Episode Title: Become one
Shimura joins the regular class, but he is not well-received by the instructor, Igarashi, who uses punches as punishment. Tachibana hears from Igarashi that he should quit because of his past criminal activity. As a part of training, the students must go on night patrol. Suzuki is attacked, and he falsely accuses Tachibana. Tachibana is told to resign and leave the academy. Shimura and the "S" class attempt to stall Tachibana's exit. Later, Shimura and Nijima share a moment to Momoe's dismay.

Beginners! Episode 5 Reactions
...that this drama came out this year! It's right up my alley; it has the right kind of comedy, that touch of cute romance, and that dose of friendship that good comedic dramas should have.
I'm so excited to see Shimura's father return--we learn in this episode that whatever he did helped end someone's life, and that Shimura's sister is scared to death of him. It makes me intrigued as to what exactly happened, and how Sakuraba and the Director are involved.
I was really impressed with Hiromitsu in this episode. We saw a range of emotions not seen from the Tachibana character as of yet. I liked that his character has a depth that we're only beginning to suss out. That's a strong point of this drama--everyone seems to have something that they're not proud of or a weakness that they need to overcome.
