A good story
Personally both actors have done there part well also other actors too. The storyline will be cleared after 3 eps so far the story is good. Waiting for the remaining eps .. hoping to get a satisfying end.Anyways I have many recommendations for who r looking for.. Falling into your simile

Well I also recommend My Demon although I don't follow kdramas but this drama has kept me busy waiting anxiety.. but I only wanted after ep 5 so... Anyways it is a must watch.

Not happy with ending .
The story starts off engagingly, incorporating a pig concept to add some humor to the scenes. To prove his parents' innocence, a boy endures numerous challenges. Though he possesses powerful spiritual abilities, he initially doesn't know how to harness them. When conflicts escalate, leading to numerous casualties, his latent power briefly emerges to restore order. However, since he doesn't know how to control his abilities, he often relies on Murong Zi Ying to save him. In the final episodes, as chaos reigns, he musters all his power to strike decisively.The ending for the female lead's character seems unjustified and doesn't make much sense to me. I expected the main characters to wield the sword together to resolve the conflict that began 19 years ago.
I hoped to see their marriage and a beautiful family, with Murong Zi Ying ending up with Meng Li.
As someone who enjoys romantic subplots might don't like the drama .The limited romance in this story left me feeling less engaged.
The one who play the role of Yun Tian He, hats off amazing acting .Truly remarkable performance.
Looking forward more drama of his.
I like one dialogue of his, " My Life is upto me, not you".
I like the way the female lead actor hit him with love whenever he said something stupid and when he show his innocency.

A better drama compared to Sword & Fairy 6/Chinese Paladin 6 but has pacing issues
As mentioned by everyone, this drama sadly has pacing issues.The first 10 episodes also sends a wrong message about the show being about the coming of age of the MC and starts off slowly, but quickly changes into the usual "Demons are coming and I'm going to save the world" xianxia.
There's also a huge info dump around the last 10 episodes.
Of course if you watch often, you'd already know that this is very typical of dramas from China.
The criticism aside, the show is still a much better experience to watch compared to Sword and Fairy 6, which is airing at the same time as this drama simply because of the action/fight scenes. This is a mix of traditional and modern action scenes, where the usual finger pointing is still present but there's also a lot of acrobatics, making it a very enjoyable watch.
While Sword and Fairy 6 is basically Naruto, where the pacing is much better but everyone is just doing hand signs.
That said, Both Sword and Fairy dramas still falls into the "Demons are coming and I'm going to save the world" trope regardless as it's an adaptation from the game and can't really stray too far off.

Better than expected
Good story and characters. I am loving everything CZY does. The villains are a riot and still dangerous. The story generally moves along well. The CGI isn’t bad. The sets are really well done in most cases. The elephant in the room is Ju Jingyi . After seeing her with Zhang Zhehan, I felt she kept up and could get better. It has not happened. Can directors just get someone else to do these parts. Fair Xing and Luang Jie are both far better choices. Otherwise, this was a really good.Was this review helpful to you?
I love Ju Jingyi
I'd say that this was a pretty good drama to watch, it's not too long but it has enough to keep the story and viewers entertained.Story :
The story was pretty unique compared to the other dramas under this genre. We have a boy with special capabilities, ventures down a mountain to go join this magic sect, meets some friends who work together to kill demons and save the world. It's pretty different but has similarities. Something I really enjoyed in this drama was how there was no misunderstandings between the main couple. Though yes there were love rivals for both the male and female leads but they never did anything to ruin the relationship between the main couple. They allowed them to be happy without causing any extra drama or problems, which is something I find so special when I come across it in dramas. There were also a couple plot twists which kept me entertained, I never felt bored watching and the scenes between the main couple was so cute, and the scenes with the main 4 group was also as cute.
Music :
The music was pretty good overall. The beginning song for when they play all the credits was kind of boring as there were no words, but the songs during the battle scenes were really good. I don't really remember if there's a song where Ju Jingyi sings but I hope there is because I love her voice and she usually sings one song in every drama she stars in.
Acting:
The main lead acting pretty good. OMG Ju Jingyi!!!! I've seen comments about her acting and how she doesn't really show emotion but I really like her character in this drama. I think she did a good job at portraying her. Her character is a carefree and very sneaky girl who likes to make jokes and stuff. Her character was very well done and not forgettable. Chen Zheyuan was also really good. His character is a very carefree and innocent personality. Although he has gone through a lot of hardships, he still remains innocent even after finding out his dad was supposedly a "traitor" to the magic sect. The other two actors was also pretty good, though I find their characters kind of forgettable. I love how the main couple had no misunderstandings and a lot of sweet scenes. Even when something bad as going to happen and when Han Lingsha was trying to push Yun Tianhe towards Liu Mengli as she liked him too, but he insisted on staying with her even though she is known to have a shorter lifespan than most other people which was so cute.
Ending:
The ending was ok but not satisfying. It was very empty? I don't really know how to explain it but it felt incomplete. I guess you can say it was a happy ending as most people got their own ending but it just doesn't seem complete. Although the part where all four of them reunite years later, like they said they would do before was really nice. I love how the producers didn't forget about the promise and added a part like that. the fact that the main couple accepted each other and decided to live the rest of their lives happily and not worrying about anything else was so sweet. Overall this drama was so cute and I really enjoyed it, definitely a rewatch.

