Both dramas are set in historical times, Joseon Exorcist being joseon and Bulgasal being both Goryeo and Joseon. Zombie like monsters are in both dramas, and they attack people in violent ways with super strength. They're more like demons, and there are specific demons that can turn other people into the mindless creatures to attack their own. Both are very violent and have good battle scenes.

In 1867, Sin Jae Hyo leads the Dongrijungsa, which teaches pansori (traditional Korean musical storytelling). A young girl, Chae Seon, who wants to perform pansori, appears in front of him. Chae Seon has dreamed of performing pansori since she first heard Sin Jae Hyo perform when she was little, but Sin Jae Hyo turns her down because women are not allowed to perform pansori. Chae Seon then disguises herself as a man and enters the Dongrijungsa to learn pansori, but Sin Jae Hyo doesn’t accept her as his student. One day, he hears Daewongun, the most powerful man in Joseon and the father of the King, is going to hold a national competition of pansori performers known as “Naksungyeon”. Sin Jae Hyo decides to teach Chae Seon, who has a true voice to perform “Chunhyangga". If anyone finds out that Chae Seon is a woman, Sin Jae Hyo and Chae Seon will both face death.

While Bulgasal: Immortal Souls only has 2 episodes out at the moment, the feeling I get from watching this is similar to when I watched Arthdal Chronicles. I believe this was mainly due to the setting, and the fantasy aspect to it.

In Bulgasal, there is a curse and there are these monsters. However in Arthdal, it's a different species / race and the settings both border on this fantasy aspect. Plus the action scenes to me are similar.

I know that's not a lot in common, but who knows! With the progression of the show the similarities could become greater.

Both are about monsters/immortal beings. Bulgasal is more action/drama focused with a much darker overall tone whereas a korean odyssey is more fluffy but still touches on subjects such as death and the ups and downs when mortals meet with immortals.
