This is a love story about Ogawa Manami, a high school teacher who grew up in a strict family, and Kaworu, a host who is not good at reading and writing, as they search for love despite the obstacles they face. Manami is being pressured to marry a man she met through her father's introduction, and the high school where she works is also facing a crisis of class collapse. She spends her days lamenting, "I want to run away from this place." One day, she receives a call saying that a student has been deceived by an unscrupulous host, and she rushes to the store to bring the female student back, where she meets Kaworu. Kaworu has to sign a promissory note promising not to contact the student in the future, and Manami finds out about the problem that he had kept secret from anyone until then. In the play, the two gradually become closer through Manami's secret "private lessons," in which she teaches Kaworu about language and society.
Nagisa Miyoshi and Saho Miyoshi are sisters and very close to each other. Younger sister Nagisa Miyoshi leaves her hometown of Hiroshima and begins to live with her older sister Saho Miyoshi, who has already moved to Tokyo. Saho Miyoshi works as a wardrobe stylist. Nagisa Miyoshi gets a job at company which her sister Saho introduced her to. There, Nagisa Miyoshi meets Yosuke Asakura, who is her first love from her high school days. Her feelings for him are rekindled, but she learns that Yosuke Asakura is engaged to her older sister.
Sang Min comes to Finland to send her autistic son to a special camp. She feels so alienated in snow covered-white Helsinki. Ki Hong is an architect working in Finland on dispatched duty. His family is not so perfect either with a daughter having depression and a mentally unstable wife. The two meet for the first time at the gathering point of this special camp. They get to have a short trip to the camp together in silence but start to feel comfortable and connected to each other. On their way back to Helsinki, with the road blocked from heavy snow, Sang Min and Ki Hong are isolated in a cabin by the forest and lake.
