TCJ in real life doesn't scream ethereal aloof god. He is a very cute adorable funny pretty boy in real life. So I can understand the casting concern but the shows production team and his acting is next level.
I am glad for him. I think YY would be a wooden block and even though XL was my favorite in the book, I was expecting a really terrible wooden background type XL. I was pleasantly surprised to see how TCJ captured both his aloofness and passion so well.

I think DW was more appealing in Miss the Dragon because he actually had pretty good chemistry with Pan Mei Ye. The chemistry between DW and Yang Zi is...dry, if I'm being charitable. The weird thing is, I recently saw a couple of behind the scenes clips of DW and Huang Can Can who plays Fanfeng Yiying and they had cute chemistry, they were joking around and she made him smile a big goofy grin.
