Legend of Lu Zhen Episode 4 Reactions
Note: I am watching this on Viki so it seems they put part of ep 3 footage in 4
...OMG she is just too cute...how could he NOT fall for her? Lu Zhen has an opportunity to show how honest, caring, virtuous, and genuine she is as she cares for Ah Zhan. She is all bussiness when she dresses his wound, slaps him when he gets too flirtatious, then apologizes and checks on his wound. She tells him he isn't anything special, that she would stop and help anyone. (She is like an ideal lady right here and the complete opposite of the women he is used to...of course he will like her!)
Ah Zhan basically shares with her his family issues without revealing his identity. She tells him he can't give up, shares a bit of her own issues (like how she tried to get in the palace illegally). She returns the jade he gave her because 'he seems to need it' but he won't take it back (i feel like this is important, like a royal emblem). She gains his respect because she tries to give it back, and he admires her smarts as she instead sold fruit to get money for a doctor.
1. Now we are at the cliff. They survive, but are seperated.
2. Once Lu Zhen learns that the jade belongs to a noble, she returns it to the imperial palace. her honesty allows her access as a maid, and they ignore her forged records.
3.Lu Zhen swears she is going to avenge her father
4. She is escorted by another maid who teaches her all about ranks and palace rules. Lu Zhen absorbs it like a sponge. She is then handed over to a young woman (who gave her a nasty look) i guess to teach her
5.This girl causes a scene, accuses her of lying, and is punished by Yan Gu Gu(the severe woman who interviewed her) for having no manners (me thinks I sense another lady who will make things difficult for our female lead)
I felt this episode dragged a little. I also (really) hate the plot device of
every girl hates the female lead'. So annoying. Like it just puts women in such a bad light. On the other hand, I imagine that is a fair assessment of the time period since women were each other's enemy as they struggled to gain power through looks, smarts, beauty, charm etc.
