A drama with the potential to score, and then the writer & the director dropped the ball!
This drama had a lot of potential, but the writing was shoddy, and the director also did a poor job of telling the story. There were holes in the storyline throughout, that left the viewers guessing and wondering what just happened and why! There was no obvious character development even with the main characters.I started watching this because of the excitement from the (mostly) followers of both Xu Kai and Yang Mi. Xu Kai was good in his role as Yang Hua – and Yang Mi as Qin Shi was passable. I found him to be a little too passive and she was wooden and barely emotional until the very end when things fell apart.
I think the thing that saved this drama for me was the chemistry between the ML & FL. Despite their poorly written roles, their connection was believable, and they were sweet together, especially Yang Hua. (Those puppy dog eyes). Yang Mi was underwhelming – not believable as a kick-ass independent career woman. She could deliver some good punchlines, but ruined the image with the whiny, petulant kissing-up to her lady boss.
Let’s talk about the story arcs. SML (Tao Junhui) – I didn’t know whether to pity him or kick him to the curb. His character had potential to be a decent person but man! Weak and spineless! And his girlfriend was such a spoiled, bratty bitch! She certainly did not deserve the ending she got. The brother (Wenyu) and his wife (Meimei) – what a dysfunctional mess! We had to guess about their ‘growth’ and they too turned up with a happy ending. Yes, ML & FL got their happy ending too, but I don’t think enough time was given to that conclusion and it felt like we were cheated out of it in the last episode.
People who deserve special mention:
Baddies – Li Dai. I see quite a few viewers admired her. I did NOT. She was a vicious bitch. With ‘friends’ like those, you don’t need enemies. Her character could have been admirable. Instead (imo) she was petty, spiteful and mean. Tang Yihui (lady boss) – what a piece of work! And FL was like her lapdog - fawning and desperate for attention. It’s a pity she got away with so much manipulation. And just a mention – Yang Hua’s mom. If I had a parent like her, I would ask to be put up for adoption.
Goodies – Yang Hua’s best friend (Cai Liang) – misguided and shallow at times, but a true friend. There weren’t a lot of those in this series. Qin Shi’s older brother – I'd like a big brother like him. But the best character of all hands down was Yan Hua’s dad! Soft-spoken and long-suffering, but wise and loving of his family, especially his son. I loved his scenes the most (after our lead couple, of course).
I wanted to give this one a high rating and a good review, but after about episode 30, it was mostly downhill for me. I can’t even say it’s worth re-watching. After the long wait and anticipation, it disappoints – and that is solely the fault of the writer and the director.

You can find love in unexpected places . . . but do you want to?Due to hijinks, Qin Shi and Yang Hua decide to pretend to be husband and wife. They both 'could do worse' and are attractive . . and so why not move from fake to real? The suspense comes from Qin Shi being a known quantity, but Yang Hua is a mystery to the audience, why does he know so much about finance? why does he have such an odd attitude towards relationships? What makes him tick?
It's not the most compelling plot, but there is an eagerness in seeing him finally lose his cool, or revealing some of the mysteries of the past.
But, I am dropping this series because I absolutely can't stand the secondary couple. They are both miserable, but the woman doesn't want to let go, and the man is incapable on his own. The family tries to encourage the woman to stay as she is a steadying, good influence on him and the family business. This is the story of every dysfunctional relationship ever, and by all accounts has been going on for years . . . what are we supposed to be learning from this? It's beyond the we fight and make up phase.
They are showing every single sign of a completely failed relationship, physical violence, emotional and/perhaps sexual cheating, demeaning and derisive comments about each others characters. It may turn out that there is a relationship lesson down the line, but for now it seems to hint that they are some sort of Romeo and Juliet, instead of a couple who should have split up years ago before people got hurt. I started skipping their scenes, but the pros are small and cons large for this series, and it's time to give up.

