Why did they bother?

Honestly, the only good thing is the OST and that could be because it's basically recycled songs from the original. I won't lie, I sure did only give this 1 episode and 10:15 of the next episode to come up with the fact that I couldn't like this show. The main character that it appears we should be "rooting" for, is honestly a compilation of insanely bad traits from both Hongli (Qianlong) and Yingluo. More emphasis on the Emperor's ridiculous explosive temper. She treats her cousin (Princess Siwan) atrociously. Which another thing, I did not and WILL NOT like Prince He from the original series, but to know his daughter turned out like that? Well. That's just a matter of disbelief and a combination of "seeing is believing". If one were to swap both Princess Zhaohua and Siwan? I would've been a bit more inclined to believe that Siwan is actually the daughter of the main characters. Also the Mongol Prince seemed so nice--- I don't know. I just cannot deal with it. If I can go through 70 episodes of the original show with no problem and I can't care about just 6 episodes because right off the bat, the presented character(s) are annoying lol.
