Somber with hint of romance. Leads lack chemistry. Female lead miscast
Series had an Unexpected prevailing somber tone with only a bare hint of romance . I expected to be wowed with what they did with makeup, but The makeup transformations were really unimpressively lack luster. Though there is a happy ending for the main couple; to call it a slow burn would be generous. Sadly, the leads have no chemistry. Joo Sang Wook does a really good job. Female lead Kim Bo Ra is miscast, & either her character is poorly written or she's poorly directed. Supporting cast does well, except for Hong Seok Cheon who is an irritating caricature of a type of man . I did not pick up on the age gap between the leads for awhile as it didn't seem relevant. It wasn't a problem because there is Nothing romantic going on. The female lead frequently has a blank look on her face & she comes across like she is a middle schooler with her expressions. It's really hard to accept her as a part of a romance with such a charismatic male lead. Joo Sang Wook really does all the work because she might as well be a hand puppet for all she is able to emote .I kept waiting for her to show another more adult side but it never came. The one tentative kiss lacks warm fuzzies or any heat. It's just Joo Sang Wook making his own chemistry all by himself & really by that time, you feel that he is so much more mature than she is that even His character is like :"nah this is just weird "! I've seen Kim Bo Ra in "Her private life" & did not warm up to her as a supporting actress. I really don't think that she's up to being a main, especially when paired with a much better, seasoned actor. Was this review helpful to you?

There are lots of comments about the age gap. In truth it doesn’t really bother me as long as the individuals have some chemistry However the series seems to be lacking chemistry of any kind between the female and male lead as well as the supporting cast. The only individual that seems to have any real emotion or chemistry with anyone in this series is our psychotic husband who has so many emotions that you cannot help but be drawn to his character even though he is being deemed a villain.
What I like about this series is that it is light hearted and somewhat encouraging for those underdogs. It really seems to be a series that focuses on overcoming the odds and fighting for what you want. I like that it was more positive in that aspect than negative. There’ is no real moping going. Can do! Let’s go attitudes.
What I dislike about the series is that it are two leads really don’t have great chemistry and it somewhat makes this series feel a little less authentic.
I’ll also be the villain in this aspect when I say the series has a male character that has clearly done some really bad things and he is definitely painted as a villain. What I dislike about this is that the writers/producers seem to think that the female manipulating can be overlooked. We have one that is nuts and one that caused it...... either fix them both or call them both villains. Just saying ??♀️.
Again, this could have been so much better if the leads had chemistry. Age wasn’t the issue. They just didn’t gel. Ughh

Am I only one who liked this drama a lot. Overall the story was interesting, a new concept for the kdrama world. As a person who enjoys makeup, I really liked it and enjoyed. The storyline build-up was interesting and they ended it good. Even though there were a lot of people who complained and criticized that the main couple didn't have chemistry and the age gap was too much, I really enjoyed it, they acted their age and they did build it, as I think usually will happen. It's good to have chemistry straight away but I do prefer chemistry that builds up as they learn about each other and discover things they like.
The acting was good and I really was enjoying the acting between Joo Sang Wook and Kim Bora, they acted their age and showed their characters growing, Kim Bora realizing her new dream, being a makeup artist and Joo Sang Wook's change in the perspective of a great makeup studio.
My favorite scene was when Han Soo Yun was offered to debute again and Cha Jang Hyuk's response in it, not forcing her to choose, but helping her to make the decision and showing that it's her choice.
She wanted to debute a long time and he felt bad about if he was in the way, he expressed that she has a chance and make the choice she doesn't regret.
My only complaint is that the comments in the videos, the complaining from the start after only one and two episodes, I usually make decisions on drama after ten or if actually something ridiculous happens. Yes, there is some kind of problem in the industry that usually pairs up the older males with younger females, but if you really don't like it don't watch it.

Don't let the other reviews deceive you...
As I was finishing the last episode, I literally wanted to scream because I didn't wanted it to end...THIS WAS SOOOOOOOO AMAZING....If like me, you're also into heartwarming stories with slow burning romance , this drama is definitely for you...Romance is sooo subtle....The characters, all are written soo well, showing us their struggles and growth...I saw people talking about the age gap...But the age gap in this was NOT awkward or cringie, rather our ML gently took care of our FL....
I wanted to watch this drama in 2020, but kept pushing it and now I regret not watching this fabulous drama before.... ㅠㅠㅠ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
At the end, I'll just say that DONOT LET THE OTHER REVIEWS stop you from watching this drama, please....HAPPY WATCHING YALL...
