It's thrilling and digs at what is considered ideal

For me the story was a beautiful tragedy with comedy here and there, i loved the plot and its progression although i admit at some point i began to question certain character prejudice.

The acting of ji sung has got to be the major reason i picked this drama but the other actors pulled their roles well too. The character Kang Yo Han has depth if you get to understand his way of thinking and method of doing things i would have loved if the plot as a whole dived a bit deeper into unraveling who this character was and less of what he stands for, he has a tragic past and suffering most "evil" character would, but he was much more than that, he never tried to justify his actions neither did he cloak it under "fighting for the greater good" shit. For me he was more human than a devil as he said "monsters aren't made, the monster inside is awoken" he strikes me in so many ways because he reminds me of a part of myself i kill to be able to associate freely, since most of my ideas and principle are considered under the minority.
The character Jung Sun Ah is a bit more cynical and unreasonable, a typical example of what an obsession can do, a strong woman fiercely guarding a set of ideas she has no opinions on, she emotional and impulsive without a care, she had no knowledge of what love and loving should be or feel like, she was well written with so much flaw that just makes sense.

Kim Ga On is a character without depth and reason, he judges and concludes whatever he can of Yo Han yet he's bent on giving infinite chances to evil and cynical people because that's he's belief, this point contradicts the principles he stands for. he's the only flaw of Kang yo Han but finding out why and how makes you realise that even if Yo Han is the devil himself he's still very much made of flesh and bones, for a judge he's more ideal than practical, a saint that's blind to all that's evil. Ga On love story is quite pathetic and slightly understandable one wouldn't trade friendship for love carelessly. Soo hyun as a character is quite weak and badly written for me she's a goody two shoes cop that has this belief of protecting Ga On innocence, diving into crisis without proper thinking i hated her at some point but later all I felt was pity she deserved more screen time for a main character.
The dialogue are quite meaningful and inspiring I like myself a real good conversation and this drama delivered steadily. The serenading classical and OST was nice.

Over all i really liked the drama with a goverment like mine the method of Yo Han would be ideal.

How professional the actors are and storyline...

This Series had got to be one of the greatest that I have ever watched. The directing.. The storyline.. The acting..
especially the two main actors.. Ji sung who is one of the most sexy actors on screen and the reason I watched Devil Judge.. Jinyoung singer in Kpop band
Got7 Jeon chae eun who played Elijah
what both superb actors.. I didn't want it to end. I felt the judge and Kim would have at least had more of a Bromance.
You could tell how they cared for each other. A very emotional roller coaster of a ride. all in all a great watch.. 120%...

Season 2 ?

Perfect drama, acting, story, music ... I would like a season 2 in the near future.
In this drama, for me personally, the hour of time from each episode seemed like 10 minutes.
The story itself is what we all see all over the world every day.
I'm very interested in what the second season would look like and whether there are announcements for it to be shot soon?
There is room here for an even better story next season.
I recommend you to watch this drama because it is very exciting and unique.

Unexpected - dark, but empowering, but terrifying, all at the same time

The Devil Judge attracted me because of Ji Sung and Park Jin Young; I was interested in watching their performances again. I wasn't as intrigued by the plot, but figured their acting would keep my interest.

The story was so dark. It is NOT for the faint of heart. It challenges your conceptions and values of justice, especially how justice should be doled out.

There were a number of unexpected twists and turns in the plot and betrayals I didn't see coming. The ending, while bittersweet, was a fitting ending.

The only thing I found a little annoying was how the bad guys kept winning against the good guys for so long. For me, I would have liked to see a more even push and pull between the sides.

WOULD REWATCH HOLY CRAP

No one can tell me they weren’t in love. I regret hesitating to watch this. One of my favs. Pls, I need something else with Ji Sung and Jinyoung in it. PETITION FOR SEASON 2

Had many actors I’ve seen before like Supreme Justice Min, Ahn Nae-sang, Park Hyung-soo, Hyeon-Jin Baek, Jinyoung, Jang Young Nam, and of course Park Gyu-young.

TW:
SUICIDE
BLOOD AND GORE
VIOLENCE
SA
ABUSE

Thinking about it, we don’t know what happened with Jae Hee, Min Jeong-ho, and Han So Yoon. We are left with, well, nothing. Did Elijah’s legs get better? What happened to Cha Kyung Hee and Kim Choong Sik?

Happy for the ending. Swear I kept looking to see if Yohan dies or not.

When Seon-a killed herself over killing Yohan, that woman really did love Yohan- in her special sick way of course.

Maybe this is like weird, but I found that if I were to be on stage and even though I’m not right now because that stage don’t exist, I would probably like 98% agree with Yohan‘s ways because they were effective and the crimes were serious.

On another note, I feel like the first seasons ending really gave us a springboard if they decided to do a second season we have no idea what happened to dream base and seems like the foundation is yet again complete assholes.

That’s enough content for you to make season two, right? I would definitely rewatch tho first season again. It starts off slow and that’s why I dropped it awhile ago but omg. Give it a chance and if you don’t like it, well, wait until the end of the first or second episode.

So on second thought I will revise my rating to a 9.5- points deducted for lack of Season Two and some loose ends but overall, people gotta hop on this if they haven’t yet!

