Not Over Hyped nor over rated!!!!!! I Loved it.

I watched Vincenzo when It was airing and it was so exciting. Each weekend I got my laptop and my speakers to watch and have a blast. The episodes were a roller coaster of emotions, you could be laughing, then shed a few tears, then get angry, cringe and even feel disappointed. This drama just had me in my feeling. through the week I would watch back my favourite scenes or even rewatch an episode.
All the actors were great in their respective roles.
Acting
1. Vincenzo (Song Joong-ki) had so many different sides to him and his eyes would especially bring out these different sides of him. He could be scary mafia dude, but cute and romantic hubby, he could be silly. His face just always showed what mood or character he was portraying.

2. Hoong Cha-young (Jeon Yeo-been) executed her role just how she was supposed to be. A shameless lawyer who would do anything to win. She made me laugh , cringe and sad throughout the show.

3. Jang Jun Woo (Ok Taecyeon) the first half of the show he nailed his innocent clueless intern role to a T. But then he was the vilian and also that spoiled rich little boy who liked to smash and destroyed what he could not have or control.

4. Choi Myung-hee (Kim YTeo-jin) I hated her so much each episode I was just wishing she would be killed how cruel she was and how she could just order people to be killed just like that then sit to eat or dance. Because of this I think she did a fantastic job.
The Tenants - they were so selfish at times, but then each one of them ended up showing how useful they were and that they were worth fighting for in their own little way. I especially liked Tak Hong-shik, Mr. Nam and Seo Mi Ri out of all the tenants. Mr Tak, because when he stated to fight with his scissors; Mr. Nam for his awkward, adorable and usefulness and Miss Seo because she was just this weird piano player but then bam Top Hacker extraordinaire.

This show had a little bit of everything, comedy, action, angst, subtle romance. It dealt with trust, family, loyalty, fairness in the society and the legal system, cooperation and so much more.
Give the drama a try you either love it or hate it. You might think it's average and that just fine.

All dramas are not made equal and everyone does not need to like everything.

The Great Gatsby meets Mafia

The thing I liked most about this drama was the complicated characters. The demarcation between the good guys and the bad guys was blurry, and you find yourself questioning why you're rooting for who you're rooting for. As the drama goes on, you get to see the characters develop and question their choices and grapple with the past and future. This drama reminds me of The Great Gatsby because of the complex and muddy characters, but Vincenzo takes this theme to the next level with Mafia tactics and high stakes.
If you are someone who only enjoys lighthearted dramas with straightforward themes (and there's nothing wrong with that), then this one might not be for you. But if you're someone who likes to think a lot while you watch your dramas, then you might like this one.

Not bad but not good. ?

I actually didn't find anything special about this drama. many recommended me to watch this as it is like a very interesting drama. it is indeed quite funny but there are a lot of stupid scenes. I saw someone's review about some of those scenes and I totally agree with that. but as a person with an imaginative and fictional mind, I would probably say I won't mind those scenes. one thing in my opinion was there was no need of jang han-seo's death. probably it was fine if Hong cha young and jang han seo was just getting hurt. I hate sad endings but it did give the drama a plot twist. there were a lot of funny scenes like where vincenzo had to pretend to be in love with hwang min sung. I laughed a lot at those scenes but I think if a little more effort was put, I would have given a least of 8.5.

NEVER LOOK AT RATINGS OR BAD COMMENTS BEFORE WATCHING ANYTHING

Another reason why you shouldn't look at ratings before watching any drama, this was my first time seeing all the casts in this drama except for the ceo of wusang firm. The only complain I have about this drama is how they made the villain to be a man instead of a woman because let's be honest, miss lawyer Choi rocks, she was the villain in it not Hanseok. She was the mastermind behind everything, Hanseok didn't lift a finger and even I got to say he literally did nothing. I super love this drama, I like how Vincenzo didn't change who he was, he was truly a mafia through and through, he didn't backed down from anything and he always made true his threats. This drama was all about Vincenzo anyway. Also I didn't like the female lead acting much, it was too overacting and too exaggerated. Sad to see it finish, might rewatch another time. I already miss my Mr consigliere and my corn salad family.

