A bit overhyped but expectant for Season 2

I loved the beginning and the ending, but the in between felt a bit dragging and it was like we were going in circles with what was happening. It's a fun show to watch with friends and family, if everyone's into zombies and gore, but in terms of writing, I think they could've done a better job with the pacing or they could've just shortened it to like 5-8 episodes or just opted for a movie.

I appreciate the morals of it as well as giving the creator of the virus an actual motivation that makes you think about things in a different perspective. It's an okay show but I somewhat think it was overhyped.

The leading characters were also a bit confusing to me. Were they trying to go for something like FRIENDS wherein everyone was the leading character? Because if they were, I think they somewhat failed because Nam-ra and Su-hyeok had more main character energy and presence than anyone else in the cast (no offense though).

But despite all this, I'm definitely sticking around for a Season 2.

Just finished watching this series and wow.
I love Korean products that talk about zombies, this amazed me, it was a mix of emotions. I laughed, cried, screamed, felt sorry for the characters, got upset about some adult choices, and empathized totally with them.
I find it a fantastic product, the relationships between people and the reactions they have really amazed me.
I hope a sequel comes out, I want to see them again.

THRILLING!

“It’s train to Busan.” “Zombies should be in movies, not in our school.” “Humanity has never defeated a virus” . These lines describe how relatable the series is, as if you yourself as a student suddenly landed in a zombie apocalypse.

So many things to think back about with this mind blowing series. And with so many amazingly unique zombie series that came out recently, this zombie series wasn’t the best I’ve ever watched. (With Kingdom being the only one to top this and make me tremble.) Koreans are very good at story telling, and I’ve noticed this especially in recent zombie- series. But it was 10 times better than what I had initially expected. The story line, cast, plot, teamwork just showed to be great. Classic zombie plot with surprisingly intriguing differences from a usual zombie story. Bloody zombie scenes with a fine mixture of everyday high school relationships. Great character development. Risk taking and lots of very painful moments. And it’s nice to see that this drama did not sell itself out into the world through explicit sexual scenes and good looking stars, but instead kept it (despite the zombies) real and relatable for the viewers, with normal looking actors and sensible writing for the characters. It makes it all about the emotions and good quality of acting

1. Great story: It was turbulent in all ways possible. The plot of the series was going in all kinds of directions and somehow it meshed well together. It had so many twists and turns, and cliffhangers. My honest opinion (as a zombie binge watcher) is that this show was so complex. So many different and difficult topics were handled with so many surprises. The different ideas and concepts of the zombies and how it’s filmed, makes you feel like you are part of the show. The zombies are really terrifying. It seemed a very well thought out story, while there were many moments where you were left guessing where it would go next, and a lot left open for a second season. But that makes it all the more sustainable to continue. This show has a really deep meaning in the sense that it’s more than just zombie killing and action scenes. This show teaches that we fear monsters because they remind us of ourselves. “The worst monsters are the ones we create.” It reveals the arrogance of mankind and the horrifying but inevitable consequences of the actions taken in the story, an avalanche of build up events that ultimately was unstoppable. And the ignorance paired with that gave us a deep insight into the dark but all too real nature of this zombie series. If you enjoy zombie series, don’t miss out on this. It’s definitely worth your time watching it, and it does not contain overly long and dragged on episodes, so you won’t turn into a zombie yourself when you binge-watch it. 👍

2. Well written characters: I felt realistically embedded with all of the characters in this. The characters had you rooting for them and against them! When the series ended I actually missed seeing them. Once you start watching it’s almost impossible to stop, you’re so drawn in with their amazing acting and invested in their story. I wished there would be another season soon with some of my favorite characters coming back to the screen. The actor for Cheongsan’s character truly deserves an award for the next level acting. His character was (despite all his flaws), the most fitted for leadership, with taking the necessary risks and jumping front forward onto the steering weel. Very impressed with this particular character! The entire cast was incredibly good at portraying emotions. Almost all characters are relatable and likeable, and absorbing. The villains are grippingly scary. And what I liked the most is how they showed the “human” aspect of every situation. You feel connected with every single one of them.
3. Awesome locations: the places seemed very realistic and fitting for the situations at hand. It started with one place and moved from there to broader grounds. It wasn’t just the school but other places that were eventually involved in this mess too.
4. Total terror, blood and gore!!! I personally am not a fan of very gross and bloody scenes. The details of the “zombie activity” shown were way too much for my taste. However, this series is not just about the zombie scenes, and contains much more areas to uncover.

A Gripping and Heart-Pounding Zombie Drama

"All of Us Are Dead" is a masterful K-drama that captivates from the first episode to the last. Set in a high school overrun by a zombie apocalypse, this series weaves a story of survival, friendship, and bravery. The young cast delivers stellar performances, and the special effects and makeup are remarkably realistic, adding to the suspense and horror.

Each episode balances intense action scenes with moments of emotional depth and character development. The storyline is unpredictable, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats with unexpected twists and turns. "All of Us Are Dead" is a must-watch for fans of zombie dramas and anyone who appreciates a well-told story with rich character dynamics.

it is a must watch series

honestly this is by far the best zombie series I've watched
the acting from each artists is amazing, you really start feeling for each character right from the beginning
there is a lot blood so you have to watch it if your okay with watching it. It does highlight like how in some of the schools their are still students who are bullied and the extreme pain they go through. there are a lot of stories taking place simultaneously you really get everyone's character arc. this also show the cruel reality of being a teenager where your neither a child nor an adult. The value of having friends and just to be happy. honestly for me zombies are more worst than ghost because there is no cure other than killing and they are your own loved once.
In the end there is always hope don't lose humanity...

