A beautiful drama including many interesting stories

This drama was very unique and I loved it. The drama goes through many different stories as the main leads work together. All of these stories are about people who passed away and the people around them making this drama very sad in my opinion.

The characters were all unique and interesting making me want to know more and the casting was amazing. I especially loved Lee Je Hoon in this drama. I would really enjoy a second season of this drama. It made me want more.

This drama is a must watch for kdrama lovers and could definitely atrack non kdrama watchers.

An emotional rollarcoaster

I'm typically a person that doesn't cry to kdramas, but with "Move to Heaven" I cried during every episode; once even sobbed straight through the 45 minute long ep.

Even though most of the episodes followed the same pattern, trauma cleaning cases + the general plot of the story moving forward, it never felt repetitive. Each case was unique and the plot was nicely done, which makes you really focus on the actual message of the show.

The acting was phenomenal and made you ache, cry or laugh with the characters. I especially wanna compliment Tang Junsang for his realistic acting of a person who has Asperger's syndrome, even though I understand that each person who has this might act differently.

This was simply an amazing show and I recommend everyone to watch it; but be warned that it's a tear-jerker!

“Being special in this world can put you at risk”

First i want to say that is one of my favorite quotes, cause i feel like it sums up the life of an autistic/disabled person. as an autistic person, we may lack in some areas but how i see it, is how when you lose one of your senses your other senses become stronger. you may lack social skills but have above average math skills as an example. however we are much higher at risk for dangerous situations. i feel like this drama showcased but the beauty and struggles of autism.

since the spectrum is quite big, not every person on it will have the same exact traits. every autistic person is uniquely and beautifully different, however being autistic myself, as well as losing my own dad, i found geu roo to be extremely realistic and relatable. i sometimes will spit out information that makes people go like “??” and i stim A LOT but when im very overwhelmed i have self injury stims like geuroo banging his head, just as a few examples.

as far as acting everyone was amazing but i want to focus on just how incredible tangjoon is. he was always able to change the emotion in his eyes without changing his facial expressions. even if his face stayed the same the whole time, you could always tell just by his eyes if he was happy, sad, stressed etc, and im beyond impressed and i cant believe hes only a month younger than me.

every critique i have is so small i dont think theyre worth mentioning and thats just how beautiful this story is. so overall, if youre looking for something that is going to make you laugh, cry and maybe want to punch your screen, this is the show for you and you should definitely watch it!!

Every tears brought to me by this drama is totally worth it

18/10

It's been ages since I've seen a kdrama that made me cry so damn hard. I think the last time I've bawled like this was Scarlet heart. And watching this satisfies my hunger for a a drama like this.

First of all, I really love their concept of trauma cleaners and made Geu-ru a unique person. It is so special and captivates me right away. I love how the characters developed and every stories of the dead people talk about the society. How fucked up and it is and makes you realize and think about a person's situation before you judge them. I like how they only put instrumental music when a heavy scene is being portrayed. Makes you appreciate the acting done and cry not because of the sad song but because of the acting made at that heavy scene.

The ending might be kind of open. But it ended in a very beautiful way. And how it gives a subtle hint of season 2 because of some unresolved business with the uncle and that mysterious girl.

But overall, again, if I can rate this masterpiece more than 10, I'll rate it 18 because that's my favourite number and shows how I became attached on every stories tackled and told by this art.

What A Wonderful Surprise Of A Drama !!!!!!!!!!!!

What a drama! Nothing you can expect! Lee Je Hoon totally surprise me with his character. He looked like a different person. The stories with each episode is great. The characters are all great. I enjoy this drama so much. How well the actors portrait their characters. I have a special person who is Autistic and Tang Jun Sang portrayed the character perfectly. I hated to see it finish and hoping for a second season. I give it to the director and the writers this was a perfect story. From the music, to each topic in every episode, which I learn so much, was touching and so well done. It is my favorite this year.

Awesome.......!

Since from Frist trailer i knew the fact that this drama going to be a masterpiece. You can actually feel that vibe from the trailer itself. It's been almost 2 months now after it got released on Netflix but it took me some time to watch and finally i finished and just want to say something about it. This is really an awesome experience, i don't know How can a kdrama make you go through all the human emotions every time you watch....? I mean there were always something the magical behind all the kdramas still i can't figure it out that. But anyway Move to heaven is a must watch drama.

So as always am not going deep into the story and plot which you can understand after you watch the trailer. So you knew everything that's going to happen from the trailer. But still it's a wonderful experience. Here everything was so perfect. And 2 things that clinch you till the end. One was the performance of Tang ju Sung & Lee je hoon and the other thing was the writing.. each and every scene and that dialogues are really heartwarming.

