Jing heals Xiaoyao? Fuck right off. He makes her worse and less capable of living independently and being happy in the future than she was before she let herself be sucked into his mess. You know who heals Xiaoyao? Xiang Liu. He's the only character in this entire story that aims to help her improve herself, become free and confident and succeeds. And Jing? "I just want to lock you up deep in my mansion so no one else can look at you or try to steal you away from me". Like, are we being serious right now? Are we really going to pretend that's sweet or healthy, for anyone, under any circumstances, ever?kitty_momo:
Does Jing actually say that??
I have a post I started talking about empowering and de-powering XY, but I need to think about it a bit more. But I agree. XL definitely empowers XY.
Here, have some nice gifs.

I'm so glad you all exist. I came here to regain some sanity after seeing a picture on twitter of when Jing is about to kiss Xiaoyao in S2... You know, related to The-Scene-That-Must-Not-Be-Named.
I don't know what it is. The way Jing is written? The way Xiaoyao becomes around/because of Jing? The implications of glorifying a relationship like theirs?
Either way, their relationship makes me so viscerally uncomfortable, it's hard to express. Save me LMAO.
I feel you. So much. He makes my skin crawl. Even more so when the Jingers paint him as this Ideal Husband Material™. He's not. He's co-dependent, he's wimpy and he can't protect anyone, much less himself.
XY ending up with him is the worst thing that could possibly have happened to her. They don't heal each other, all they do is become worse in their respective underlying issues. That's not healthy. But sure, XL is the toxic one. What a joke.

TRUTHFUL ON THIS
Ohhhhh yeahhhh XL is that guy an real strength, drive, booster, energy power you need to meet in you life!!! He taught her so much and always knew what she wants !! Annoying this kiddo Jing taking credits when he look likes an stop moving sign that cuts your wings and prevents you from moving forward you need to escape when you meet.

I couldn't stand Jing stalking XY every time she was with FFB. It made me super uncomfortable and gave me flashbacks to my stalker. Very creepy.

Their relationship is very surface level. It's like Xiao Yao isn't her true self when she's with him. He doesn't understand her like XL does.

This is the truth 100%. That fox and XY have a codependent relationship. These definitions fit them exactly:
A person who is codependent will plan their entire life around pleasing the other person, or the enabler. The codependent's self-esteem and self-worth will come only from sacrificing themselves for their partner, who is only too glad to receive their sacrifices.
A codependent relationship is a kind of dysfunctional relationship where one person is a caretaker, and the other person takes advantage.
I see XY being the caretaker while Jing is the one that's being taken care of. She washes and combs his hair, gives him medicine, and in the future, will be the one to protect him smh.
The Jingers will say, oh, you just don't understand. Xiaoyao is so pitiful and traumatized, her relationship with Jing is so sweet and just what she needs to heal. Jing is such a green flag. Well, I have a lot of personal and professional experience with childhood trauma and how to overcome and heal it, and I beg to differ.kitty_momo:
Yes, I don't see XY overcoming her trauma at the end of the book. What's she going to do if Jing suddenly dies? I doubt she'll want to go on living.
Anyway. Rant over. Send nice gifs please.kitty_momo:
The gifs are coming soon :D
Does Jing actually say that??Kokuto:
YES THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HE SAYS.
Jing continued “But when I met you was when I realized that when a person fell in love then nothing mattered about requirements.” Jing tenderly smiled at Xiao Yao “You’re not quiet but I’m plenty quiet enough and can use someone as talkative as you; you’re not refined and demure and constantly want to thwack me, but when you wash my hair and feed me medicine you are exquisitely gentle; you don’t know the arts but I do and I can show them off to entertain you; you can’t embroider but I’m not marrying a seamstress and I can buy the talents of the best seamstress around; you don’t know business but I do and I can make more than enough to take care of you; with how chatty you are, even in another thousand years we won’t run out of things to discuss; you’re not needed to run the household and you hate socializing which is fine by me because I would love to hide you deep inside my residence so that no one can see you and try to snatch you from me…..”
Xiao Yao’s expression got brighter and she stared at Jing.
XY didn't see anything wrong with what he said?! TF.

Kokuto:
You know. This is not the first patriotic singing event thingee I've seen him do. Is that something all the entertainers do in China?
Doggies!
I don't know this woman. Is she an interviewer or an actress?
Wow so long not here and so many things going on.
But just wanted to say this is GEM Deng Ziqi, she is a quite famous singer from HK. She invited him for her MV but then COVID came and after that he didn’t have the time and he had to cancel it although they already filmed some part.