Brutal

This series is brutal, it's not shy on letting the characters experience losing friends and family right in front of their own eyes in the most gruesome manners. Yes, I think there are stupid things that happened, but the story was gripping, and heart wrenching. Score and the zombie makeup were nicely done too.

I think the series concluded nicely, but I'd love to see what they'll bring in season 2 if there's one. Definitely a great watch if you're into zombie flicks and don't mind a highschool drama.

Outbreak at Hyosan High

ALL OF US ARE DEAD was a great and intense S. Korean zombie series. While it definitely held true to the gory nature of the zombie genre, it was also laced with a lot of unique characters and backgrounds. I was initially worried that the larger cast might make it less relatable or moving (ie when someone dies and you never got to know the character or their motives, therefore there feels less connection and empathy with the audience) but thankfully, you do really start to get an idea of everyone before things go down and during as well. It's actually the opposite case when you actually care a lot for many of them and then they start to die and it really yanks at the heartstrings.

The director / writers really did a great job at portraying the vast array of different characters and personalities and you really start rooting for some right off the bat. Many of them have their own struggles in their personal lives and the series gives you glimpses into their lives and the drama going on all the while amping up the tension and stakes as the zombie plot escalates around them.

There are some difficult and dark subject matter in this as well, aside from the violence, gore and zombie cannibalism, (such as bullying, humiliation, sexual harassment, cruelty, teen pregnancy, suicide, assault, adult language etc.) This series is pretty mature and graphic in nature and not for younger viewers. And yes, being a zombie show there's lots of violence, blood, gore, biting, eating people, self defense etc.

Overall, this was a great adrenaline fueled watch and sadly not an hopeful one at that, as many characters do die, but what do you expect from a zombie apocalypse? Not sure if there can be another season, but hopefully. Really enjoyed this one.

NOTE: It says Season 2 coming!

greatly shot tvseries that loses from having weak narrative and obsession over social messaging

Generally watchable zombie flick which promised much more than it delivered. It's shot well, and the first eps are full of great scenes, claustrophobic and anxiety-inducing, action-focused and dread-inducing. It loses its great foot, focusing on the unnecessary preaching of social problems, a weak and annoyingly poorly written villain, and an underwhelming third act. The actors were believable, and the characters were likeable, making you root for them. It's a shame that the director treated them mostly as symbols rather than as high school characters just trying to survive in a world that left them behind.

enjoyable watch, could have been better though

i think that as a whole this drama was good, yes there were plotholes here and there, yes some of the characters didnt get any good character development and their role seemed pointless, but despite this i still wanted to watch till the end and i really did like (most) of the cast !

i think that there were areas that could have been explored more eg the archery team members i forgot their names… and i think that onjo’s dad’s plot was poorly written.. the ending also was kinda disappointing but maybe there will be a season 2? idk..

bearing in mind how young a lot of the cast were, especially as it was filmed in 2020 (i think) , i think they all did really well !!

Disappointing

I think a lot of the good talent in this series was underused. The writing was sloppy and superficial in trying to pull the heartstrings of the viewer. They spend much time on less important characters than focusing on the leads. The storyline is everywhere, following lesser characters instead of fleshing out the leads and giving the viewers time to get to know and care for the main leads. People disappear and reappear making the storyline choppy and frustrating. In 12 episodes this series could have been wrapped up tightly and neatly. Instead we got a lot of jerk kids whom we barely knew and didn't much care about.

The main thread of this show is the consequences of bullying. Everything that happens subsequently is the result of the students' bullying of one another. That bullying leads to revenge, which leads to disaster. It was a depressing show with little lighter moments. The stars here really are the zombies. The most frustrating part of this show is the lack of continuity. Storylines begin and then are abandoned to give other characters more air time. Those abandoned characters aren't heard from for several episodes before they come back only to disappear for longer stretches again. It was entertaining, but not well written or gripping as Train to Busan. For all the comparison that the show itself makes to the movie, this is NO Train to Busan. This series is gorier, slower, and not as well written. It leaves you feeling run down, disappointed, and sad in the end.

some of us are dead

i wanted to say, that i liked the more slow paced story at the start. it introduced us to so many different characters and plotlines. some of them were even likeable. however... it got repeating. i liked how they werent scared to kill of characters (like i-sak) even tho they were really close to MC, but when you keep killing characters, it just gets repetitive . some of the deaths were actually super unnecessary (looks at on jo's dad). this had such potential. but i think the main problem was so many plotlines AND SO MANY plotholes.
i also think this wouldve been so much better as a choice-based game, like detroit become human.

RELEASE SEASON TWO ALREADY

I absolutely love this show! Have rewatched it quite a few times and can't wait for season 2! The characters are all great whether you love them or hate them! I love seeing all the relationships between the characters. I loved seeing how the kids were going to solve different issues they were facing while trying to get away. So creative!

The actors all do an amazing job! Especially the zombies, so creepy how they move!! My favorite zombie series out there!
