I am on the fence about this...
I have honestly been on the fence about this ever since I finished watching it yesterday. I watched all of it in one day; I found it intriguing enough to binge watch it. BUT!! I did not like the last episode and the ending. Why? Why? WHY?!But let's start at the beginning shall we: The storyline was good but I feel like this whole thing could have been avoided if the hooded cop just took off his hood and didn't bang on the door as if he was trying to break it down... A simple "Jiwoo, it's the police, please open the door" would've changed the whole story but without it we would not have had the story they wanted to tell. Fair enough; I'll accept the massive misunderstanding that the whole story is based upon and we'll put that aside for now.
If you really do not want big spoilers then stop reading here...!
Second and most importantly: I'll focus on the last episode :|
Where on earth did the writers find this last episode? In the depths of the darkest pit or something??? That intimate romantic scene was completely out of place and so unrealistic! Why would a cop sleep with a suspect? I understand that there may have been some feelings before all this happened but that is not the time or place for that... A police officer/detective would know how bad the implications of it would be! Any evidence or testimony from him would be ignored now due to personal involvement. I think they just added it to make it so much worse when he gets shot... That is my next point: why did he have to die? Why couldn't he just be badly injured like most of the other characters in the series and at least recover? And if he had to die then why does she get to live?? Either way, there would be no happy ending for them even if he had lived. And what happened to her after? The ending feels empty and vague.
I am happy with the fact that it was just 8 episodes but I needed a fuller ending... I needed more loose ends tied up, especially with the members of the narc unit.
Lol, I just realized that this is more of a rant than an actual review but I hope someone finds this useful somehow.

Me to Choi Mu Jin: Daddy? sorry, Daddy?...sorry, Daddy?
Choi Mu Jin is literally SO unbelievably sexy and dangerously hot, he made me forget what I was watching the whole time.My man was really out there trying to give girls a major problem ever liking someone their own age, huh.
Well, he succeed, and THEN some.
I swooned every time he came on screen, every time he walked or smoked or damn existed. I was jealous of TaeJu for being so close to him, for our female protagonist that she got to hold his special attention.
I wished to be conquered by him. He definitely made me FEEL a lot of things and that made the show so damn enjoyable to me.
EASY thirst trap recommend 10/10

probably a good drama i've watched in a long time
I loved this drama so much, it was really interesting. What I hated so much was that we (the viewers) expected her to kill her dad's murderer more "better" like the ending was a bittersweet ending. I was pretty disappointed when I saw that she only just killed her dad's murderer like that not putting that much energy into it. also what I hated, even more, was that pildo died. a lot of people are saying it was unnecessary and I get how they think that but I think it was pretty needed for the story to end correctly. I'm not saying I liked that he died, I was also pretty disappointed because they were getting closer and their relationship was getting better. but they just killed him off like that. Was this review helpful to you?

i loved it (im terrible at reviewing dramas tho, it's usually the actors that are important to me)
story:it was a little different than what netflix had wrote that it was. i didn't expect so much bloody gang stuff, but i'm not like complaining about it or anything. i thought that it was going to go into further detail about her life before her father was killed, but it all happened really quick. i guess that's what you get from an eight episode drama... also the last fight was kinda boring since i've already watched like a bunch of fight scenes in the drama, although it was pretty fun to see choi moojin think that he was going to win when the gun didn't have a bullet in it.
- mini rant:
why did jeon pildo have to die... i know the romance was so random between him and jiwoo but i was literally waiting for something to happen that whole time. his death was so random too... i mean maybe the director was thinking that his death would cause jiwoo to "go crazy" but it was out of nowhere. he was the only reason i wanted a s2 but since he died im not sure id want one, or at least if a s2 were to be filmed i don't want to see another romantic relationship happen between jiwoo and some other guy.
acting/cast:
THE ACTING WAS SO GOOD, han sohee is definitely one of my favorite female actors. i bet she had to do a lotta fighting training for this, there were so many fighting scenes (they were all so intriguing). i recognized a couple of the actors from other kdramas like itaewon class.
music:
ngl i dont really pay attention to the music unless it's a historical drama... so no comment.
rewatch value:
since i just finished the drama, i'm not sure if i'll rewatch it. i might think about it in the future but as of rn idk.
overall:
amazing drama, still pissed that jeon pildo died.

