So happy I stuck with it!

This series' theme is one of my favorite: Time Travel, so I was very excited to start watching. It was soon clear that not all time travel is created equal, however and the slow pace turned me off. It took me ages to watch the first 3 episodes and I left the series in my CW list for a longgggg time after that, reluctant to get back into it while it was still airing. I found the adult SuanSoon a cry baby with toxic behavior, and the slow pace bored me. I got back to it though after a few months after it finished airing and BOYYY AM I GLAD I DID.

The pace does not pick up speed, but the slow telling of the story appears to actually have purpose. It is to help us keep our sanity wit so much back and forth. We need breathing and thinking room to understand what is going on. theres still enough crying to fill an ocean, but the way the actors portray and express the characters and emotions is fabulous. I don't really get why SuanSoon goes back as an adult, and SongSa as a highschooler (although I have my theories), but we can feel how much they love each other right to their souls.

The soundtrack by the wonderful Boy Sompob does it's job and we get a huge tearjerker with a beautiful happy ending.

Honestly I do understand some of the critical reviews, but if you stick with it and go with the flow (of tears), you'll love it. Or maybe, it's just me who was in a fragile state while watching. Whatever, it will go on my re-watch list for sure!

"Good movie eh?"

Take a break from the copy paste story of most Thai BLs and make a gift to yourself by watching this original story.
No evil ex, no boring unsolved misunderstandings, no cliché, pure story and character evolution.
Extremely underrated good drama with smart script and really good acting. Slow pace yes but not always unnecessary.
I am very impressed by the gradual character building, the completeness of the story and the keen attention to detail.
Nothing is missing, nothing is left to chance, everything is on point.
The actors are asked to play the same story from a different time point of view and from a different age maturity and they do it EXCELLENTLY.
They say it's not for everyone, I say it's for you who are reading this and appreciating the above qualities in a drama.
PS. Some writing choices seem vague, if you isolate them, but feats to the concept of the story and the characters.

Beautiful story, lots of tisseus needed!

What a beautifull story, i cried so many times...

It's a complicated script with the time traveling of both leads. Timelines of the future and past flowing into each other.
You also need to be someone who hads a lot of empathy to feel this drama in my opinion. Because then you can understand the feelings of the future lead towards his loved one in the past.

Tong and Teng did a great job in acting, their chemistry was amazing.
I didn't feel the chemistry that much with Tor and Mix, but that didn't bother me so much.

I will probably watch this drama once again in the future.

When time traveling gets a whole lot weirder…..

This BL did exactly what I feared when I saw the direction the plot was heading. Having the main character go back in time to prevent his lover from ever meeting each other because of a car accident is a tad dramatic if you ask me; could have just gone back to prevent the accident itself if time traveling turns out to be possible.

Now that hes back in time he meets his lover at the age they first met which happens to be in high school, okay……weird choice of time, but sure. Why is no adults around that kid finding it weird a man in his late 20s keeps hanging around him? I would be concerned if I was an adult in that kid’s life. And then they start hinting at some weird tension between them, and thats when I’m starting to get nervous. And it gets worse because the kid is now confessing and showcasing he has a crush on the MC. Not to mention the scene when he touched the kid while he was asleep (not sexually, but still weird). And then it happens they kiss, not once, but twice. I had to stop it after that. The first time I could excuse it because the MC was genuinely caught off guard and he had a moment to stop this from furthering, but after the second kiss and he was into it as well I was had to stop it there. Nope. Absolutely nope.

I’m not here to watch that type of stuff. Very disappointed from Wabi Sabi to even pull this BS and expect us to gladly take it.

Mixed feelings

This is an absolutely brilliant 10/10 story! But the one thing that bothered me about the show, bothered me a lot. I'm glad I stuck with it though, because the story is profound. In addition to the right-person/wrong-time element, which was deep in and of itself, it got me thinking about the extra layers. Like: if you knew you could have something unbelievably wonderful for a while, but it would end in devastating heartbreak and terrible pain, would you still pursue it or give it up entirely? In reality, this question is often minimized, but the drama takes it seriously and explores how painful and terrifying such a choice would actually be. It also explores how your final decision might change as you get older.

As well as the profound story, there's plenty more to love. The music is great. The production is great. The setting is awesome. The entire cast is super talented. And the actual age and age-gap of the characters is reasonable.

So... why the mixed feelings?

Because Old-Soon looks way too old, and Young-Ongsa's age is not clarified early enough. Why is this a problem? Well, visually, we have a middle-aged man flirting with a high-schooler.

BUT WAIT!! Didn't I just say I had no problem with the characters' actual ages and age-gap? Yes, that's true. The characters are actually 18 and 28, so they are both adults and only ten years apart. I have no complaints about that. HOWEVER! No amount of telling myself Old-Soon is only 28 could make me believe him younger than 40. And Young-Ongsa looks 15, and we don't learn otherwise until ep10. As I've said, the actors are amazingly talented! I really can't stress that enough. But dramas are a visual media, and when pairing a high-schooler and older man, it's nice to be considerate of the audience and not make it look like a 40-year-old is sharing a bed with a 15-year-old. Personally, I think they needed to state Young-Ongsa age earlier, and recast Old-Soon to look the character's actual age.

