Making wishes

This episode has FuGui and QingTong resting in an unknown village. Their care for each other is quite sweet.🥰 Even the fox messenger is amused at the lack of feeling Quan JingTing displays at his misdeeds. The uncle thinks he is just getting what entitled to and no reason for guilt. HongYe missing his son and wishing him safe doesn’t move me since he is the same parent that whipped him, left him hanging literally for days in the elements, and demanded FuGui kill a woman he loved with an audience. He is so much more like his father than I expected him to be. The evil ones are starting to register on QingTong’s warning webs. She again opts to not say anything.😝 After Peach Village I was hoping not another setup when big bowls of wine passed around. Who knew how much FuGui really takes after his mom. So little time to get divine fire. He is a great legacy for HuaiZhu. He even has her gift of drinking without getting drunk. 😂 All the wishes over glutinous rice balls and lanterns. This has been a nice respite but the fox messenger at the end makes it clear this is the calm before the storm. The actress playing QingTong has such a sweet childlike smile. She is adept at presenting childlike joy that makes us smile along with Fu Gui at her. These two show such sweet affection for each other. It does not seem forced and they work well together. The entire cast did an outstanding job of portraying their characters and making that world come alive. Production is doing well with the fantastical portions. The man to hate this series is Quan JingTing. 😝He does an outstanding job of making you loathe him on sight. I was not expecting HongYe to reside so high on the hate list. He is actually second in line for me. The more I try to sympathize with his character, the more inclined he is to do something tunnel visioned that pisses me off. To have such strong feelings good and bad, this cast rises to the next tier as a whole with no weak link acting to pull you out of the story. I am in the minority that enjoyed both prior installments equally and sequentially rather than order of release. This last installment takes it up a level and continues the story masterfully. 👏🏻

Sweet too sweet

This episode was the sweetest. When he woke up calling Qingtong I am like melting. He never says I love you but his actions speak louder than words. Sweetest love ever