10 episode with short duration can say around 45 min each was a feel free watch experience. There was not a much dragging or boring sequences. The finale episode was so touching.. for a moment i thought of i don't want to end this drama. Its a pure masterpiece. Definitely you must watch this if you are a feel good slice of life drama lover.. Go god this made day❤️ i can't forget this experience for a long....

Greater than a 10! Kudos!

This is an exceptional and phenomenal series that is not only riveting, but thought provoking, sensitive, and portrays the life of someone on the Autistic Spectrum with precision. Having worked in this field for decades, I was impressed with its accuracy. The story telling is unique and beautifully told. The characters are so noteworthy but in every sense of the word, absolutely relatable. This is must-see viewing Each story can stand on its own yet they are all a part of an entire picture. The warmth and growth each character displays, albeit on their own individual terms, is a thing of beauty to watch. You honestly care about these individuals and you want them to be themselves and accept the faults and short-comings of each other. That really is their story. This series is a masterclass in showing what humans really are. Flawed. Imperfect. Weak. Yet, capable of caring and loving each other on so many different levels despite the shortcomings. Kudos for a near perfect series.

Korean Rambo?

Yes, there were the underground boxing scenes - that was the only thing similar to the movie Rambo. But the story was far from it and much more meaningful.

The story centred around a 20-year autistic old boy whose father died suddenly and his guardianship was passed to his estranged uncle. The father and son ran a cleaning service for the deceased. As the story unfolds, the reasons behind how the differences between his uncle and father happened are revealed, and so was the true relationship between the autistic boy and the father. The unwilling uncle took on the guardianship with his eyes on the only property the father had left behind but much more developed after.

While this was interesting, what was more heart-rending was each of the stories behind each deceased and how the boy insisted on carrying on his father's tradition of helping the deceased fulfilled their most important wishes. This drama helped those who thought they were the most unfortunate people in the world realised that they were often not - in the same way as had happened to the uncle.

The acting is superb especially the 3 main leads. No beautiful costumes and dresses - just simple casual clothes and boring uniforms. No glamourous princes and princesses but the average lower middle class and lower decile individuals. The music only just meet the mark, suited to the story. And I might not watch this again. But I enjoyed this drama tremendously - it was more meaningful than a lot of other highly rated drama I had watched and therefore I decided to give it a full 10.

LOVELY is what this is

This drama is such a fine quality. Top-notch acting, aesthetic cinematography, authentic story. But most importantly, the quality of relationships. (High quality human relationships are my medicine.) Every single thing about this is beautiful. It's worth every tear and emotion that puts you through every episode.

Also, I'm in love with Sanggu and especially his hair style. Last but not least, I want to hug Geuru so much but I won't and you know why. But I guess I can force hug Sanggu and Namu. I'm also in love with her and Geuru's names. As one can see, this fills you with love so much that it turns you into a headless chicken who wants to love and hug every one of them that comes across you.

One of the best and loveliest things I've ever watched. Thanks to whomever so much for making this.

Good drama, bad portrayal of autism

The cinematography and acting are great. The stories are interesting, tho sometimes it tried too hard to make me feel and failed at it.

But the portrayal of autism is not so great. Geo-ru doesn't feel like a person, he feels like a mascot. He's utterly static in his character, doesn't develop at all through the story, other than getting over the death of his father. He can only talk in a totally robotic chanting voice 24/7(that's not how flat affect works), lightly bang his head against the wall when stressed(that's not how meltdowns look, they are usually more violent and dangerous for everyone involved) and keep talking about fishes when under pressure(special interests are just interests people on spectrum pursue with passion, they aren't tantrum-esque coping mechanism for real-life stress).

All the while he is unconditionally supported by just about everyone in the story, his father, his mother, his (not) gf, his uncle, the trash guy, his father's co-workers, the prosecutor lady, the people at the aquarium, the lawyer.....everyone is super patient and understanding to him, and is way too eager to run to his rescue if he is but in slightest danger of anything. Even his kidnapper was nice to him.
This idealized sugar sweet life is not what most people who are autistic live.

Examples of some situations that could have given him character development but where unexplored by the writers:

-When they go to clean up crime scene, Na-mu says she's scared. Geo-ru says the murder happened two weeks ago, and there is no one here, so there is no reason for her to be scared. Here Na-mu could have said something among the lines "Even though there is no reason, I am still afraid, don't invalidate my feelings" and then they could have discussed it. Geo-ru could have tried to understand that people can feel emotional states even if there is no logical basis for them, and learn something from it. Alas, Na-mu is his devoted 100% supporter, and didn't say anything.