keep your expectation at your lowest
I've waited for this drama since last year. The teaser seems promising. I love the actors. Tbh I expect it to be like Love you just the way you are and maybe a bit below you are my glory in terms of quality. What we got is the generic throw your brain away to watch this. I cant watch it anymore
1. WTF with that toxic relationship between her bro n friend. I always skip theirs because there was no character development for them and they were given A LOT of screentime.
2. WTF with that wu fei girl. At first she seems decent, but suddenly she turn super crazy and irrational like a different person??
3. WTF the reason behind Qin Shi's lie. All she did was say yes to that sly boss when I expect her to be smart not dumb like that.
4. QS and YH relationship is bland, awkward, and very little progress.
5. Of course the stupid ending.... they always have good communication and suddenly the divorce and being away for months? WTF is that.
6. The antagonists got away just like that.
7. I dont even care about the workplace story at all. I skip almost all of it since ep 14. And by ep 18, I cant continue anymore. Just watch QS and YH scene till ep 30. And then enough is enough.

She carried the show.
I watched this drama because I like both leads although I have not watched anything from Yang Mi. I have a rather positive impression of her. The synopsis sounded interesting and so, I gave the show a go! I quite enjoyed it but there are other dramas which, to me, are more engaging and more interesting than this one. Nonetheless, this drama is truly, to me, good enough to watch and to chase. I wanted to go from episode to episode as the drama was generally fast-paced enough and generally engaging enough. What I liked:
- I liked Yang Mi in the show. Her character had a lot of sass and was intelligent. She was ambitious and strove hard to get her wants. She looked very charming in most of her clothes. I must say that she's a pretty sight.
- The ML, Xu Kai, was rather "meh" in this drama though. I expected much more from him. He had so much potential from what I saw from his other productions. The chemistry between the leads was okay but not hot and sizzling.
- The acting from most of the cast was stellar. The plot was okay.
- FL had more chemistry with her ex-bf.
What I didn't like:
- I can't stand FL's mentor, Hui Jie. To me, she's a pretentious bitch. So fake in the way that she speaks.
- I can't stand Wu Fei. She spoke haltingly like a retard and I constantly wondered how she suited being a lawyer who is supposed to have the gift of the gab. Everyone else spoke normally but she spoke as though she was somewhat mentally challenged.
- I can't stand Wenyu and Meimei. Their relationship is hard to watch and hard to stomach. They should have split up. It was annoying whenever they appeared on the screen.
- Noble idiocy was somewhat present. I didn't like that as the ML was supposed to be very smart.
Overall, this drama was OKAY and I enjoyed it because in "She and Her Perfect Husband", She carried the show and made it all work. I'd say: Can still watch! Quite good!

Nice little Noona/Cohabitation/Contract Marriage show
Well I actually really enjoyed that - at least the bits I didn't skip past. Loads of the usual cliches but still came over as quite fresh. My enjoyment was pretty much driven by the leads, most of the secondary characters I found supremely uninteresting to unpleasant. The little brother and the 2nd couple especially pissed me off spoilt bitch and wrist grabby man.Tang Jing Mei I find difficult to cope with as well - she's like a live-action IG filter, though I am ashamed to be so put off by her looks.
The lead couple gave a great performance with some really nice chemistry and some laugh out loud moments. There was plenty of kisses but the hugs were the winners for me. They show cased an adult mutually supportive relationship with little foolishness till the last few episodes which had a Because this is my First Life feel to them. If I rewatch the series I'll not bother with the last two or three.
The Lawyer stuff on the whole bored me but I did appreciate the Me Too ness of it all.
All in all worth a watch if any of the headline appeals.

A very weird drama!!!
The mothers in this drama will give you a headache. Not even one of them has a good character, pushy and unreasonable or supportive. Thank God, for ML's dad he is the only parent that didn't turn things into a circus.I find it so funny that her ex who couldn't even protect her from his mother suddenly had a protective instinct and wanted to marry her and protect her from all the work abuse. This is the mansplaining that ruins dramas about strong FML.
The whole plot with the SML was seriously bizarre, if you add Wu Fei in the mix it becomes another circus. Like why would you be with a man who can't make up his mind? He clearly didn't love her, but she goes back to him. He also never really knows what he wants, and pretends to everyone.
For lawyers, most of the people in this drama were so dumb and did not exhibit any intelligence. Even all the plotting fell short of the intrigue that the drama promised.
I hate the fact that she never confronted the other female partner of the firm who constantly used her, demoted, humiliated her, and then always dangled the partnership carrot in her face. That woman was the reason why, other women were disrespected at that firm and she came up with the single-people rule.

