Hong Bin pleads with his uncle to stop embarrassing Xi Ruo as he loves her. She assumes that he is lying to his uncle to get him off their backs. He also denies having feelings for her. Madame Li arranges for a tea-brewing event to let other ladies observe Xi Ruo to counter the rumors. Xi Ruo couldn’t stand properly after kneeling for too long. She pretends to faint to save herself from embarrassment. Hong Bin carries her out. Song Qin witnesses the incident. Dr. Ye is summoned.
