one of my favorite tropes in an ensemble cast series is when a spot+lgiht character's episode focuses on his beloved ones' actions out of love for the character. we finally get back to souji & this is an episode that honors how ian & amy & now our new team+mate utchi care for him. we have already seen how ian & amy care for him so we start off with utchi whoi spars with him to nuirture him. utchi also works perfectly in this plot because of how awkward he is around women & fights for the right of love. this set+up[ of them having trained more than we have seen also allows for a very good pay+off where souji is worthy of performing the final finale on the debo monster. i think rin is nice. because we really know nothing much about her or why she loves him she's not really much of character. it can be interesting to see her develope herself in future appearances. i also like that she is jealous of ami because she thinks they could be a couple. she doesn't hate ami for being another woman in souji's vicinity nor will she turn on her friend when souji gives her the same gift. & correctly so she directs her hurt at souji because he's the one hurting her. i like that ami is ridiculously unaware at times. i hope her next episode is something really great. it is annoying to see how she is written as the girl who does girl things & needs to be paired with the woman or the child deboth while thje men can handle the real villains.