-When Geo-ru sees some guys smoking in the toilet, he throws a tantrum and tells them its forbidden and threatens them and so on. In return, they bully him. Shortly afterwards, the uncles runs to his help, and everything ends up "fine". Except it doesn't. Here Geo-ru could have had a reflection, maybe reach some kind of epiphany, that not everyone follows or respects same rules as him. That maybe next time he shouldn't act like that towards strangers. But alas, he thinks nothing.

-In one of the flashbacks, his father tells him that the key to understanding other people is putting themselves in their own shoes. No shit, genius. But that's the thing with autism. People on spectrum can't do it, even if they try, even if they know in theory what they should do. When autistic person puts themselves in shoes of someone else, they overwrite the person in question with their own "self". In other words, "I wouldn't do it, so this person won't do it!", "I wouldn't believe it, so this person won't believe it!", "I wouldn't say it, so this person won't say it!". This is called impaired cognitive empathy and is one of the key characteristics of the autism spectrum disorder, one that causes most problems with social functioning in a neurotypical world where people take such skills for granted.
If Geo-ru was a well written autist, he would say something like "I try, but fail!". He would have argued against his father, instead of obediently nodding his head like a puppy and agreeing to everything, as if it solved anything.

There is also inconsistency with how his autism works. It works when the plot needs it, and shuts down when the plot doesn't focus on it. One example is Geo-ru getting a meltdown while driving, possibly from overstimulation. Autistic people are very sensitive to sounds and light, so it kinda makes sense why he is discouraged from doing it, and quite an achievement he even has a driving license in the first place. But in the last episode, he goes to a loud af underground MMA ring, straight into a huge croud of screaming people, flashing neons and squeezes his way through said crowd. Then proceeds to analyze the situation calmly and comes up with a solution to the challenge ahead. Excuse me, what?

In another example, Geo-ru fails at understanding people and reading the mood. Except for that one time when Sang-gu and social worker were arguing about the deceased couple, and Sang-gu says something insensitive. Awkward silence follows, and eventually Sang-gu leaves. Only then does Geo-ru resume conversation. How did Geo-ru notice that? It would be much more in character if he completely failed to read the mood, and kept talking about the job without noticing the tense exchange between the other two.

And how was his nonverbalism cured? At the age of ~6 or so, his parents took him to Aquarium, and he suddenly started talking fluently looking at fish, even tho he had never ever spoken before in his life. Excuse me, what? Never mind the neurological causes of nonverbal expression in autism, a person who never spoke before would not be able to speak so well on their first try. They'd need practice. Their vocal cords wouldn't be used to making sounds, and they'd have low control over pitch and volumne, among other things.

So yeah. Quite good, wholesome slice of life series. Not that sad tbh. And with not so great portrayal of ASD. For a better portrayal of this misunderstood and misrepresented disorder, I recommend Taiwanese drama Victim's Game.

What a lovely story

This review DON’T contain spoilers.

So to begin with:: THIS DRAMA IS WORTH EVERY SECOND!
It hit you everywhere.
I needed a bucket and lot of tissues.
Sooo heartwarming ❤️

The drama brings you close to each character.
You really get a kind of bonding and it hurts when a character need to say good bye.

Some story’s are really realistic.
As example: a family that won’t miss you, someone without any family or friends, real events that happens in the past ( the disaster of Sampoong building, illegal adoptions etc.)

What I liked the most are the actors and their acting skills.
They brought every character alive.
Their acting where AMAZING.
In a second you get from a smile on your face to tears or anger.
Amazing job.
And the soundtracks, love it~ 🥰
The music drag you along to the whole drama.

What I also love the most is this was a different kind of k-drama.
This time no big love triangle, product promotions, drama’s, all the usual stuff in k-drama’s.
A ML with ASS, a FL that is a good supporting friend, crazy, really kind, tuff uncle that will take your heart.
I call it a golden duo.

We need more of this kind of K-Drama.
That take you to a different perspective 🥰

1000/10

trust me, you’ll cry

I had this drama on my list since a really long time but I never actually read the synopsis or anything but since I had nothing to watch these days, I tought about watching it.
I had zero expection yet, this show is really worth it. I binged watch it in less than 3 days. First of all, the cast is really good, the actors play well and match their character.
Overall, the show is good, as a perso who always skip the boring scenes, I didn’t skip once. All the little story were really touching and you might drop a little tear for some of them but what I prefered is really the whole background of Geuru’s family (counting his uncle) I really wasn’t expecting this. I cried during the scene where Geuru’s mother is at the hospital, I don’t even know why because I’m not the kind of people who really cry in front of dramas but it actually touched me deeply.
It’s such a good show that deserve its high reviews!! I even recommend it to my mother who’s such a picky drama fan and she loves it !!
