The novel ending made me so sad

Thank you for the link!  I love this ending and hope the drama follows its lead.

Did Chang Xuan marry several women before he won the throne?  


In the trailer, he says he doesn't want XY to congratulate her every time he marries.

Yes he did, he married several and several, it was a full harem

In order to consolidate his claim to the throne, he married those women.  No wonder Xiao Yao didn't want to be together with him.  

She just wants a peaceful life.  TSJ is still the best candidate.

What happened to TSJ's older brother?  Did TSJ kill him?

In the novel, TSJ's fiancee is impregnated by his older brother, who then pretends the baby is his. TSJ's older brother betrays the fiancee, who then realizes TSJ older brother never loved her but instead used her to hurt TSJ. Later on, there is a scene where she tricks TSJ into an ambush of TSJ by his older brother, but with the secret intent of killing TSJ older brother and herself. All three seem to die. FL later finds out Xuan was involved due to jealousy of Jing. 

Omg I am at page 42, I havnt gptten there yet, I can’t believe xuan is involved

CX and XY reconcile in  Chapter 50.  So, it's a good ending for CX except he had lost XY forever.