Again, I stuck with the drama because there is so much to love, and I'm glad I did. And even the bits that bothered me may not both others, so I recommend anyone interested in the premise give it a go and decide for yourself.

NOT FOR ME

I usually love time travel stories, so I had pretty high expectations for this one — especially since everyone seemed to be saying good things about it. The first episode started off well and really caught my interest. But the moment old Suansoon appeared in episode 2 and touched young Ongsa while he was sleeping, it honestly made me uncomfortable. It just felt weird and kind of creepy, and that’s where it lost me. I had to drop it after that.

Also, I don’t get why old Suansoon suddenly time-traveled back to 2008 when his boyfriend was still alive and in the hospital? That part didn’t make any sense to me. It is poorly explained.

Overall, I’m disappointed. This had so much potential, but it just didn’t sit right with me.

One of my favorite Time traveling BLs so far

Ok so...
I have pretty much spent this year watching BL's and at last count I have watched roughly 50/60 different series. I know we are only on Episode 10 and still have 2 to go but unless something drastically horrible happens in the last two episodes I don't think it will change my mind about this series.

When you compare this to the many other time travel/parallel universe BL's I think for me it is by far in my top 3. my all time favourite being "until we meet again". I think when watching these kinds of BL's you kind have have to ignore the plot holes otherwise you start to question the entire series. For me this has so far been very interesting to watch and the Acting and chemistry between the Characters is amazing. Especially the younger versions of the leads. Shout out to Tor-Supakorn who in my opinion is the stand out actor in this series.

I get what people are saying about the slow pacing to begin with, especially in the first 2/3 episodes, but for me that was part of the charm of this series. Honestly I am not afraid to say that in episodes 9/10 I was literally a full grown man balling his eyes out at the tv screen. Personally if a series can make you feel real emotions then the writers and actors have done their job to be honest. Anyway I am really looking forward to the final 2 episodes and I am hoping I wont have to come back and downgrade my original scores.

Happy Viewing Everyone

Heart warming

Loved this series, but episode 12 kind of leaves you hanging for more. Will there be a season 2? I sure hope so. Talk about true love… WOW when you truly love someone there isn’t anything you wouldn’t do for that person. You will go the extra mile and do whatever it takes to be with the one you love the most……….

Great concept - Binged it - Rewatch? Yes.,..but,

Spoilers - but, maybe it will help you follow and figure it out.

Binged this because there was enough detail to make this an interesting and compelling series. But, with the choices made by the writers/director - it created issues that will have you reaching for the fast forward button - often.

With any time travel story - you will have issues. People still argue the existence of the pocket watch in Somewhere In Time (a movie you see on the shelf at the DVD store in this series). Where did the watch come from - originally - if the person from the past gets it from the person from the future but, the person from the future got it from the person from the past - in the present? See what I mean?

We see the DVD store owner becomes integral to the story. He initiates the contact and allows it to unfold - each time (three times). He is always there for guidance - a wonderful mentor/guide. He even makes a decision when the characters finally get it right.

Here's the issue...because we have been fed so much information, when the story moves through the second phase - we already know the outcome - there are almost entire episodes that are a waste of your time. Does it really matter that we get to see their relationship develop when we know the outcome? And, while I understand a time traveler choosing a moment - why wait until a week before the event to make an appearance? Love and sacrifice are already established and understood.

I would have preferred to see where Ongsa went before Suansoon rejoins the present than to see the relationship develop - in detail - the second time (a given that could have been handled with references and a few flashbacks). Create a story where we want to follow what everyone is doing. Not waiting while they have their five minute stares at each other while the soundtrack plays.

Spend less time in phase two and expand phase three/the end. I loved how every character realized that they went through this before but, couldn't quite put their finger on it. Let's see more of that.

I really liked this series for going so deeply into a thought/story that others have not gone before. Would love to see this done by the Koreans with their larger budgets and stronger writers.

I am so enjoying this series - and have been able to keep up from the accidental time travel back for Soon (the meteor shower before the tunnel) to who is who thus far. I don't think that Soon intentionally traveled back but that it happened and that he found himself 10 years earlier in time. The acting is so amazing that you can see and FEEL the love between the 2 leads both younger and older. The age gap didn't bother me - I know so many couples gay and straight with large age gaps. But there feelings and emotions say it all. One can tell that they belong together. And that's all that matters.
I am looking forward to continuing watching this even though I am crying during every episode. I have been good thus far and not looked at any spoilers but if there is one thing we all know - it's that destiny (or fate) will not be denied. I am sure it will end as it is supposed to and with a lot more tears to come.
On an aside, think a minute about yourself accidentally going back in time - would you change anything???
