Disgusted
School 2021 started with such a promising setup, but the execution really fell short. The drama had everything it needed — a unique vocational school setting, dreams versus reality, and characters with real struggles. Ji Won and Jin Ji Won’s relationship was sweet and carried the heart of the show, but the rest of the writing slowly got weaker.One of the biggest misses was with Jung Young Joo and Kang Seo Young. Their story had so much depth to explore. He is a boy who values family despite carrying guilt from his past, and she is an orphan who longs for nothing more than a normal family and ordinary happiness. If the writers gave them a proper happy ending together, it would have been a huge emotional win. Seeing two characters who were broken in different ways finally find comfort in each other could have lifted the whole drama and made the ending more meaningful.
Instead, their arc was left unfinished, just a “maybe.” And that’s where the show lost its chance to shine. The villains were flat, the conflicts wrapped up too easily, and the storylines that mattered most weren’t given the closure they deserved.
Overall, School 2021 had the potential to be something memorable, but it ended up being disappointing. It’s one of those dramas where you can’t help but think: what were they really thinking with the writing?

Love the story
I like the story but it's disappointing because why do hosung need to be a baby father but it's okay because I really love watching school dramas and I hope to see more dramas with this squad I will really miss this squad I love you Yi Hyun, Yohan, Youngwoo, and Boreumbyeol. “Not bad but not good”
I completed this in a day (yes, binge watch all the way!) because of the second lead couple (Choo Young Woo and Hwang Bo Reum) and I wish their relationship had been explored even more than the main lead couple since they had great potential. Watched Jo Yi Hyun in Hospital Playlist and her portrayal was commendable there however, her role as Jin Ji Won did not stand out for me. The expressions and reactions felt a little forced at times but she is a cutie so it’s digestible.The storyline was okay, they pulled in some great rookie actors so that’s a plus point!

it's a good drama overall but everyone's missing the point of it, + why there was lost potential
before i get into my review i need to explain why i think everyone's just completely missed the intention of the drama. it's not meant to be like previous KBS school series. it's not plot heavy and intense but that's the POINT. they don't want a crazy drama they just want a cute, simple one that highlights the characters, their interactions, and their personalities; hence why there are SO many common kdrama tropes in here. if you're watching this focusing on the plot you don't know what' really going on. i loved this show. it's right up my alley of trope-y dramas with the VERY basic second lead (which is never overdone because it really doesn't get old) and the whole best friend dead and blaming each other (this is not a spoiler. this will not change anything for you dw) and then the poor second fl who's mean who becomes nicer etc etc. i also love dramas abt school corruption lol it's just an interesting concept. again, this show was about the characters themselves and NOT the plot. the cast overall was good but i felt the girl who played jiwon needs some work but i still realyl liked it :D the entire cast is gorgeous and the school n all that all look very satisfying i liked the concept of nulji high alot. kijoon's grandpa was one of the best too :Dokay this part is going to include spoilers:
i feel like there was just soo much lost potential with this drama, if they focused a little more on the students rather than the teachers. like how jaehee wanted to make friends and did everything she could to show that she's not the bad person she used to be known for and that she's not for the corruption she benefits from. also the whole divorced teachers thing. it was an interesting concept but they didn't really finish it off well. also jiwon was extremely boring? this entire show i feel like kijoon youngjoo and seoyoung are the only leads with any sort of character development and a sort of "history" we know nothing abt jiwon. also her pouty personality definitely gets boring but it definitely gives me reason to not have wanted her to end up with youngjoo it wouldve been so awkward. i love the childhood friends to lovers concept but i think youngjoo and seoyoung's trope works even better. both with a traumatizing past of losing loved ones, he met her at seoyoungs orphanage and she fell in love immediately. its just so cute dude i like it and how they always got flustered in ep 15 i love them together sooo much they bounce off each other so well truly,

Tough Watch for Several Reasons
This may be a tough watch for some people. Why?- Great cast - overall - great casting - they found some solid actors/actresses.
- Characters - they could have been a little more polished. Storylines had rough transitions. Characters change of heart weren't handled well. Two main ones go from annoying and mean to better but, we don't know why and it takes so long to get through a sentence - you forget that they are nicer or, more relaxed.
- Pacing - watching paint dry is faster. I skipped two entire middle episodes because nothing was moving forward. Nothing - plot wise - was changing.
I will finish this with the fast forward button just so I can move on to something else.

