Overrated!
The story might be good but not great. The cast was pretty boring except for Song Weilong. Seven Tan's Character is an irony. She is not that lovable to be liked by two men. She has a brash attitude and annoying. Everything about her is just ordinary. For me as a viewer, she is not worthy to be gazed upon. I will not spend money on this artist. An actress must at least be charming and pretty. Steven Zhang smile is not captivating. Next time better not to smile because he would lose his charm. I liked the elders' acting better. Song Weilong's acting is better among the younger artists even when he doesn't smile.Was this review helpful to you?
AMAZING!!! MY COMFORT DRAMA FR
i don't really write reviews for dramas but omg this one deserves it. The storyline and everything is just sooo great. I also relate with the storyline sm and the warmth i get from this drama is immaculate. The actors chemistry was on point and overall it was very enjoyable to watch. I can rewatch it anywhere anytime and i won't get bored. the slice of life is presented very well here. I get so emotional everytime i finish watching this drama. THIS DRAMA IS ONE OF THE BEST FAMILY DRAMA HAVE WATCHED SO FAR THAT WAS WHY I RATED IT 10/10
If you need to watch drama that deals with family, I recommend this drama to you 100%. You will laugh,cry , happy, pity .... All along. The cast played there role so well that it felt like a am watching it real life. The second reason why I RATED it 10/10 is because of how they matches the music with the scenes. If you watch a sad episode, I doubt you won't be emotional with the music played. If you watch a happy episode,you will be happy for no reason with the music played. I don't know how to penned down all my Happy thought about this drama because it is just too good. After love designer/love customization , I would take it as another C_drama that I can never get tired of because it is just so real. Am the type that always love romance drama where there is always a French kiss,bed scenes....lol. but this particular drama changes my perspective. Let me recommend the C_drama have watched so far that I can't get tired of watching them. 1. Yanxi palace, Legend of Fuyao, Love designer or love customization, Dating in the kitchen, My love engliten me, my best of all External love also known as Fight for the throne 1&2 , Fox summer 1&2, External love of dream ... Touching and relatable
This is one amazing plot. I highly recommend it. I just stumble upon this by chance. This drama is all about family and it conveys to be a family its not necessary to be blood related. Relationships are formed with emotion, care and love. It pulls at your heart strings. Loved all the 3 main characters. Steven Zhang is amazing and so cute. I have never been a Fan of seven tan but she did alright with her sun shine personality in the role. Song Weilong did justice to his broody and neglected traumatic child persona. All three deals with life in different ways. It is pretty good story, it has 40 episodes on viki but it does not feel like it drags or anything. A drama that hits deep into your heart and soul.
Go Ahead is one of those dramas whose story line draws you in. The drama itself is heartwarming, familial, and comical mixed with the struggles of reality, dreams and separation.Acting/Cast/Characters: Each of the characters have their own color but the way each of the actors portrayed their character, you really feel their emotions and see everything from their own eyes. For me Ling Xiao's character itself was kind of bland and pitiable, but then the way Song Wei Long, was able to portray that pity in his character must have been no easy feat, so that is very commendable in my opinion. I have to really commend Steven Zhang though, he brought He Ziqiu to life and went over the top with his acting. By far, at least in my opinion He Ziqiu and Steven Zhang made this drama. Also if you hate or dislike a character, you know that the actress/actor is doing their job right!
Music: I am in love with the soundtrack that they used for this drama and each song that was played suited the scene well.
The only complaint I have for this drama was how they didn't show the repairing of the relationship between Ling Xiao's mother and Li JianJian. They could have extended it a little bit to show that part, but they didn't and instead they really rushed it.

Worth watching
This drama is full of emotions, from the very first episode you will find yourself hooked to this drama.The storyline is quiet unique.
My most favourite character in this drama is female lead's father.
I must say actors , director and writer bring the box of every emotion, joy , sadness and love to our screens. What a beautiful drama.
Only thing i don't like is too many episodes. Some characters are bit cringe like male lead's Mother.
For me its a refreshing drama to watch in summer. Highly recommended.

Touching family drama with a bit of romance
Go Ahead is a drama focus on family relationships of the 3 main characters. They suffered losses in their lives and bonded together to form a new family of no blood relations.One little sister and two older brothers help each other heal the losses and love each other like family. This drama will make you laugh, cry and appreciate the meaning of “family”.
Solid acting and good storyline make this one of the best Chinese dramas of 2020.
Seven Tan, Song Wei Long and Steven Zheng have great chemistry, and watching them is truly a joy.

I DID NOT REGRET WATCHING THIS!
I'd like to begin by saying that I highly recommend this drama... When the drama was on air, I had watched a few snippets and I had high expectations from it... I'm not saying that I didn't like it... I very much liked it.. It's a very relatable and heart touching drama...The cast was too good... They have done a spectacular job at portraying every single emotion and character.. The story was pretty good with usual dramatic ups and downs but the drama managed to successfully pull it off.. I dont usually like watching flashbacks or slow intros but I really loved the childhood parts in this.. We need more people like Li Haichao in this world..
The drama had really good potential and I think that it could have been made a little better by eliminating certain parts.. Especially the love triangle between Li Jianjian, Ling Xiao and He Ziqiu... Yes, He Ziqiu was not really in love with her and gave up pretty soon but I still felt that it was completely unnecessary.. I'm a fan of romance, but I think that this drama could have really survived without the romance between the three of them.. And I didn't really feel the chemistry between Li Jianjian and Ling Xiao... The dynamic that the trio had as siblings during their childhood (I know, because of seperation for long duration and all but I'm not talking about that) was kind of lost in the 2nd half of the drama.. And I didn't really understand the relationship aspect between Li Jianjian and Ling Xiao? Like when? How? One minute Li Jian Jian was like, "no, you're my brother" and the next she's like, "you're my boyfriend"? This is the only complaint that I have with this drama... The romance was all over the place.. Everybody's romance was all over the place.. Except Li Haichao and He Mei's relationship... Now, that was adorable... I loved it!
I kind of felt that the ending was a little rushed but I watched the 40 episode version, so idk if there's any difference...
Overall, I'd highly recommend watching it and I had a pleasant time with this drama... The osts made me immediately go on youtube and download them! Do give this a try, you won't regret it.

