I'll never forgot about XL either. This is the first time a fictional character has ever had this effect on me. 

And you're right that she didn't value him enough. In her last encounter with him, she shot him with an arrow to his chest and told him she hated him and never wanted to see him again. When she found out about his death, she regretted what she said and cried so much.