a bit biased reviews

first of all, i am a fan of Song Joong Ki and when i watch this drama i feel a little anxious about the outcome because i’m expecting it to be loved. I don’t underestimate the quality they will give viewers, but more to i was worried i’m expecting it too high. I follow the drama on-going and i worried if there many bad reviews but then it turns Vincenzo got it on the top list. so many low rating i’ve read but overall this one have 9 point in here is good enough. Ofcourse i feel so happy but storywise, some scene is a bit exaggerated. the romance they try to put also feels a bit vague though i still can accept it. well, it is like both male and female lead is great at chemistry but there still obvious space to reach the “click” point for main lead. Overall, this drama is fine and fun to watch. behind the story videos amazing too.

few illogical scenes

4 illogical scenes in this movie
1.Vincenzo would have saved his mother if he had placed more guards and the feeling of invincibility would not have clouded Vincenzo’s mind
2. Jong Seok's brother, Han So, could have knocked the gun out of his brother's hands with a hockey stick or hit him on the back with a hockey stick rather than stand and watch while he spoke. Then it would all end without drama..
3. The same younger brother could have prevented the shot at lawyer Hong and saved himself by hitting his brother with a bandy
4. Well, since Han So had already snatched the gun, he should have pointed it not at himself, but at his brother Jong Seok, or simply thrown it to Vincezo..
Then the amazing series would have turned out to be truly amazing, but these illogical blunders only complicated everything .. an ill-conceived raft .. although you can attribute everything to the screenwriter’s idea of “drama and the fact that “invincible heroes also make mistakes”, but this looks illogical and unnecessary .. could I wish I could end these scenes beautifully

Less serious than expected

Started watching this maybe around a couple of months ago due to all the rave reviews, watched episode 1 and it didn't catch my interest so I dropped it. I decided to give it one more try, and I'm glad I did.

Highly unrealistic plot, but somehow still manages to be very entertaining. Almost perfect mix of comedy and seriousness, and the acting and cast was top notch. The villain storyline definitely dragged on a bit near the second half of the show, but nothing unwatchable and I felt the everything was wrapped up nicely in the end.

And while I loved all the cast (even the villains), I'm going to be honest, Vincenzo/Song Joong Ki absolutely carried the show for me. The character of Cha Young I felt like they could have done more with... I really wanted her to show off her skills (I mean, she's supposed to be a great lawyer!) but I didn't see much of that at all. In fact, the court scenes were almost non-existent lol. Also, the romantic storyline between Vincenzo and CY... I don't know how popular this opinion is but I definitely did not feel any romantic chemistry between the both of them. I loved their friendship, though! Seeing the two of them kick ass together was A++.

Overall, great production, cinematography, OST, cast, etc etc.

Rico Suave

Vincenzo took much longer to finish than I anticipated. Despite its good overall quality, there could have been three fewer episodes in the series. I find that unfortunate, because I usually prefer series with more episodes if I'm really into them. It's a mixture of action and crime drama. Comic relief is a nice touch in many characters and scenes. It is the middle part of the story that bothers me about Vincenzo.
The story gets to the heart, but it drags a bit. Through and through, Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong-ki) is a smooth dude. There are times, however, when the plot armor hurts the theme. I like heros or anti-heroes who are a bit more vulnerable and who overcome their weaknesses. Because the final acts make up for portions of the midrange episodes, the series has been upgraded to 8 stars. Overall, it's a good look.

I thought the first half was uneven and could be substantially cut, making a 16 ep series. I thought the second half was as good as any Korean series. I stayed with it because of the fabulous cast—terrific on all levels—and was rewarded. The ending was satisfying even if graphic, but hey, don’t mess with a mobster’s mom, you twits. I loved the sweet pigeon bromance and pigeon onslaught, and the masterful reverse image of the raven. That was revoltingly satisfying as well. And yes there is even romance and a great kiss, too. All in all, Vincenzo is worth the time spent.

