dragged for too long.
liked the idea (ik the story is from a webtoon) demon hunting, counters with unique powers according to their personalities. it started off well and was heading to a good buildup of events but then it went downhill around ep 9. tbvh the entire show could've been winded up by 8-10 eps. a lot of eps in the middle felt like fillers and i felt like i was watching the same thing again and again. the entire setup felt like smtn new at the beginning but towards the middle it felt like i was watching just another weak PPL fighting rich powerful corrupt PPL and getting pushed till the last ep like a Tom & Jerry ep. had great potential but not pushed towards the right direction. Was this review helpful to you?
I have already watched this twice!
It has been a while since I have enjoyed a "k-dramedy" as much as this one. It never stopped keeping me entertained. I have already watched it twice! It's one of those dramas that when you watch it a second/third time, you notice things you may have missed. All the characters were performed very well, from the main character, his best friends, to his Grandparents, the to Uncanny crew. My favorite episodes were 3/4, those are the ones I have re-watched repeatedly. The last episode was a tearjerker but in a good way. I cannot wait for part 2!Was this review helpful to you?
Amazing show!
I just finished watching this on netflix and loved it!I can't wait for season 2 which is supposed to start around September 2021.
The cast did an amazing job. This is my fist time seeing Jo Byeong-kyu and Lee Hong-nae ,and I am pretty amazed by their performances and would love to see them again soon.
Also, shocked to see Ahn Suk-hwan in such cool way,as I have seen him mostly in historical dramas playing the bad guy.
Now,the show does have a lot of disturbing scenes (which I am used to),but might be too much for some people, especially how people with power treat their employees.I see this so often in kdramas that make me believe that it might be real, which is terrifying ,same with kids beings abused by their own parents/relatives.

Took me only 2 days to finish this
I have watched more than fifteen k-drama's till now. But this is the fastest I have finished watching any drama. Why? I don't even know. The story is so amazing that if you start watching it you just can't stop. The excitement & curiosity of knowing what happens in the next episode keeps you attached to this drama. Most of the the things about this drama was great. This drama is so fun to watch. All of the things more or less makes makes though this is an sci-fi, supernatural drama. The story is simple & fun to watch. What I meant by simple that the story is easy to understand. If you are thinking about watching it then please do so. I can assure you that you won't regret it for sure. And rewatching this drama will be also very enjoyable!

THE EXCITEMENT REALLY NEVER ENDS!!
At first, I was skeptical of this drama, but the first episode grabs onto you like a hook! The Uncanny Counter is amazing, one of my newly found favorites. I looked forward to every weekend just so I could watch this show and figure out what was going to happen! A true nail-biter!The plot was nicely done, I felt as if I understood everything I needed to know, and the progression of the characters was quite lovely. The highlight of this show, in my opinion, was the friendship. Onto character progression, Hyukwoo had a nice character progression, as he went from being a huge bully, and generally just a character you dislike a lot, to the one you start feeling a bit bad for and start liking because he starts being nicer, it was a nice touch. (a bit cliche, but it still gets me every time) I also liked how Mun became a counter out of nowhere, and his progression of becoming better, and settling in with his powers as a Counter, and figuring out all the new things he can do with them. The uncertainties the rest of the group had disappeared as Mun learned.
Uncanny Counter has a pretty good mix of Thrill, Political Corruption, Supernatural, Friendship, and light-heartedness, and it makes the drama itself great to watch.
I love this cast a lot, not just the actors/actresses, but the characters they play as well. They all work well together, and their characters were so nicely fit together, it was almost as if they were a family, and in my eyes, they really are a family. I truly love every member of the Counter squad, they live in my heart. I also love Mun's two best-friends, they are so wholesome and never failed to give me a smile! The casting on Uncanny Counter is splendid, and I couldn't imagine the cast being anyone else!
Overall, I 10/10 recommend Uncanny Counter, it's an amazing show, and I would, and probably will rewatch it again down the road. You will not regret watching Uncanny Counter!

Flaws? There probably are a few here and there, but I enjoyed the drama too much to even notice. Overall, this drama is a masterpiece, one of the best dramas released in 2020!

