But Battle of Changsha is a lot better and All Quiet in Beijing needs patience and a little boring. If u like politics or historcial drama, this is one of a kind

Both dramas are set around the same era, with a military ML and an innocent FL forced to grow up quickly after enduring hardship and tragedy.

Eyes of Dawn focuses on the Japenese side of the Sino-Japanese war from 1938 onward. It adds another perspective to what was going on at the time.
This drama also touchs on the fighting after the sino-Japanese war in China.

Both are slice-of-life dramas.
Both are family-centred.
Both are slow-burn stories.
Both have little but good romance.

Same years war times. Strong females. Serious story. Dying characters. Love triangles. I like both. I cant decide which one is better. Battle of changsha is a happy love story, I dont know if beauty of north is a love story or not. Writer chose the best groom btw but It happened so late Im not satisfied.

- the overall ambiance/narrative are pretty similar
- both take place in the 1930s/1940s
- both are heavy on family dynamics; love, hate, strife, etc.
- both are well-written and executed
- amazing cast of characters you won't soon forget
- the romance is beautiful, yet heartwrenching in both
- emotionally moving and angst-y
- will make you cry at least once, 100% guaranteed