Very entertaining yet frustrating at some points

Watching this for the first time was such an entertaining experience! I loved most characters and I felt that the balance between comedy/ heartwarming scenes and action/crime scenes was nicely done but at the same time it felt like there was no cohesiveness?
Our characters would jumb on a new quest each episode to dig more dirt on the villains or overcome the next obstacle the latter throw in their way but it never feels like it's all part of a bigger plan( apart from the episodes leading to the first court) , so in the end when all they 'bad guys' get killed by vincenzo it feels kind of unearned. It feels like more like an act of revenge ( due to the recent loss of his mother and other innocent characters) than the result of all this time's work COMBINED with the revenge both vincenzo and chayoung wish for.
In my opinion they should have made the characters have a clear plan from the start which, in the end, would lead to the villains finally getting arrested and losing everything which I believe would be a much more satisfying ending.
Despite that, I still rated the show highly because it has a special place in my heart and If I ignore the ending I can still enjoy it for what it is

A legend returns from Uruk in this thrilling tale of corporate greed and the entire justice system in Korea being corrupt or something.

The story is a bit quirky. having serious scenes where someone is gruesomely murdered and then the next scene Vincenzo walking into a chair. Or characters doing things very out of character for some slapstick humour. The acting itself is good. Its just over the top to fit in with the humour they were going for.

The music was fairly nice and built tension in scenes well. The ost for the villain was pretty noticeable.

Rewatching the show for me may be abit tilting since theres many moments where Vincenzo is an omnipotent god and can handle like 20 armed men. But then for some reason, he cant handle one guy with a gun when it matters the most. His ability is put up to such a high standard throughout the show and we see him do some insane shit. But when the plot requires it, he kinda just afks, allowing the antagonists to just kill people. Its pretty inconsistent. Some of the characters are also very annoying, like nearly the entire plaza cast is insufferable, especially at the beginning. They get better but would be annoying to have to watch them again.

Overall its a fairly nice show, good production value, entertaining and fun to watch. It does suffer from being a bit dragged out though. Bonus points for including
"He was my everything"

A Power-packed Drama which may not please everyone but personally loved it as a whole!!

At first I must say that this drama is not everyone's cup of tea. This is my first review as I saw many reviews bashing it and that could be misleading, at least for someone like me who could love everything about this.

From my POV, it is neither overrated nor underrated. The actors did their part perfectly. Song joong ki and Taecyeon is not just about looks as we all know. Jeon yeo been may seem extra for some but I loved her her character, beautiful, bold and "careless" about other's backbiting which I appreciate a lot. The plaza people were annoying at times, but I loved them a lot in the last episodes. Kim yeo Jin who played the role of prosecutor Choi has made me hate her a lot because of her acting which was unbelievably perfect. Kwak dong Yeon who played Han Seo became everyone's sweetheart at last.

Vincenzo's Italian was so accurate and I really liked it. It has a lot of slow motions which some people may not like, but I did like it. The story is quite new to me as I haven't watched any dramas like this before. A mafia fighting for justice despite the bloody laws in the world was quite new. But the story was predictable at times. Every episode ends with a cliffhanger and I watched it in a one go. I still regret being not able to watch it as ongoing because of my exams. The thrill could have been of another level for the ones who watched it ongoing. I am so jealous of them.

Many may not like the drama cause even if they are lawyers, Vincenzo's character is a mafia, an antihero who does not abide the law in many ways. But it was convincing compared to the current law system which depend on the conglomerates. This story is about a man who was an evil punishing another Evil and yeah, some people can't take the fact. We could see "logic-less " scenes which are common in kdramas. This drama is of course not for people who love romance genre as it includes very less romantic cliche`s and skin ships. It could be viewed as a thrilling, yet comedy at many levels. TBH, I laughed with excitement while watching this rather than the comedies. Many scenes were hilarious while others didn't make me laugh at all. The Corn Salad and Vincenzo fan club was quite funny for me. I really loved the Cassano Family who played a great part in comedies.

Finally, I should say that the villains were really amazing. Their acting has made me even hate them for real. Taecyeon and the prosecutor Choi did their role perfectly. I was amazed by their character transformation. The final episodes was exciting, heartbreaking, and really thrilling.
An unsatisfactory drama won't achieve the excellent kdrama award and a 2 digit rating in Korea, right?

To Summarise, I really really really liked it. Recommend it for everyone who like thrilling dark comedy series.