It really has the vibes of OCN dramas, its brutal. I usually like OCN dramas because they don't play safe in the action scenes. This time around though, with a ‘fantasy’ genre it was bit off putting to me since I am not a fan of that certain genre, but surprisingly I liked this drama. I started to understand the story as I was watching it. I did feel the twitch/simple diversion in the mid part of the drama, but it's okay with me.
The drama is really, for me comic-like, that all I could think is that it's really adapted from a manhwa. It has that typical plotline that evolved to something new and refreshing. I liked how the characters portrayed their roles as well as giving emphasis unto family and friendship relationship rather than on the romance side. Overall I did enjoy this drama and I would likely watch the second season.

brings out strong emotions
This has to be one of my all time favourites. I have rewatched it so many times. I cried buckets but it was also very beautiful. It was hard to take breaks because i was so eager to finish it. Im am waiting for all episodes on season 2 to come out before i watch it. I hope its as good as this one.the scene where Chu Mae ok's hand slips away from his son, i was a wreck. It really potrays the pain and guilt for being the only survivor.
That and when So Moon finally reveals why he needed to meet his parents, those were the scenes that hit the hardest.
I really recommend this serie, but bring tissues because it really draws you in emotionally. But it has a happy ending thank god.

A surprisingly good series. Simply good entertainment
The only reason I chose to watch this series was to watch another performance by Actress Yeom Hye Ran. You may remember her as the award winning best supporting actress, playing the part of Jeon Gwang Rye, Ae Sun's mother in When Life Gives You Tangerines. And as expected, I was not disappointed in her performance. After watching the first episode, I pre-judged this series as a cute little funny, not too serious, maybe low budget production that was not to be taken too seriously. Maybe even a little corny. (nothing wrong with corny by the way) But as the story developed over time, the story and the characters really transformed into interesting people that you wanted to rout for. The pacing of the episodes were perfect. Nothing too fast. Nothing drawn out too long. There were some love interest mixed with humor. But nothing over the top, which was perfect. The stories were not complicated, yet they were able to keep your interest with no effort. It left you feeling like you just had to watch the next episode. Lastly, I also never felt cheated with a quick, easy answers to whatever problem they were facing. Solutions were not as predicable as I have experienced in other Kdramas. That is good screenwriting.
As a newbie, I am realizing that saying "the acting was great" is a waste of time. In Korean dramas, I think I have only ever seen one actor that was somewhat questionable in the 20+ shows I have seen so far. But I will say it anyway. The acting was great.
Yeom Hye Ran as expected, did not disappoint. She was great. As was the rest of the cast.
Lee Hong Nae and Ok Ja Yeon stood out as perfect villains. I would have to say they were outstanding.
I do want to point out that on the surface, this series appears to be a comic book, super heroish type of show. But don't be fooled. There are some grewsome events that I don't feel would be good for kids under maybe 13 or so. Nothing I don't think an adult couldn't handle. Not gorish. Just not violence children should watch. (Just this old mans opinion)
I would recommend this show for viewers looking for something different. Something easy to understand. Something to smile with and enjoy.
I don't believe there is any music I would add to my playlist. So that brings the score down somewhat.
I would rate this as 8 out of 10.
PS. I almost forgot. At the end of season 1, the ending credits did the usual still photos of the cast and production crew. I always enjoy that. But this show had a few photos with each of the main cast individually standing with their stunt double. SOOO COOL.

loved every minute
It's very rare for me to find a series where I don't fast forward through some scenes but I loved every minute of this series. I loved the acting and how strong and capable the female characters were and I thought that it had the perfect mix of humor and drama. It does get a little violent, but not bloody. Also trigger warning if you have a problem seeing people being bullied because it happens throughout the series so be careful if this is a problem for you. I highly recommend this series. I thought that the action scenes were very believable and interesting. The CG was great and not overused. Was this review helpful to you?
What a show!!
I was not sure what to expect when watching this. I randomly clicked on it cause I wanted a new show to watch and I don't regret watching this one bit! This show is so good, kinda giving me buffy vibes (fighting demons, chosen ones and when someone dies a new one replaces the old one, etc). Every episode ends with an exciting cliffhanger and I always wanted to know how to continues. There are a lot of plot twists and it wasn't predictable. This series has made me laugh, smile, cry and all of them at the same time. It also does the newfound family really well and I recommend this to everyone who wants to watch a show with a lot of action, newfound family, wholesome moments and just a very exciting story.

REALLY WORTH THE WATCH TRUST ME
To be completely honest I have been ignoring this drama for a long time, simply because I thought I wouldn't find it interesting as I did. When I actually decided to start watching it, it didn't take long for it to grab my attention. Some of the things I liked the most is just the trust and the friendship between the main characters or counters to be exact and obviously the fantasy side. All of them just give off family vibes and that made me happy in a way. They were always ready to help and stand up for each other. Idk I just really liked this kdrama, I know that many would say that it's nothing new and that these kinds of plots are seen often but it just feels different to me and I just don't think i will ever get bored of these ''usual'' plots, they're just so fun to watch. I.n any case I would absolutely suggest everyone to give this drama a chance. Was this review helpful to you?
