Yes, but they also have names. We rarely heard these guys names. Granted, we rarely saw them interacting with their peers, who would use their names, but still ... not that memorable. Of course, I wouldn't want another character to sacrifice their screen time to make it so. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they stole time from HONG JIANG. arrgh

In addition to the narrator in the novel, XY refers to him as Xiang Liu in both the novel and the drama in these parts, even though his hair is still black.

I didn't realize she actually called him XL there. But he seems part FFB and part XL. It's a bit strange. I need to watch that clip show again. I mean, she knows he's XL after that scene where FFB comes to her bedroom to be healed.

If it's any consolation, I watched one of the early interviews with TJC, and he says something like, he doesn't think it's a bad or unhappy ending. It's an ending he chose. XL fulfilled his mission to both Hong Jiang and XY. He made XY's future and happiness possible.
I'll have to see if I can find it. It's very reassuring.
