definitely elements of it, you can tell it’s about two best friends- two soulmates, finding each other, drifting apart till they found each other again.

i can only hope the same happens to us.
beautiful movie.

A realistic movie about love!

I wouldn't say it's a romantic movie, even tho you could interpret the story in two different ways, the message remains the same. Two women love each other till the end! It doesn't matter if they're only friends or lovers, these are just labels. This movie basically perfect, because it shows that relationships are not easy and simple, it's complex, and you have to work hard to maintain it.

What I love about this movie is that it's not about the guy, it's 100% about the girls' POV. As much as they love each other, they're always messing up something, but they never leave each other.

In the end, they're basically become the same person. It was like Miso not only finished her art, but Ha Eun's life as well.

The story isn't finished, you have to guess what happened with Jin Woo and his daughter. Who knows, maybe he will raise her with Miso, or just meet the girl once in a while. But I don't think that matters.

At the end of the day, this is about Miso and Ha Eun, and how much they love each other.

Like the title says: They're soulmates.

it's about friendship and fellings one deal with.

the goes like starting in school two girls becoming bff and later they discover and faces misunderstanding and this lead him to a part after realization they get together but the fortune has another plan by making haeun die at the age of 27 in her prime age after giving birth to her daughter. the movie is whole a emotional and has happy sad ending along with happy ending at glance it may feel like bullshit but as the story developed it becomes more intense. which make the viewer to bring watery eyes. it's sweet, dark, fun, love, hope, drama, sad, happy, delight, sorrow, thrill,

A film about the realities of life and the beauty of friendship

Spoilers ahed:
Minor plot-holes (especially near the end) but still a very beautifully written and meaningful film about love and life. Realistic and amazing acting from everyone. Scenes fly by and the pace is good. Didn’t expect to cry at the end, but realizing the two girl’s love for each other and how the two went on to “live like each other” made me sob. At first I didn’t understand why they killed off Haeun but I realized it was necessary: it was her love for Jinwoo and want for a “normal life” that restricted her. And it killed her in the end. And her death, Mi-so expressed her love for Ha-eun. And it also changed Mi-so’s lifestyle. She continues to lie but now she does it out of love. And she works to care for others. Mi-so makes many mistakes throughout the film and I get frustrated with her at times, but she’s human. And you can’t blame Haeun for forgiving her because you realize that the two understood each other like no one else and grew up learning to rely on each other. Mi-so encouraged Haeun to live fearlessly. But they were both challenged with the reality of adult life. Even in the character’s hardships, ups, and downs, you can’t help but think “ah, so this is life indeed.” For people saying its just a movie about two girls fighting for a boy, they need to realize that this movie is not about the boy at all. He’s just a part of society’s expectations and the experience of growing up. In fact, neither girls liked him much to start with.

the title did it justice they really were soulmates

i really liked this movie, it was a tearjerker and i have to say that i enjoyed it. ofc if i could imagine an ideal ending I'd be the two female leads getting married and living the rest of their lives happily together (ik they we're just friends I'm just being delulu cause they had great chemistry). however i feel that if this movie had a happy ending it wouldn't be as meaningful and it could kinda ruin it. the cast was great the story line was amazing and not too complicated the only thing i didn't notice was the music cause i was too invested in the story and while i was processing everything that was happening i didn't really think about the music (in the emotional scenes i was bawling my eyes out so i couldn't hear it) and regarding its rewatch value i think i will wait for some time to pass by so that i can forget about the details of the movie and when I'm in a mood that i want too cry I'll come back too rewatch it.

"All people have different faces so that they can live different lives"

Here me out!! I usually don't enjoy korean movies but this one is an absolute masterpiece. It's realistic unlike other korean shows featuring "perfect lives" "perfect friendships". This movie is so sweet and made me tear up at the end. It shows how your soulmate doesn't have to be your romantical partner rather it can be your best friend who knows you the best , who understands you the best. I love how the friendship between two of the bestfriends isn't perfect. Its so simple yet it gave a new way to think about life and the friends I have around me. I absolutely loved this movie.

_**Cast**_
The cast was amazing. The directors used the right people to star in this movie. Byeon Wooseok has been talked about alot lately and he is also present here so if you're his fan then just start watching this movie already. Kim Dami and the other actress ( I don't know her name unfortunately) did an excellent job too. Didn't watch any of kim Dami's projects in a while but this made me want to see her in more shows and movies.

_**overall thoughts**_
I want to keep this short and spoiler free so all i want to say is that I highly recommend this movie to anybody. Even if you really like romantic movies ( it doesn't have that many romantic scenes ) i highly suggest you to watch this. Trust me you won't regret it. And you'll most definitely get another meaning to friendship after watching this movie.

Romantic, platonic, idc, they loved each other

At first I thought this was a gl, turns out it's not but omg it doesn't erase the fact that the portrayal of love in this film is beautiful, it shows the downsides and the beauty that comes with loving someone so deeply, also the fact that at the end Haeun and Miso were the reflection of each other's past and dreams goddd, it shattered me. I do think that the drawing that Haeun did of Miso is somehow the closing that both needed, as the one who started it, was Haeun and the one that finishes it, is Miso, that drawing rather than just being that is the representation of the girl's feelings towards each other (that's how I see it at least). Though it made me feel a little disappointed because I was really expecting to see a gl, it doesn't matter now because I was almost bawling at the end, It indeed was a beautiful movie

it hurts

my first thought while watching the movie was that it was some kind of lesbian romance, what i didn’t expect was that their friendship and how they complemented each other would be deeper than romance itself, i feel that jinwoo could have contributed more; i find his character tasteless. however, haeun and miso did their job so well that i have nothing to complain about. in my mind, they are happy raising their daughter, although i think that if haeun had lived, she wouldn’t have given her the same name. i like to think the baby’s name would have been some kind of combination between miso and haeun

such a beautiful friendship but when a man comes inbetween everything goes wrong. Byeon weo seok as much as I love you you annoyed the hell out of me in this movie like 😡😡😡 poor girls could’ve been happy but ended up in such a tragidy.😭😭😖 The acting is amazing and I also love the storyline the ending was sad but there’s nothing you can do about it 😭 I wish that in another life they get a happy ending.

Life is a journey of discovering

It’s very beautiful movies, slow but they made it so beautiful as two best friends grow up and facing life and their friendship also discovering about themselves too. I shed a tear at the end, although not really understand why she made that decision. But not losing yourself and still strong despite her tough life and survive also not apart.

And their acting really touch my heart. So good. I read one of the review said this is a remake, make me curious about the original movie.
