In the Shanghai district, the government was interrogating a communist but their torture went a bit too far, the man died. Chen Mo Zun, the Station Chief suspect that there was a spy in his station as they were having trouble rounding up the suspected communists despite having intel on them, so he went to their national training centre to recruit someone who could smell out the traitor. Mo Zun chose Lin Nancheng despite being warned that he was not the best military wise. Zuo Qiu Ming, Nancheng best friend was better in warfare. Mo Zun, however, thinks that Nancheng will suit the mission he will be handling because he was very observant. Mo Zun offered to take Nancheng to Shanghai with him but he had to make it clear to him that once he is in, he can’t get out. Nancheng is a patriot and readily agreed, and was thrown immediately into the deep end when they arrived in Shanghai. Mo Zun told him what his mission was going to be. And to make him really aware of what was going on, he took Mo Zun to the dungeon where they had several communists imprisoned. One of them was currently being tortured. Mo Zun took Nancheng up close to the man being tortured and saw that he was very young. Mozun told Nancheng that Commies were just like everyone else, in fact, they could be your mother, father, sister, friends. Mo Zun made Nancheng swear that if that was the case, he should be ready to kill them. (Source: Global Granary)
