I was looking for a good romance drama to watch...and this one did not disappoint. I watched all 16 episodes over 2 days! I love everything about this drama - the story, the characters, and the romance. It was so believable that I might spend the next few days visiting some historical sites hoping some time-traveling heroes will show up! ;)

What I liked:
- The characters. The main leads were phenomenal. I loved Hee Jin - she is sooooo adorable and convincing. You can't help but root for her because she's so sincere and loving. Boong Do is awesome too! He's romantic and smart (always a good combination!). I like that he's a fast learner - adapting to modern time and scheming like a politician takes some serious brainpower! The other characters like Soo Kyung and Dong Min were well done - they were consistent in their reactions as the story progresses.

- The romance. This is so epic! I didn't think time-travel romance could be done well (it's like a long distance relationship but so much more...). But the story really made it work. I think the main leads had some great chemistry. ;)

- The story. I love sci-fi, so I was hooked with the time traveling aspect of the story. This story has responsible time traveling. I've seen too many shows and read too many books where the time traveling seems to have little to no effect on the future. But this story deals very carefully with cause-and-effect. The explanations given in the story are well done.

What I didn't like:
- The ending was a little too short for me. Probably because I love the story too much and didn't want it to end at all! :D

Totally recommend this to anyone who likes romance and a little bit of history/fantasy. Keep some tissues handy though - I was shamelessly crying through some scenes. :)

Gosh, I love this very very much. Very.
I love time traveling dramas. It's rly not real but it could be one day or it's already possible but we jst don't know about it. I have wondered if there was someone who time travels to modern world n we would fall in love. That would be so sweet n bubbly cute like a dreamy dream.

Yea he story is not believable but so watchable n enjoyable. This historical guy comes n we magically meet cuz we r destined to fall in love. He gets hurt all the time n he vanish in thin air n appears out of no where. I try to hide the fact that I love him but he is irresistible. When he's gone, I miss him so much!! Is it possible for him to stay forever to be w me?

Cute n bubbly acting!! Too much chemistry probably cuz they truly loved each other before. They r real lovers once upon a time. Can't get enough of this adorable drama that is so colorful!!

I've seen the Chinese version as well n I can say they're both rly cute but this one can not be replaced.

Great Time Travel Drama

I dropped this earlier because the sub on Prime was incomplete here and therr, but when I tried watching again after a couple weeks, the 2nd episode was just too good I didn't cate about the subs anymore. I was bawling on episode 9 and just had to share this. I love the slow burn built of the leads chemistry, i find them so great with their acting and realized I loved the ML more, but now I love them both equally as actor's. This story shows love beyond space, time and reasons, i will finish this tonight

For me the first eight or nine episodes were almost perfect and then it went downhill before the last two episodes being completely disappointing. I don't want to post spoilers but I think this is one of those dramas that could have been better with an ending like they used to have them in the 90s and early 2000s kdramas.

More than expected!

It wasn't there in watchlist at first. One of my friend suggested it to me insisted on watching it. So, by pure confidentiality, i watched it.

As for the story I'll give full marks coz it was quite fun and intereating to watch from start to end. There was so much fun elements which made this drama something cute to watch.
As for the acting they found the beat players to the field. Im more fond to the second ML than thr ML. He is so good looking and fun. He is a great at this acting skills. As for the FL is stunning in this one too.
The OSTs are quite nice but doesn't have that wow element.

I pretty much enjoyed this drama. And I'm definitly gonna watch this drama again if I get the time.
Thank ou

so romantic: the "Player" and his girl

If you like dramas where the chemistry hits early, the longing is intense, and the romance doesn’t waste your time, you will absolutely love this.
This drama honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. By episode five, I was already screaming, swooning, and borderline obsessed. The pace is fast, the payoff comes early, and the emotional connection between the leads is explosive in a way that feels rare, even now.

❤️ LIKES
-The chemistry is unreal. When they look at each other, it genuinely feels like I’m interrupting something intimate. Their yearning, eye contact, and physical closeness are electric.
-The romance starts early. Kisses by episode five?? YES. And not just one. So many kissing scenes — honestly enough to rival Something About 1%.
-I love how quickly things resolve. Conflicts don’t drag forever, which keeps the emotional momentum strong.
-The way the drama handles a character entering a new world is so well thought out. Nothing just magically happens — everything is explained:
>His clothes don’t just appear; he steals them.
>He learns belts, buttons, and customs naturally.
>No plot holes, no lazy writing.
-The back-and-forth between the two worlds makes sense and actually builds tension instead of confusion.
-I love how loyal and devoted the Joseon-era characters are. That unwavering loyalty hurts in the best way.
-The storytelling style is so cool — sometimes it shows you something and later expands on it from a new angle, making moments hit even harder.
-This is 100% rewatchable for me.
I love that by episode 12–13, it teases the idea of them possibly getting time to just exist together in happiness — even briefly.

