Great story lines and amazing OST songs.

I have watched only 16 episodes and I can't wait to watch more. I am especially in love with ep 15 & 16 coz that patient is so relatable for me. Natural acting, great story line & unpredictable script. Anyway, I will review this again later after I hv finished all episodes! BUT BUT, I have to give all full stars to Music.....I am so in love with OST songs. They are just sooooo good! Guysss...OST songs are so good & soothing. I am literally in love with that one OST called Little secret. Try it on headphones🥰

It's amazing .

At first I want say that I've never been watched this kind of drama before. The main lead female psychologist
is so smart and intelligent ..she listens everyone's story and disscusses with them to find the solution.
It's so admiring to see her .But as there's a saying "Everyone has their own story"
She also need someone to help her for her pasts.Well, there 'll be some tricks that why second male lead
approached to her .So,that's may be also an interesting plot too.Great acting skills and production is good. I felt like watching a movie.

I thought Yang Zi was a psychologist

If you're doubting this drama might not benefit you for someone who is interested in psychology because of some other dramas that might have disappointed, don't think twice, go for this! Yang zi's role as a psychologist made me think she was actually a physchologist in reality because she really played the role well and I'm deeply impressed. I've watched some of her dramas and I can say she's really great at acting and she deserves more popularity. I liked the fact that this drama pulled the genres well and my favorite character s were the leads and the second female lead. The male lead brought the light(fun) to this drama and the female lead brought the knowledge. Every character in this drama played their role well and I liked her crazy badass best friend. And their chemistry?yes!I really loved it!I'll continue to watch yang zi drama because she never dissapoints. So if you're here looking at the reviews thinking the drama might be boring, trust me,the male lead is there to entertain you!

There is no cliches, but please enjoy it with your patiences

Not much popular drama could also deliver deep thinkings and carry society responsibilities. All the visitors' story are reflection of real problems people are facing these days, that makes this drama even more appealing and related. Above those, you could enjoy beyond your expectations' high quality of production, makes you feel like watching movie series in front of TV. Perfect cast, no lousy actings at all, high quality ost, good chemistry between almost every roles. What else can I say, full score for my recently binge watching.

Female Psychologist is a Female Centric Drama

expectations about this drama is so hight bec of the title itself female psychologist, plus having a award winning director and a well read novel and well known writer in china all of this elements were already a challenge for the team cause people expectations becomes to high to meet so most of the review s floating now specially those who have questions and negative reactions were expect ed. But to let people know 'Female Psychol ogist is actually a female centric drama' which focuses more on the psychologist life main female lead He Dun-her relationship with various people including friends family colleagues lover and her profession as a psychologist how she works with her clients cases including providing help and solution and how she will be able to handle her own life circumstances along side, the story of each client she have may not include too much details and focus but that is merely b ec their story is just supporting the idea of being a psychologist as a profession hence it will highlight what main character is portraying, if the director and screen writer focuses too much on patient case then we can change the title to the female psychologist and her clients case not female psychologist alone. Aside from her everyday life t he main protagonist also have a dark life backgroud which she needs to mend as the story progresses, the romance side is just a bonus, the challenge in romance is both f I and ml are good friends in real life best fr iends so there might have those awkward moments at times that audience can feel. there maybe technical phasing that needs a djustments, but the plot is clear and the dr ama was able to show several types of psychological trauma some people experiences and what are the possible solutions a psychologist can give in order to help them so at some p oint viewers can have an idea on what the issue is. For those people who feels that there is lackness about the authenticity of the psychological cases presented, just so you know the drama is based in a fiction novel, and only was inspired by real life situation it s not base in true story.

I like the female lead and most of the movies she’s in but this one is definitely different. Although I like studying the human mind, watching this is like peeking in on back to back counseling sessions with a twinge of psycho on the side. After a bit it becomes unentertaining. It’s like one of the hospital series without the excitement. Although mental health is just as important as physical health, watching them gives off completely different vibes, I’m sad to say I feel that they failed to deliver on this one. They could have found a way to incorporate various elements into the story that wouldn’t make it so drab.

Imagine seeing someone with a condition and all of a sudden some expert gives you a thorough explanation/diagnoses and symptoms. Good right? Yes in reality but not TV land. I felt like I was in a psychology class.

Not sure I can even finish this.

started somewhat interesting and feel towards a steep hill dowwards

DISCLAIMER- this drama is not focused on romance ! also 40 ep is way to long.

It started really promising with the cases, but eventually it got kinda boring! Like it would be the same format and i became impatient with the female lead trying to listen to all of the different types of disorders. What might of made it more interesting is to use text to show what is the definition of certain disorders, like bipolar, body dismorphia, panic attack, etc.

Whats annoying is you know there is an evil person, but that person still hasnt show their true motives and is basically doing so much behind the leads back. He also gets way too much on screen time! Super creepy.....

Also the leads dont have chemsistry! like I already watched until episode 27 and there is nothing!

Waste of time honestly

I came into this expecting a super intelligent female lead considering how they introduced her character in the first few episodes; she even has superhuman hearing. However, the female lead seems stupid and has no suspicions when a mysterious neighbour moves in and she is unable to read him at all. Somehow she is good enough to "heal" and fix all of her client's problems in just ONE therapy session visit, but she can't even sense anything from a suspicious neighbour that has moved in for WEEKS? There's no logic behind this and ruins the drama entirely.