We are at a time when we no longer want toxic men and what they told us as alpha men, today we appreciate intelligence and mutual support more.
Ahora sólo me falta verla en inglés porque los subtítulos a veces eran tan sin sentido. Lo que más me gustó en definitiva fué Yan Hua.

Wasted Potential: 'She and Her Perfect Husband' Fails to Deliver on Its Promising Premise
"She and Her Perfect Husband" takes skillfully drawn characters and a unique plot premise, assembles them, and leaves the production team in limbo. The plot follows Qin Shi, a young lawyer with the ultimate career drive. She suddenly finds herself in a very difficult situation, a fabricated marriage, caused by her equally well-meaning brother, becomes the cause of the complicated web of lies and misunderstandings. The beginning of the story, although very promising, quickly transforms into a muddled, tangled and frustrating adventure for both, the authors and the readers. The cast is unquestionably a major strength in this drama. The male lead (ML), who has a notably impressive background in the financial field, seems to have a real star quality about them. This is, however, unnecessary since the script (a frequent setting in the law firm and legal realms) is so densely packed that sometimes characters are left out and the main romance is treated very superficially. Consequently, the one-sidedness of ML and FL is reflected in the audience who sees less of the chemistry and emotional depth that should be given to a drama with such a title.
Forty episodes are way too long for the story of this type. Many of the scenes, particularly ones associated with the law firm, are too complicated and as such, for an ordinary viewer, it becomes a tough nut to crack. This protraction is a major obstacle to the drama's accessibility to a broader audience - it seems to be more tailored to a very exclusive merchant group that is knowledgeable about legal matters.
The drama's storyline linking Qin Shi and Yang Hua, who are supposed to be the centerpiece of the powerful drama, is instead made blurry by the trials and tribulations they face, and then by the subplots that add very little to the drama. The prospect of a "perfect husband" is rarely emphasized, nevertheless, the plot which ends with the divorce, and then sudden together, does not feel like the correct conclusion to the story.
Aside from that, the side plots like Qin Shi's brother's and his wife's subplot seem to be redundant and, in this case, they do not quite add to the main one. The transitions feel chunky rather than seamless, which ultimately results in the drama losing focus.
In the final analysis, "She and Her Perfect Husband" have fallen short of what it is supposed to be. The principal cast plays their best role within the framework of the script, which is rather incoherent and has many disjointed character developments, hence it is a painstaking watch. It might have been a fascinating elaboration on love, marriage, and professional ambition, but the story seems to go off-course in the end. Yet, I would still give it a 7-star rating largely because of the efforts of the main cast but it is in no way satisfying for anyone who would expect a more engaging and emotionally resonant story.

A day of my life was wasted I will never get back
this had had me contemplating that I'm wasting my life watching this show a whole bunch of episodes that was unnecessary and in the ending didn't resolve none of the relationships I feel like I watch a conclusion to a TV show that ended with no conclusion to nothing, the brother and the girlfriend you didn't resolve anything in the relationship in the end and she just had a kid they look happy what the Frick. On the main lead came back to the girl in the ending but she still has the issues of not talking about her feelings. How could you say your feelings to your friends but not to the man you love this is ridiculous. I feel nowadays they make stories that's fucking stupid didn't resolve nothing or try to resolve the relationship aspects of the stories their wrights they just make a whole bunch of chaos and ended in chaosWas this review helpful to you?