Definitely my favorite drama and would watch it over and over again<333
I started this drama mainly because of Song Wei Long and before watching the first episode, I’ve already seen some clips on social media and it somehow didn't catch my attention that much. Nevertheless, since I had nothing to watch I decided to try it out, and it's now one of the best decisions I’ve made when it comes to cdramas.What I loved:
1. Their childhood scenes - to be honest, I'm not a big fan of childhood scenes although in most dramas they’re usually just very short BUT IN THIS DRAMA I WAS IN LOVE WITH THE CUTE CHILD ACTORS AND ACTRESSES. The kids did such a great job in portraying their characters as if they really were the younger versions of the main leads. It didn't seem awkward to me at all and it somehow made me sad as I watched their last scenes as kids because I knew that I would miss them.
2. The main leads- As expected from these versatile actors and actresses, they surely never disappoint. They showed great chemistry and definitely perfect for their roles.
- For Song Wei Long in which I mentioned was the reason why I started this drama, it was very nice to see him portray a somehow different kind of character from his usual ones and HE STILL SLAYED IT. He expressed different kinds of emotions in every episode and it made me feel like I am his friend in real life because I wanted to comfort him so much.
- While for Steven Zhang, it was my first drama with him as the lead and I FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM. The way he portrayed his character was just perfect as if the character was made for him. Watching this drama also made me a fan of him which is why I searched his dramas right away after I finished this drama and he truly is a wonderful actor.
- Lastly, Seven Tan also did not disappoint. It amazes me how suitable she is for Li Jianjian’s character ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING HER AGE TOO. Despite being in her 30s she portrayed being a high school student in the most outstanding way. I can't imagine other actresses doing her character not because they are not as good as her but because SHE PORTRAYED IT TOO WELL. Also became a fan of her afterward hehe.
3. Storyline - The writer and the whole team are just all geniuses. Family problems, romance, friendships, some might think that this will be just like the other dramas BUT NO, they really added some spice here and TOO MUCH SPICE WHICH IS WHY EVERYONE LOVES IT. The conflicts they gave are very realistic and at the same time, it is very new to the viewers. Each character teaches you a lesson and would inspire you. Although this drama broke my heart and made me cry so much, IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. It was nice to see each character grow and slowly overcome their problems with the help of their families and friends. Truly one of the best storylines.
4. Length - Some may know that cdramas are usually very long but this drama never made me complain because each episode is worthwhile. I am very satisfied with the number of episodes and the pacing so you all don't have to worry about it.
5. Rewatch value - I actually watched this drama last year back when it was still ongoing AND UP UNTIL NOW IM STILL WAITING FOR THE TIME THAT THE SCENES ARENT THAT FRESH IN MY MIND SO I CAN REWATCH IT AGAIN IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. But sadly, this drama is too good and my brain refuses to forget it so all I can do is to convince you all to watch.

Anyway, may all these reviews from other people and me be enough to convince you to watch because you’re missing out on such impressive drama (or I suggest watching the first few eps and see if you’ll like it).

This always happens....
I read a synopsis of a drama and think I don't think I'll really like it but everyone says it's so good. So I put on my plan to watch shelf until I thought I might want to watch it. Well I did and it's become on of my favorite. I have done this before where I think it's not going to be good and then BOOM, I love it.This is a really good ensemble cast that you want to love everyone and their slightly weird story lines. It's got just the right amount of angst and tears. It flows from funny to sad to funny. It makes you feel very warm. I like that the characters were more than 2D and had normal thoughts and feelings.
I super encourage watching this if you love to see the whole cast love and spend time with each other, strong FL, strong (hot) ML, great 2ML and 2FLs, if you like quirky families, and interconnected stories.

The romance part threw me a little off
This drama has been in my watch list for some time. I went into it without any knowledge of plot. The begining was great, really liked the development of characters from children to adults and their bonding. The sacrifice made by them really shows their growth. But when the romance arc began, i wasn't very happy. Maybe because i have seen them as siblings growing together. But I got used to it in a few episodes and even began liking them. Worth of your time!
Story - it started with kids and watching them growing up so basically from childhood to high school to university (bits) till adult. It's relatable to any of us - friendship, love, career, and most importantly family values.Acting - Each of them fit to their roles. Ah especially those aunties like to gossip. Those expression (me rolled eyes)
Music - the songs are soothing to hear and some quite meaningful to listen it
Rewatch Value : Hmm will watch funny parts like the female lead with her friends and sweet & funny moments of siblings. Total skip with be the momsss.
Overall : Good plot, acting and so. Only thing is what's wrong with those female in this drama? Aside female lead & her friends. I just dont like how it portrays all moms in this drama are "bad" - some explained later however more than half of the drama - we misunderstand and it feel like just what's wrong with the moms here. And the most heavy scenes related to certain mom - like doesn't make much of sense that so hateful from beginning till almost end then she was like "we are best friend now" .....haih. Oh and the female doctor. Is it normal culture or something? The way female doctor act? Asking here and there around about the male lead habit and whatsoever and saying things like whether suit to bring him to see her parents but actually she never even interact much with the male lead at all. wth @@
