Zang Hai's intelligence and journey of revenge

Zang Hai carried out the first revenge. Yang got the death he deserved. The other bad guys are left. Although I don't know in detail how the dragon gate closed, it is similar to the comment I made in the last episode. I'm always amazed by Zang Hai's master's acting. Xiang An Tu will be the girl who left a scar on Zhi Nu when she was little. I really envy Zang Hai's intelligence 😭😭😭😭

New Schemes to set up

just like i thoght the trick matched, still was a gusty and risky gamble by the ML, considering how many failure points it had.now that his base is set up new schemers have opening come out to the scene.

Interesting!

It's getting more interesting! Every second is counting actually, cause every step Zang Hai taking is something the future holds... He is so calculative person and that's why I like his character! The ending of this episode was really funny, when Xiang An Tu got caught!

Watch Out

Zang Hai is getting JingPing to think of him as one of his own. But in reality he is getting a wolf in sheeps clothes. He thinks he can control him but there is no way he is going to be able to stop him from getting his revenge. I just hope he doesn't try to kill him too quick and make a mistake. We do have 32 episodes left lol.

Legendary Xiao Zhan 🔥

Watching from Pakistan — amazing VFX and story!Legendary Xiao Zhan 🔥, an incredible talent ✨ who truly brought his character to life with depth and intensity. The Legend of Zang Hai delivers a perfect blend of action, mystery, and fantasy. The production quality is top-tier — from breathtaking cinematography to beautifully choreographed fight scenes. Visual effects are movie-level, especially the underwater sequences and mythical creatures. Supporting cast also shined with strong performances. The costume design, background music, and set details create a rich world that pulls you in. Easily one of the best Chinese dramas of 2025. Highly recommended!

Five Stars

After the emotional storm of Episode 7, this episode gave a bit more breathing room—but not for long. Zanghai is now more proactive, taking steps to confront his enemies from the shadows while also navigating growing suspicions around him. What I liked about Episode 8 is how it showed Zanghai’s duality—how he balances the mask of calm with the fire of vengeance underneath. Xiao Zhan continues to impress by keeping the character layered—strategic, observant, but still emotionally grounded. The pacing here is smart; it allows viewers to absorb the consequences of the last episode while clearly pointing toward the next big confrontation. Episode 8 was quieter, but full of calculated moves—and Zanghai is clearly preparing to strike.

New alliances

I am glad they explained how the stone worked. I have to admit it was funny seeing him try to get the dam opened again. That was a very clever plan, it is just sad none of the other men could benefit from it. I was surprised to see him in a carriage with the Marquis. I guess I shouldn’t have been because how else can he be dealt with? That was a very candid conversation with a viper poised to strike. He did make valid strategic points about how the Marquis’ chosen ones weakened as much or even more as assisted him. Zang Hai played his hand well but there is no telling how a cornered person will act. He lucked out and his life is at least temporarily spared. The back up plan with arrow launcher, probably to indicate new enemies, was also clever and here I did laugh when first he wants the fuse to hurry up and then it’s like no no stop burning 😂His mentor is a good guard for him. I like that he checked in on him personally to check in Zang Hai’s wounds. I am also relieved none of them thought to poison the darts. Zang Hai is now in an official position with a set raise and given lodging right next to the Marquis. He is even invited to dinner. He gets to sit next to the girl that scarred his back, the brother that tried to literally bury him, and the Marquis who slaughtered his family before his eyes. How he even managed to stay in the room is a feat in itself. I do not know how he is going to react being the son’s advisor. He will shift it to his advantage but I am still curious how this pairing will play out. Is the Marquis trying to limit Zang Hai? Or have his son improve his choices? That remains to be seen. Seeing his mentor at the book store was fun. These meetings lighten up a whole lot of intense storytelling. The meal at the tower was funny. When the gal finally says he knows….😂 he is helping the second son and himself getting the treasury items back but I bet he doesn’t find out about that special jewel anytime soon.😝 These two could really help each other out and he has already proven himself to be far more honorable than any of the royals….so now to see where this new partnership leads.

All i can say this is by far Xiao Zhan's…

All i can say this is by far Xiao Zhan's best performance . Best drama of the year. The drama focuses on Zang Hai's ( Xiao Zhan’s charater) revenge journey altho this is not a love story but the element of romance was super interesting and cute. The chemistry between ML and FL was super strong. The drama was also fast pace but the plot was easy to follow but will keep you guessing.Just a bit of advise don't watch episode 7 in public or while you're eating. Also prepare lots of tissues

Xiao Zhan llorando excelente

sus habilidades de actuación son impresionantes, su llanto, su rostro de sufrimiento, es como el viento sale de un momento de vida y muerte y entra a otro, navegando por cuchillos, pero siempre con coraje

Five Stars

Remind me so much of Sherlock Holmes. How he planned the escape with his master. Zang Hai is such a brilliant guy who knows how to survive from his enemies trap. They are planning to get rid of him on every episode. He turns it around and kill his enemies one by one. One down 4 more to go.

Into the snake's den!

Episode 8 throws Zang Hai into a whirlwind of political chaos and moral dilemmas, proving once again that brains beat brawn in this revenge saga. Fresh off surviving the deadly mausoleum trap, Zang Hai now faces Marquis Pingjin’s growing suspicion while navigating the viper’s nest of the Marquis’s inner circle. The tension here is palpable, every glance and half-smile feels like a loaded weapon.
The episode kicks off with Zang Hai leveraging his newfound status to expose corruption in the Imperial Astronomical Bureau, using his geomancy expertise to outmaneuver Chu Huaiming’s lackeys. But the real fireworks start when he’s tasked with interpreting omens for the Emperor. His coldly calculated prediction of a “divine storm” to dismantle the Marquis’s power base is both genius and risky, especially when he ties it to the Empress Dowager’s restless spirit. Xiao Zhan’s delivery here is mesmerizing.
Meanwhile, the dynamic between Zang Hai and Xiang Antu starts to heat up. Their battle of wits at Zhen Tower where she tests his loyalty, adds layers to their relationship. The chemistry is electric, even without overt romance. When she subtly warns him about Zhuang Zhixing’s schemes, you can almost see the gears turning in Zang Hai’s head: trust no one!
The episode’s standout moment, a flashback revealing Zang Hai’s first encounter with his masked mentor, who drills into him: “Revenge is a dish best served with patience". The parallels between his past training and present strategizing are chef’s-kiss writing.
The episode ends in another cliffhanger. Chills. Can't have enough of this drama!