If you're a fan of romance, this drama definitely contains it. If you're looking for a logical story through and through, this just isn't it.

Less psychology and more "drama-romance"

Acting is way better than most other Chinese dramas.
Tried to fully replicate itself into a korean drama.
The show had waaay too much potential even the acting cast was good but the stupid misandrous romance just doesn't stop to ruin every other drama on this planet!!! I am just tired of it! Seriously, what is with drama industry and misandy?
This drama had amazing potential even the start to first 5-6 episodes were good.. but then the focus shifted from psychology to romance and drama under-delivered like hell . This is even worse than Geely GE copying Rolce Royce.

I don't like the drama

I had watched drama till episode 24 ,slowly slowly I lost interest in this drama . I like the chemistry between the leads and even I liked their loved story but as I had written that I slowly loose the interest towards this drama so I stopped watching it and decided to drop it.
The reason why I don't like the drama may be the way she treat the patient and by closing her eye she judge the scenerio which was not possible in real life so I felt like fake .
It is personal view , I personally will say that first watch it atleast 20 to 24 episodes then decide either continue or drop it.

Watched for Yang Zi and Jing Boran, less for the lots of cases "treated"

Finally finished it, although like for some other who wanted to like it, the second half was... a chore, disjointed, full of plot holes.
About the actors, I of course liked Yang Zi (as psychology expert He Dun) and Jing Boran(as media station nighttime show director Qian Kaiyi) despite the annoying hairdos and clothing.

But. Despite the hammered in warning of "dramatized" cases referring to actual mental health concerns (including suicide prevention, and "conversion" troubles) this felt too much like a collection of sometimes too amateurish cases of "problems" and the looming mystery announced with the mysterious deep eyed "creep" finally was very disappointing. I was also rather annoyed by all the "best friends" ballet and change of partners although one did serve to illustrate abuse in the workplace (but that's such a frequent trope in vertical dramas that it felt too pasted in here).

The thing is, this was wayyyy too long. And even then, last episodes were rushed and even made to appear as close to cliffhanger. Would I want to watch more of He Dun's sleuthing to make sense of her "visitors" trouble? Honestly, I got too much already there, so I am happy to trust there will be no "Season 2" even though romance-wise, this one was underwhelming. It was more a "forever best friends" one, strangely immature, given the topic.

Another peeve was the pasted in repetition of product placement : we know these dramas are "soap operas" but the whitening face masks and shampoos often came in a bit too often.

I don't think this drama will leave viewers gaining much info about the importance of, and the way psychology and psychiatry exist in China. Visually, there is not a wide variety of interesting locations. We get to see a "broadcasting company" setting up a leafy café, a terraced home/office with patio and balconies, one with a weird hidden space, the lobby of a mall, a small courtyard with a wall over which poultry invades, an alley with kids playing in the street, a beach, a "sanatorium" with gardens ...-- all of that is so generic, even the hairy crabs dinner doesn't really pinpoint to a place "somewhere south of Shanghai" . We only know it can't be Jingbei/Beijing because only there do you hear the whistles attached to the tail feathers of the pigeon patrols and there definitely aren't any in the cities around, as He Dun points out.

For those who like music, there is a nice half hour compilation of 5 titles +3 versions from the OST music and songs here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XKzjC9Dyvo Yang Zi sings two songs.

Ok, I still finished the drama. So will leniently award it an 8 Perhaps this drama only deserves 6.5 or 7, because not realizing full potential, but for good music and for the efforts of the leads and a few other: I liked how Zhang Ruonan pulled off her small "troubled teen" role, but was feeling He Dun's mom was just as creepy as the suddenly appeared neighbor. Would I recommend watching then? The beginning is Ok as a drama and the zimis of Yang Zi, and/or BBF of Jing Boran of course will like it. (although his best role in my mind remains the one he had in Road Home and I think Yang Zi will also be best remembered for other dramas).

Cliff Hanger for Eternity

I really enjoyed this drama even on the second watch. I just with they had been able to tie up everything that was left wide open at the end.

It was refreshing to see a drama that made you think while watching it, keeping you entangled in each sub-story - and to deal with difficult issues surrounding mental health and society’s attitudes toward people who suffer from the ailments as well as neurodivergent peoples. Many of the cases were not given adequate time to fully explain their complexities, let alone how long some of those would take to bring someone to the place of functionality again.

Yang Zi and Jing Moran were very wel cast in their roles and played them extremely well. Their chemistry was quite believable and played well into the school crush backstory.

For a change, there wasn’t much of the hysterical crying or overly controlling parent trying to nanipulate either of the leads nor the second leads.

It was a treat to hear Yang Zi sing one of the songs and the OST was truly beautiful.

I sometimes notice odd things in the set or costumes in dramas, and noticed the couch originally purchased for the practice the FL opened started out as orange leather and in later episodes change to either grey or blue fabric.

There were a few misconceptions regarding Bipolar disorder, but there was one thing said that stood out from the mother of the 2ML. She said something along the lines of not everyone needs to be fixed. And this is true. Neurodivergency is not a disease, nor should anyone be debased or institutionalized (basing this on her diagnosis) because they see and feel things differently than everyone else.

Overall, this was a very good drama. I just wish they’d been able to complete the storyline.
