Tonbi Episode 8

Healing Lies

First, I have to say this was an astounding episode. Both Yasu and Akira (father and son) experience bitterness from the past and how it relates to the present and future. Yasu reunites with a 50 year estranged father and a 20 year lie is revealed to Akira in regard to his mother's death.

There is so much emotion and passion in this episode that I have co to love this drama even more (if that's possible). Onnce again, Masaaki Uchino gives ob hell of a performance, there is no way you cannot connect with his character. His outlook on life takes the complicated and makes it simple. I envy his direct approach to everything, but I would never label him a simpleton (in which he refers to himself). Despite their differences, Akira possesses his father's compassion and is able to come to terms with recent revelations.

This one is a tear-jerker, so have the box of tissues ready.