Full on Revenge & Action
The plot is simple. Yoon Ji Woo wants revenge. She will do anything to kill the person who destroyed her life. She was determined in the goal till the end. She is strong, brave, & good with fighting. But the story was predictable from the beginning; I know who is the real villain. It could've been good if Jeon Pil Do was more into the story. One good thing about the story is there is no side story going on; it focuses mainly on the female lead.
I loved Han So Hee acting as vengeance women. She did great in the action sequences.
It would've been better if they explained what happened to Yoon Ji Woo. They never clearly shown her ending properly.
The drama features intense and well-choreographed action scenes. Loved the action scenes.

To what extent are you willing to go to get revenge?
A short drama built on vengeance. The narrative of the story has a fairly basic revenge plot line; the main character seeks revenge for the death of her father. What makes the story somewhat unique imo is the determination of the protagonist and her depiction of a character who lives in pure agony and resentment for her father's killer (and the world for that matter). Han So Hee did an excellent job in portraying her character and she embodies the persona that is Jiwoo flawlessly and with precision.
“The plot twist” of the saga, however, was not precisely a “shocker” and was more or less predictable. The one she trusted the most turned out to be lying to her. And her father's killer was right in front of her this whole time. Which is exactly what had happened to Moo Jin, the one he trusted the most was lying to him all along. What goes around comes back around ig.
However, with all the turbulence aside, they both cared for each other deeply. Moo Jin could have let her go from the beginning, but he saw the persistence and boldness inside of her and decided to put it to use instead. However horrible that might be, he took care of his betrayal of a friend's daughter, when he couldn’t. He protected her and taught her how to protect herself.
In the end, she got what she wanted all along but maaaan what price she had to pay. She lost the only happiness she had found after her father died. And from that salty ending.. will she ever find peace? Is she at peace with herself? And what life will she be living now when her life's purpose has been “fulfilled”?

GIRL POWER
"My Name" is an intense, action-packed series that follows Yoon Ji-woo’s quest for vengeance after her father's murder. Han So Hee delivers an impressive performance, far from her previous role in Nevertheless, showing a fierce and determined character. Ahn Bo Hyun also stands out as Detective Jeon Pil-do, bringing depth to the story. The action is gripping, with well-choreographed fight scenes and fast pacing that keeps you hooked. The only flaw is the protagonist’s near-superhuman resilience, which can feel a bit exaggerated at times. Overall, "My Name" is a must-watch for fans of action and suspense, offering a thrilling ride from start to finish. Was this review helpful to you?

Generic
Honestly the story was predictable with its betrayal, decieve, death of a beloved character and all. It's just the like a typical "lead living two lives to revenge for the loss of a beloved ending with the loss of another" and therefore making them lose morality but with gender reversal.
As usual actors are amazing with their work.. Except the mafia boss who looks like he's sleep-talking.
Music is addicting that sucks in the audience into the scenes.
Personally I felt that the protagonist lacked a character development and her pair with her senior looked like one sided with him showing all the emotions and her painfully lacking and their love story felt more rushed into to complete the plot than well-thought.
That's it. The drama being short saved all the trouble... And i guess we'll have another season?!

Revenge
Revenge - in one word we can sum up all the moves of the main character.Han So Hee perfectly played the role of a small, weak girl who under the supervision of the mafia boss undergoes an extraordinary transformation and turns into a real tough girl. This character will stay in my memory as one of the really well played ones.
Park Hee Soon as Choi Moo Jin is an amazing combination. I love him in this role. And the chemistry that develops between him and Oh Hye Jin is something that keeps the viewer hooked.
I think the series is amazing. Gangster cinema at its best. It keeps you in suspense, shows the brutal life of the mafia underworld and in all that, the girl's struggle to get to the truth. The series has been keeping me awake for over three weeks now. I will definitely revisit it.
But one detail puzzles me. That chemistry between Oh Hye Jin and Choi Moo Jin. The whole team gave us a glimpse of something wonderful. The way they play off each other on screen, the subtleties mixed with brutality. And the ending itself, something so real. Different from all the "happy endings" we get from Americans for example.