Sword and Fairy, where is fairy?
Two series, "Sword and Fairy", were added at one time. In one I like Ester Yu, in this one I like Chen Zheyuan. I guess I expected something more, the drama was interesting, and from a certain moment I couldn't wait for the next episode. However, the ending left me very disappointed. First of all, it is obviously not a happy ending for me, and secondly, many threads were not fully explained to me. Thirdly, I hoped that with the powers that ML had, something would definitely happen. Nice quiet drama with a few twists and turns. Great Drama
So far so good. All the characters are likable and some might have flaws but that leaves room for development. I love the action scenes as well as a little bit of romance. The drama was fast paced, and there were no boring moment. I think C-drama lovers should give it a try.The female male lead is my favorite character. She is very funny and smart. She has flaws but I think there will be development in her character. Her makeup are not bad, I don’t know why people are complaining. I don’t see anything wrong with the makeup style.
There’s chemistry between the ML and FL. It make the drama very fun to watch.

Cinematography is excellent as expected
Cinematography is excellent as expected of IQIYI.The story seems not interesting at first you need more 2 episodes but it will get exciting enough. The story have solid plot that's why I rated it 7.5
The chemistry of the leads are okay.
CP4 is the most popular gameplay but hard to adapt in my opinion.
The acting of Ju JingYi is okay in my opinion. She's pretty to look at and have no problem with makeup. I like her acting more here than the other drama

Annoying acting of cast which ruined the show
My habit is that, even if I don't like the show I still try some episodes before dropping it , and for chen zhe yuan i tried 10 episodes but this drama is really not captivating for me at all ...i really do not like acting of casts except for tianhe and ziying , and this drama is full of elders who seems upright and righteous but are demons from inside , i really hate these kinds of elders who uses their disciples for their own good ...
i do not even like the concept that Tianhe 's father died before teaching his son some basic rules for living ...he is the worst father i have seen . His father at least told him to not believe in anyone from outside world and never leave the mountains but how foolishly he got tricked by lingsha ...
the character of lingsha is on my nerve , in ep 6 she wants immortality and for this she can even sacrifice her friends ... what kind of mentality is this ... even if she has some backstory but she has no right to decieve other people ...
even the couple in this drama are not fixed
Although CGI is good but i also do not like two colours in tianhe eyes ...
this drama is very much reminds me of snow eagle lord - very powerful ML whose powers are hidden , annoying elders , disciples got punished according to useless rules , and many more similarity ...
If the acting is better , i will definitely watch it ...but i do not want to continue when i know it is going to be a sad ending ...

PERFECT DRAMA!
this drama is really good! I really enjoyed it, I even watched it many times, plus good CGI, each episode has its own charm...Jujingyi's acting is also getting better😍 I like him playing Han Lingsha and Chenzheyuan has good acting and can bring the drama with a cute primitive child impression🤭It's really adorable, I'm carried away by the chemistry. In this drama I haven't seen any other dramas anymore❤️❤️❤️ From SF4 there are lots of lessons that we can take in life as our preparation too...sadness, happiness, hilarity are also there in this drama, it's very complete, I really like it!!!Was this review helpful to you?