Good Ending
I get bored when watch ep 1-2. Recently i have a time to watch it again. And I am crying when Gong Ki Joon must being a mature man even if he is just high schooler.. A drama which can make me cry is a good drama..I am here because of Produce X101 ep 1. After watching Kim Yo Han First ranking performance he catch my attention. I Skipped the show and searching him on google, and then watch the final of produce X 101.
Just in short of time he is could doing this and that.
I think this drama is good enough. And hope can watch his next drama in the next level of acting skill.

just a feel good drama, where high school students act like one!
As someone who is currently in highschool, the best part was (and mostly in every KBS school 20-- drama) was the fact that the characters and their life was relatable. The main characters didn't include a chaebol or something extra. They were all just normal students with their own personal problems like parents not supporting their dreams, losing loved ones, favoritism and corruption in schools, your crush not liking you back etc.I won't say anyone except Yihyun a good job at acting but they all are rookie actors, and this drama also didn't require a lot of expressions and all, hope their skills improve in the coming projects.
if I rank all the KBS school dramas, then the rankings will be: 15; 21=17; 13

also, it's more of a binge watch drama i must say cuz there are not much intriguing hooks.

It wasn't that bad
I gave a 2nd chance to this drama and I'm glad i did. First time was last year, i couldn't finish the 1st ep cause i thought it was too boring or simply i wasn't paying attention. But i was looking for a school romance, so i decided to watch it again.I've seen mixed reviews about this drama.
Personally i had good time watching it, the acting wasn't that bad as some people say, it was a good acting.
The story itself was nothing special, but i had good feelings watching it, it was chill and calm.

The ups and downs of human relationships
School 2021 is shaping up to be the best in the School franchise. It's focused on human relationship, not just between students but between father and daughter and the adults.It's taking on serious topics without going too deep yet remains powerful and relatable.
The soundtrack is also good, very fitting for the powerful message they want the audience to absorb. And even the main characters are mostly newbies in acting, they are delivering their lines and emotions at the right place and at the right time.

Anyway, I wouldn't watch this if not for the 2 females. And young woo. It's a disappointment for school series.
Plot is so so, but the character Jung Young-Joo is kind of something outdated, kids these days aren't like him. He's completely blind only trusting his small brain doesn't even try to see anything else. Even his partner in the carpentry competition know what's going on but he didn't even try to understand literally take shit face value

Light and Sweet
Did not watch the previous School series, without any expectations surprisingly this series enjoyable to watch.The pacing is nicely paced, main lead acting are good. The second main lead acting a bit off though.
The story is light and suitable for entertainment purpose, no need to think just watch and enjoy. The ending is not too great though, very flat and like just want to end the series quickly with happy ending.
A lot plot not so realistic, like how easy for Ho Sung to just accept that he is a father? Why nobody do DNA test to prove it? He was ghosted by the ex gf, if the ex gf really was pregnant with his baby why don't she tell him instead of ghosted him? And just dump the son when she want to study abroad, like she is not happy with Ho Sung currently move on and have a new gf and just want to ruin Ho Sung life.
When the school director office was robbed, how come there's no alarm? He have the key to the director room?
Ki Joon grandfather surgery went well, then how come he suddenly died?
Overall watching this series is enjoyable if you don't put any expectation and think too much.
Good acting from young actors and actress, especially the main lead ( Kim Yo Han and Cho Yi Hyun)