The devil lies in the society

The Devil Judge, is outrageously smart and witty with a charismatic lead character who will go lengths to deliver justice. Much like Vincenzo, The Devil Judge is a drama regarding legal matters of the country.

The Devil Judge emphasizes the reality of our world today, particularly in politics. Shameless and evil politicians in movies or series are not new in movies and series. We often see them because it mirrors the truth of how prevalent their existence is. It has a lot of twists and turns which are unpredictable, as a viewer I couldn't trust how the revelation of everything was gonna get delivered.

The only missing point I felt was lack of strong backstory for the main antagonist of the show Jung Seon Ah, who was quite dazzling yet dangerous playing the main culprit. The soundtrack was amazing as well, sitting well with the dystopian environment and moulding itself easily with this genre.

Uniquely written and delivered, whether you’re into dystopian themes or action-packed series with the right emotions, The Devil Judge is something you wouldn’t want to miss.

My Rating : 9/10

Is he good or is he bad?

Good… Bad… I flipped flopped between both answers with every episode I watched as the story was masterfully weaved to keep me in suspense right till the end.

The courtroom drama was superb and I absolutely enjoyed the way the devil judge punished the criminals. All the twists and manipulations that went into getting the desired outcomes were very well written and very engaging.

Seeing the devil judge’s stark contrast between his two appearances (hair up and hair down) while at work and at home brought a smile to my face and I was soon captivated. The other contrast between his cool outward appearance and his love for his niece was night and day and he did it brilliantly.

The storyline is one of the best I’ve seen and coupled with great pacing and editing, this drama was thoroughly enjoyable with its fair share of surprises and reveals.

A Mesmerizing Legal Thriller With Unrivaled Emotional Depth

The Devil Judge" stands as a masterpiece in the Korean drama landscape, delivering a potent blend of courtroom drama, dystopian storytelling, and psychological intrigue. While its premise of televised trials in a crumbling society hooks you instantly, it's the central relationship between Kang Yo-han (Ji Sung) and Kim Ga-on (Jin Young) that elevates this series to extraordinary heights.

The bromance between Yo-han and Ga-on is truly exceptional - complex, layered, and emotionally resonant in ways rarely achieved in television. Their relationship evolves from suspicion to dependence, with Ga-on's initial wariness of the charismatic "devil judge" gradually transforming into something deeper as he's drawn into Yo-han's orbit. The emotional bond they develop transcends simple friendship, creating a profound connection that drives the narrative forward with remarkable intensity. Ji Sung and Jin Young deliver performances of incredible nuance, communicating volumes through meaningful glances and charged silences.

What makes "The Devil Judge" so compulsively watchable is how it seamlessly blends this emotional core with riveting thriller elements. Each episode masterfully builds tension while revealing new layers of conspiracy, leaving viewers desperate to continue to the next installment. The series creates a fascinating world that serves as a dark mirror to our own media-obsessed society, questioning justice, power, and morality without offering easy answers.

The production values are equally impressive, with stylish direction, striking visual composition, and an evocative musical score that enhances the show's atmospheric tension. The courtroom scenes, in particular, are theatrical spectacles that highlight the series' commentary on justice as performance.

In my opinion, the weakness of this series is its ending. Like many other fans, I had hoped that Yo-han and Ga-on would end up together and live with Elijah. However, overall I'm satisfied with the ending. Even though Yo-han and Ga-on decided to be separated by distance, they remain soulmates at heart.

"The Devil Judge" proves impossible to categorize - it's a legal drama, a psychological thriller, a social commentary, and at its heart, a profound character study of two men bound by fate and choice. For viewers seeking a drama that challenges both mind and heart while delivering edge-of-your-seat suspense, this series is an absolute must-watch.

I would give this series 10/10

I would give this series 10/10

The first reason is that i never ever enjoyed watching kdrama like this one.
Im so mesmerized by the actings, the characters, the plot twists.

The story is somehow so realistic and relateable for me in many way.

If u ask me, will i rewatch it?
The answer will be solid no, why?

This series is all about mystery, guessing who is the cause of this that accidnet blahblahblah. Now i know all the plots, there is no pandora box left that i need to open no? 😆

I just wonder if they gonna make S2. I would like to watch it🖤

Oh and i never knew jinyoung can act this good! 👏🏻👏🏻

.......yeah no.....he wanted his brother

Great cast, great setting, great fictional hypothetical world, and as someone who's Korean heritage, I really like the inputs of some old traditional narratives that they use in the judgmental system. So the world building itself was great, the character arcs themselves were fine. My biggest issue with this show is the fact that everyone seems to gloss over that he might have been sexually attracted to his brother. I know this show is rumored to be a bromance censored BL type thing, but the way he had feelings and emotions for a man who looked identical to his dead brother. Did not sit right for me and neither did that weird sexual tension that a lot of fans seem to like, specifically if they have a history of being BL fans. The dude was identical to his brother.

Must see Kdrama

I seldom puts in a review but Devil Judge is one of a kind Kdrama. The storyline is unique on its own, we probably will see this kind of court scene in the future knowing how technology works. The two Male actors Jisung and Jinyoung and the female lead Min Jung , gave a performance that is worth watching.
Cinematography is art in itself. Episodes after Episodes I find myself holding to a different kinds of emotions.  Sometimes I'm angry at the characters but often times sympathizing with them.
Must see Kdrama. I would like to see Season 2 of The Devil Judge.
