Yes 🤣 it’s cause they don’t have the full story so everyone is just making assumptions. Plus Xiang Liu gave up his FFB persona and they needed a good cover story. XY refused to tell Xuan and the yellow emperor what happened she just said FFB died so Xuan came up with the whole killing him thing. Plus, they have no idea that XY is making medication for Jing so there’s that.

During the recent Aug 14th cast livestream, Tan Jian Ci and Yang Zi were both discussing the scene from episode 34 "when you escaped from the death arena, if it was I who saved you", and made me think that XY MUST have known that XL had feelings for her because even Yang Zi said "FFB had already reached out his hand that close to XY's face, how could XY NOT know what XL's feelings/intentions (心意 xīn yì) were."

So while I'm hurting for our poor XL, it's good to know that at least XY knows that he loves her, no matter how hard our stupid little demon tries to ruin his own ship 😭😭
I wish there were subs for that livestream. The bits I've seen it looks like fun.
Also, I don't see how XY does NOT know that XL loves her.

TJC also mentioned that during that scene, when he reached out to touch her face and she didn't move out of the way and had a change in expression, which moved him, he remembers that moment very deeply.

Woah! This is so interesting to read! @chase_kaden : I must admit that I’m a bit disappointed that the ending in the drama is the same as the novel—I was holding out in the hopes that Tong Hua would make a little change for the drama like what @SirryUsly suggested (“The only edit I wanted was for her to somehow figure out how to get to the letter. We don't need to see her read it.“)…*Sigh— wishful thinking on my part.
Maybe there's a little hope. We don't know how it'll play out in S2. They could add some things not in the novel or tweak a bit here and there. But better to low our expectations just like XL, so as not to be disappointed 😉