💔 DISLIKES
I hated that she hid him from people in her life instead of fully claiming him.
The amnesia arc dragged for about two episodes — I understand why it was done, but emotionally it was painful because I just wanted them back together.
Her manager friend was selfish and frustrating.
Even though the back-and-forth makes sense story-wise, it’s still emotionally rough.
Watching all of his people die in Joseon was heartbreaking 😢

⭐ Final Thoughts
This drama does what so many romances fail to do: it respects the viewer’s emotions. It doesn’t tease endlessly, it doesn’t withhold chemistry, and it doesn’t treat romance like an afterthought.
By episode five, I was already all in — swooning, screaming, and emotionally invested. The longing, devotion, and payoff are handled beautifully, and when they’re together, they’re together.

Rating: 10/10
One of those rare dramas that feels fast, full, emotionally satisfying, and deeply romantic.

Contributing to point is the fact that the male and female leads became a couple after the drama end. Although they split up after 2 years, during the drama, their chemistry is over the top.

Love the story line and the OSTs are awesome. ;)

Queen In Hyun’s Man (2012) — A Timeless Love That Transcends Centuries

Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10

As someone from the Philippines who has watched countless Korean dramas, there’s one series that truly left a mark on my heart and refuses to let go, no matter how many times I watch it—and that’s “Queen In Hyun’s Man”. I’ve watched it numerous times (lost count already!), and every rewatch feels as magical, emotional, and exciting as the first. Honestly, this drama is a masterpiece, and it deserves way more recognition, especially from international fans.

STORY: 10/10—A Perfect Blend of Fantasy, History, and Modern Romance
The story revolves around Kim Boong Do, a noble scholar from the Joseon Dynasty who mysteriously travels through time to modern-day Seoul, and Choi Hee Jin, a bubbly, struggling actress who lands the role of Queen In Hyun in a historical drama. Their fateful encounter sets off a love story that is so genuine, heartfelt, and deeply touching, it still gives me butterflies thinking about it.

What I loved most about the plot is that it’s not your usual cliché time-travel drama. It’s smart, well-paced, and full of beautiful, poetic moments. The way the writers balanced the historical and modern elements was seamless. It had just the right amount of suspense, romance, humor, and fantasy. And oh, the dialogues? So profound and emotional! I cried, laughed, and swooned—all within one episode.

The ending? A roller coaster of emotions but ultimately satisfying and unforgettable.

ACTING & CAST: 10/10—Chemistry Off the Charts
Let me just say this: Yoo In Na is my favorite Korean actress, and even though I say this with pride, I promise I’m not being biased—she was genuinely phenomenal in this role! Her portrayal of Choi Hee Jin felt so natural, charming, and relatable. You could feel her emotions pouring through the screen, especially during the emotional scenes. She made Hee Jin lovable and funny, yet deeply sincere and strong.

And let’s talk about Ji Hyun Woo—his portrayal of Kim Boong Do was one of the most respectful, gentle, and noble male leads I've ever seen. His intelligence, calm demeanor, and unwavering love for Hee Jin made him the perfect hero.

Together? Their chemistry was electric. Every glance, every touch, and every conversation was filled with emotion and tension. I found myself rooting for them so hard, and when I learned they dated in real life after the show, it made the experience even more magical!

MUSIC/OST: 10/10—Beautiful and Haunting
The soundtrack of Queen In Hyun’s Man is absolutely stunning. The songs perfectly captured the mood of the drama—from romantic to heart-wrenching. I still listen to the OST while studying or relaxing, and it instantly brings back all the emotions from the show.

REWATCH VALUE: 10/10—Infinite!
If there’s one drama I never get tired of rewatching, it’s this. I’ve probably watched it more times than any other series, and it still makes me cry, laugh, and swoon. There’s something so timeless about it. Each time I rewatch, I notice something new—a line, a facial expression, or a subtle detail I missed before.

No matter how many new dramas I watch, I always find myself going back to “Queen In Hyun’s Man.” It’s like a warm, familiar hug.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
“Queen In Hyun’s Man” is not just a drama—it’s an experience. It’s a story about true love that crosses time and logic, a story that makes you believe in destiny and soulmates. The writing is sharp, the acting is flawless, and the emotions are raw.

For me, as a Filipino fan of K-dramas and a proud fan of Yoo In Na, this series is a personal favorite of all time. It’s a hidden gem that more people should discover. If you’re looking for a drama that’s unique, heartfelt, and unforgettable—this is it.

And to Yoo In Na, if you ever read this somehow—thank you for bringing Choi Hee Jin to life so beautifully. You made me believe in love that transcends time.