Disappointing Story
I started to watch this drama because of the lead actors. They have not disappointed me in their performance. After watching this drama their performance was very good but I felt the story was not up to part. By the tittle I thought it was a romance between 2 professionals and how the romance grows. But this is more about the Female lead career and her ambition in her Law firm. We see a small amount of what is the male lead all about. Of course he is younger so his character is made to be very smart in finances but very naïve. I did like that the women in this drama are fierce and strong minded. I did not like all the twist and turns with added characters that confused us even more. The romance between the lead characters is very minimal, so their chemistry is minimal. As partners in their career there chemistry was fantastic. They were great in supporting each other when ever a problem at work happen. The supporting characters gave me mix feelings. At first Wu Fei was all friendly to the lead female character and acted as an immature girl but then she becomes this hate monster that made no sense. Then in the last 10 episode we get thrown a new character Yao Yao, who had a relationship with the male lead. Why? In the beginning the male lead is so naïve that we are let to believe he had never been in a relationship. The ending was the most disappointing as we are left with confusion and dissatisfied. The actors performance is very good but the writer let us down trying to make such twist and turns with little information to the watcher. Was this review helpful to you?

Messy, muddled plot
I really wanted to like this drama, but it was 40 episodes of case after case with little emphasis on the relationships between the main leads. I always like older woman, younger man dramas as long as the writing is engaging. This drama, however was too muddled with the minutiae of cases rather than develop a natural path between the main leads and their supporting characters. I should have dropped this early on, but I wanted to see it through because I respect the main leads and their talents. Unfortunately, the writing did not do them justice.Qin Shi (Yang Mi) is an ambitious young lawyer gunning for a promotion to partner in a competitive law firm. She is tough, smart and capable and has the respect of all her colleagues. The one thing she doesn't have to make it to the next level is a husband. She decides to foolishly make one up and steals a picture from the internet from a dating site. When she is required to attend an important work event with the spouse, she is forced to "hire" one for the role.
Yang Hua (Xu Kai) is the young man in question--a hermit with a past. He decides to accept Qin Shi's business proposition to get his overbearing mother off his back. Both parties feel this is a great solution to their mutual problems, but neither count on the possibility of falling in love with each other. Add an ex-fiance that never got closure, and his jealous new girlfriend, and we have an interesting plot for a good drama or rom-com. Alas, the opportunity was wasted in favor of in-depth cases that took the attention away from the romance building of the leads.
One would think that the plot would find a funny and romantic way to focus on these two individuals and their slow gravitation towards one another, and to an extent we do. However, it's boringly written and one has a difficult time believing in the plausibility of this odd couple's relationship. You wonder what such an overachieving young woman would see in such a hermit of a kid six years her junior. There are some sweet moments, but the kissing scenes are so poorly rehearsed, that it makes you uncomfortable.
I enjoyed the relationship between Qin Shi and her professional work rival, Li Dai, more than any other in this entire drama. They had really good chemistry and they brought out the best in each other professionally. I even liked Qin Shi's ex because he wasn't a jerk, but a victim of his own unwillingness to stand up to the women in his life. I imagined different ways his story could have gone, but again, the writers missed a great opportunity. He definitely didn't deserve the ending he got. I think the last episode was used to quickly wrap up the storylines they had abandoned earlier on. Characters central to the drama in the beginning tended to disappear by the end and some supporting cast were just nuisances.
The acting was good among the lead and seasoned cast. I liked Xu Kai's performance as the hermetic, oddball nerd and Yang Mi as the high-powered lawyer. The one dynamic that really worked among them was the house-husband/working woman roles. The themes of inequality and harassment are also taken on here.
To wrap up, I think this drama falls into the trap of not being able to decide what it is wants to be. I think one should first decide what kind of a story is central and write along those lines rather than have so many side plots and characters that don't do anything to further the drama's main theme. Otherwise a drama with a messy, muddled plot is the result.

Worth the wait
Man I have been waiting for this forever. And the start of this drama didn't disappoint! Yang Hua a quirky meek introvert genius who is too lazy to work hard, yangmi a hardworking female lawyersthat needed to be married so she would not face glass celieing aka women not progressing at work for their marital status, she picks yang Hua photos and says that he is her husband, all that he doesn't, thinking that they would never meet each other, this lie went for 2 years until fate made them encounter and thus begins their pickering and a possible contract marriage. 10/,10 it has been so long since I loved a drama this much
